Big news, Taylor Swift fans! The 22-year-old Grammy winner has announced via web chat that her new album, Red, will be released on October 22! After writing about 30-35 new songs for the album, Swift narrowed down the final track list to a grand total of 16 (“Not including bonus tracks that you may find here or there,” she says). According to Swift, her world becomes a “storyboard” while writing a new album, and she and her close friends and family often become characters.
During the web chat that aired at 7PM EST/4PM PST, Swift answered questions from a select group of fans in the room with her and also spoke to fans all over the globe directly through G+ Hangout. She dished about her own personal experiences and hobbies and how she wrote a song with Ed Sheeran (which will make an appearance on the new album) while they sat together on a trampoline.
As if the release date of her new album wasn’t exciting enough, Swift also premiered a new single off the album called “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”! The bright-eyed blonde played the new track to end the web chat, and promised it will be available for purchase on iTunes and Google Play tonight.
