Of all the lines showcased at Vancouver Fashion Week, Misty Greer’s Trunk Show was by far one of the most original and interesting. Greer, a Vancouver based designer and costumer, paired bright colors with unique silhouettes and patterns to create a show-stopping line that definitely had audiences talking.
Greer earned a degree in fashion design and technology from Kwantlen Polytechnic University in 2008, and created her own signature line the following year. In 2009, she gained nationwide notoriety when Lady Gaga wore one of her signature headpieces during her Monster’s Ball tour, and personally thanked Greer on stage! Fast forward three years, and the designer is still captivating audiences with her signature style of sparkles and sequins.
Greer’s show at Vancouver Fashion Week definitely showcased her ideas and uniqueness as a designer. Models were styled with a “pin-up” girl hair and make-up theme, and the line featured bold prints, patterns and colors (think Brigitte Bardot meets Betsey Johnson meets Nicki Minaj!) Overall, the show exhibited the three necessary F’s: fun, flirty, and of course, fashion!
