Ferris Bueller To Take Another Day Off?

The boy who personified carpe diem, Ferris Bueller, has remained a perpetually cool teen icon, despite the fact that Matthew Broderick has pretty much vanished from the limelight (Does anyone remember the last thing he did? Bueller? Bueller?)

It goes without saying that Ferris Bueller’s Day off is a bonafide neo-classic and one of the top teen comedies of all time. Would a sequel shake up it’s glory?

Not according to Rick Rapier, the man who’s been shopping around his spec script, Ferris Bueller 2: Another Day Off, for the past four years. The script’s first 12 pages have popped up on a number of film-related blogs, most notably the appropriately titled “Stuck in the ’80s Blog.” The plot? Ferris, along with Cameron, has built a fortune as a motivational speaker (of course) and longs for another day off. Also, Principal Rooney is still after him. (What? Why?!)

Rapier claims higher-ups at Paramount Studios have read and are interested in the script.

What do you think — will the Ferris sequel see the light of day? Should it?

If it were made, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to think it might be similar to what the guys at Atom.com made:
