As a student at Michigan, you can bet that nearly the entire campus was buzzing about being within a 10-mile or so radius of Ryan Gosling and George Clooney. I’m pretty sure I was in the same building as them at one point, as I tried to catch a glimpse of them. You can probably imagine my agony when my efforts went unrewarded and pictures flew up on my newsfeed of friends (and friends of friends) that were lucky enough to “run into” them.
The movie they were filming is called The Ides of March, which stars Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, and Paul Giamatti. Ides of March focuses on presidential candidate Mike Morris (Clooney) and the mastermind behind his campaign, Stephen Meyers (Gosling). Giamatti plays Tom Duffy, a rival presidential candidate. Judging from the trailer, it seems like there will be lots of backstabbing, secrets, and questionable actions. Sounds like a good enough plot line for me! I think I’ll be seeing the movie when it comes out, even if it’s just to see the scene shown at 1:26 – which was shot in Hill Auditorium on campus.
