Jessie Malakouti, a/k/a Jessie and the Toy Boys, has released the much anticipated video for her new summer smash “On With My Bad Self.” Directed by Daniel Hannah and Jessie herself, the video channels a trippy alternate universe where a breezy summer BBQ meets the fate of bath salts, zombies and finger kabobs. Jessie and the Toy Boys released their debut EP ‐ Show Me Your Tan Lines (Prospect Park) last year, which featured “Summer Boy” and the dance floor anthem “Push It” ft. Yelawolf. If the incredible response from the debut wasn’t enough, she was also asked to join Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale tour, performing alongside the pop legend as well as Ms. Nicki Minaj.
It didn’t stop there though, she also was the only pop act on the main‐stage during 2011’s IDentity Festival alongside superstar DJ’s Avicii, Kaskade and Skrillex. This brings us to 2012, which has seen Jessie team up with DJ Felli Fel& Lil’ Jon for the track “It’s Your Birthday B!tch,” release the video for “Runaway,” a song she wrote with Yung Skeeter (formerly DJ Skeet Skeet) to advocate for marriage equality AND most importantly, make the finishing touches on her first full length album This Is How Rumors Start. Plans for the albums release will be announced this fall!
