One of the stars on teen mom, Farrah Abraham has definitely not had the easiest life after her daughter Sophia was born. Actually, her trouble started well before the baby came into her life, her boyfriend, Derek Underwood was killed in a car accident before he ever got to see his baby daughter. Derek actually never knew that Farrah was pregnant and was completely unaware that he had a baby girl on the way. Just recently though, Farrah admitted to something during an interview with In Touch that was completely unexpected. The reality TV star says that just two years after her baby was born, when her depression was getting worse and worse, she reached out toward alcohol and drugs in order to counteract the pain that she was feeling. This is a direct quote from Farrah, “When I drank, I’d be happy for 10 minutes, when I got high, I feel a sense of nothingness for about an hour, but in the end, my negative emotions always came rushing back.” The high in which Farrah is talking about during her interview with InTouch came from substances such as marijuana and cocaine.
Keep in mind, Farah is definitely not the only star featured on the teen mom show who has had serious issues with drugs and depression. Amber Portwood is serving a five-year sentence for violating a probation for domestic violence and possession of a controlled substance, attempted to kill herself two times and has serious charges for prescription medications. Jenelle Evans also has torbules, she faces several charges for assault, marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession and many other types of controlled substance charges. Both teen moms have lost custody to their children and no longer serve an active role in their lives. Amber lost custody to her fiancé, Gary Shirley and Jenelle willingly gave custody of her son Jace to her mother. Farrah could be the next lose custody of her child but let’s hope that it does not go down this path.
Farrah’s hard partying also lead to greater signs of depression when she admitted to the magazine that she also considered suicide as an option when her depression began to worsen. A direct quote from Sarah was, “all I could think about was killing myself, I figured I would drown myself in the bathtub, that seemed like the easiest way to get.” She said that she actually planned out a note that she was going to write to her three-year-old daughter, Sophia, that note was going to contain an explanation that she missed her father too much to carry on. It’s expected that child protection services are going to get involved after these recent claims by Farrah. She may have some rough days ahead of her but Farrah says that she is working to be as best of mom as she can and she is attending therapy in order to help with her troubles.
