Helena Bonham Carter is currently considering starring in an upcoming re-do of The Lone Ranger (Disney). She’s set to play the madam of a local brothel.

Armie Hammer (The Social Network) has already been cast as the masked main character, and Johnny Depp is set to play the Lone Ranger’s Native American sidekick Tonto.

Gore Verbinski (Rango, Pirates of the Caribbean) has previously worked with Johnny Depp and is taking the lead on this film.

Filming is set to start this fall in Texas and New Mexico, with the tentative release slated for Dec 21, 2012.

Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are frequent collaborators, and are already set to be in Tim Burton’s horror-drama Dark Shadows, which is set for next year.

According to Disney’s press release, the Lone Ranger movie will focus on the start of this saga. Texas Ranger, Butch Cavendish, the faithful sidekick, and of course a mask.
