Christine Scott Bennett is not only a beautiful and talented model and actress, but a kind, polite, down-to-earth woman. Confident, determined, and dedicated she followed her dreams all the way to Los Angeles.
As a self-proclaimed “military brat”, Bennett moved around a lot as a child. She mostly grew up in a small town in New Hampshire playing sports and riding horses.
She later attended Shepherd University in West Virginia, where she received her degree in Therapeutic Recreation. Christine also obtained her certification as a NSCA certified personal trainer. She began modeling while she was attending school, but quickly realized it was “too easy to go to ‘go-sees’ than class.”
As tempting as the money was, she wanted to remain focused on schoolwork and getting her degree. She spent a few years in the corporate world after she graduated, but realized it was not for her. She made the decision to pursue her dreams of acting and modeling more seriously.
As a kid, Bennett glamourized movies. She wanted to be on television and has always hoped to make a career out of acting. She moved to Florida with her then-fiancé and would travel to New York City for castings on the weekends. She was sent to a casting by accident and they happened to book her. She explained she was, “in the right place at the right time.”
After booking the lead role in the movie,“Robodoc”, she moved out to Los Angeles. She also became the Anheuser Busch campaign’s “Budweiser Girl.” Bennett really enjoyed making the commercial for Budweiser and spoke highly of those she worked with. “I was taught so much and it came out amazing.” The commercial played internationally and was run during the Olympics, which was a surreal experience for her.
She has also appeared in Verizon, Wendy’s, and Mercedes Benz commercials and on television shows including “My Best Friends’ Girl,” “Boston Legal,” “True Jackson VP,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “CSI,” “Funny or Die,” and “Freshmen”.
Currently, Bennett is promoting her new show, “The Inbetweeners”. She plays “Polly MacKenzie” in MTV’s adaptation of the UK hit series. The highly amusing and comedic show, written by Brad Copeland, premieres on MTV Monday, August 20th at 10:30pm. When speaking of her experience on set she described it as one of the most fun times she’s had: “It was brilliantly put together. All the personalities meshed well together and the chemistry was great.”
When she’s not working she enjoys boot camp classes, Pilates, yoga, hiking, going to the beach with her husband, and trying out new restaurants. She and her husband also spend their free time volunteering with Tails of the City. They own two rescues- Smurf, a Miniature Pinscher mix and Tyson, a Beagle/Jack Russell mix.
To those who are aspiring to be models and/or actresses she offers solid, encouraging advice: “First off, never give up.” She explains that it can be emotionally draining and exhausting, but “without hard times nothing is worth it.” She has to make many sacrifices, but believes they are well worth it.
She hopes to have her own television show one day. With her positive attitude and bright personality it is a definite possibility. Bennett has all the tools to take her where she wants to go. “Everything is at my fingertips here.” She says she is constantly learning new things and enjoying the culture on the west coast. After all the years Bennett spent moving, she can finally call Los Angeles home.
