Blue Light Bandits Share Their Love For Music With Friends and Fans In “After Rain”

by

After the success of their recent sophomore LP release, Honestly Glad It Happened, Blue Light Bandits are bringing the album to life with their latest music video for “After Rain.” The video captures a quintessential night at the band house over the past year and a half during the recording process for the album, featuring band members Dan DeCristofaro, Ethan Bates, Simon Adamsson and Jay Faires meeting up for a basement jam session. Filled with friends, laughter and warmth, the “After Rain” music video showcases the heartfelt dedication that defines the Blue Light Bandits music approach.

This song is simply a love song to music. I’ve always felt like I’ve had an intimate relationship with music as a songwriter. You put in time and love and it comes right back. It’s one of our older songs – I wrote the original idea during my senior year of college in 2012. I created an instrumental loop of the chorus and stored it in my old boss loop pedal. A couple years later we were going through some gear and I played the loop out loud to the guys and they were like “what was that?!”… It inspired me to go home and finish writing this song. — Dan, Blue Light Bandits

After Rain” is the fifth track from Honestly Glad It Happened, an album that showcases Blue Light Banditseclectic infusion of genres and styles. The project —  released last month — introduces the next evolution of their songs, sound and direction.

The Blue Light Bandits are an award winning, 4-piece independent groove rock band from Worcester, MA. The BLB sound is inspired by a soulful mix of jazz, neo-soul, pop, and funk music. Live BLB shows have become a staple of the Boston, Worcester and New England music scenes with residencies at Lucky’s Lounge in Boston and Michael’s Cigar Bar in Worcester as well as frequent appearances at the best breweries, wineries, and festivals in the region.

Brittan Smith Explores The Feelings of Coming Out With New Video For “Peach”

by

Emerging pop artist Brittan Smith is introducing audiences to another chapter of the Going Rogue universe. Following the release of “Fiend,”, Brittan Smith is back with the music video for his latest single, “Peach.” The video for “Peach,” directed by Heather Ballish and Brittan Smith, is a visual representation of the different emotions felt when putting on a facade of being happy to the outside world, but feeling alone on the inside. For Brittan, the video is a reflection of his personal journey as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and the headspace he was in before coming out:

“The Peach cinematic explores a fantasy universe inside the head of a solemn, pre-out of the closet version of me. The pre-out version of me pops soma, a euphoric drug reference to Brave New World, in order to escape into this flower field with a very lively version of myself that doesn’t feel quite right. One that is euphorically happy to a level of being almost creepy.

As the video progresses we see this internal storyline begin to fragment as the fantasy world cannot remain intact as my waking life remains in disarray. This all comes to a head as different glitches appear in the video including a Rabbit headed mascot, glittering banana and a true depiction of how I feel confident: me in all black wearing looking directly into camera knowingly telling myself to take the leap. On the surface, the video is fun, playful and full of effects so there is broader appeal for those who don’t want to dive too deep into the metaphor.” – Brittan Smith

Emerging from the prairie lands of Kansas with an avant-garde, rockeresque – pop sound Brittan Smith, now a Los Angeles based musician, is crafting dramatic musical worlds bathed in neon. A vocalist from a young age, Brittan turned to his mother in the car one day while jamming out to Bon Jovi and said “I’m going to be a rockstar.” He has been on that artistic path ever since. With inspiration from artists such as Lady Gaga and Chester Bennington, Brittan Smith began to craft his sound while maintaining a message of embracing all the things that make you unique.

Growing up in the Midwest had its challenges – Brittan being a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and someone who deeply struggled with depression and anxiety faced hardships like much of the youth of his generation did. With this, Brittan chose to fuel his art and focus on expressing the different ways music can be used to connect people. His first release Tension was in 2018 and since then he has continued to cement his sound while also delivering stunning visuals. His most recent releases – Eyes On The Road” and Cyborg – have garnered over 35k streams collectively.

Brittan Smith is ready to amplify his message and filmmaking background with his forthcoming EP Going Rogue set for release later this year. He intends to introduce his audience to an entire alternate universe with interconnection between videos, song themes and future albums.Brittan Smith’s Going Rogue EP is set for release later this year with singles “Fiend” and “Peach” available to stream on all DSPs. New England’s Blue Light Bandits Release Highly Anticipated Album “Honestly Glad It Happened”

by

New England’s very own Blue Light Bandits have released their highly anticipated sophomore LP Honestly Glad It Happened on all streaming platforms today. An eclectic mix across genres and styles, from bluesy accents in “Everyday Is A Holiday” to ‘70s retro vibes in “Without You,” Honestly Glad It Happened is, in many ways, an ode to love: love for significant others, for friends or even for music itself. In fact, the album is a huge labor of love for the band, as it was entirely recorded and produced within the BLB team.

“It’s everything to have been able to do this stuff as a squad on our own with our own resources. We’re very blessed and lucky to have what we have and to have had the resources and personnel to do this at this level. We’ve made records in the past…but nothing felt as right as doing all that work ourselves with a group of people that stays internal, stays loyal and trustworthy, and stays on the same track, on the same schedule… It’s amazing to think that this is gonna come out and it’s something that belongs to us and only to us and will forever belong only to us. It’s a reminder that making music is a team sport, or at least I believe it should always be viewed that way, and we have the best team in the damn business.” – Blue Light Bandits

Rebellious Rockers, Bruvvy, Spice Up Rock ‘n’ Roll in “U Think This Song Is About U” Video

by

Allow us to introduce you to your new favorite female-fronted powerhouses – Bruvvy. The band is reimagining rock ‘n’ roll with a fresh millennial perspective. They are reinvigorating the classic, raunchy, over-the-top energy that comes to mind in association with bands fueled by guitar riffs and rebellion.

As a trailblazing first impression of their “Little Heat” EP, available August 2021, Bruvvy is throwing us head-first into their universe with their single “U Think This Song Is About U.” They are spicing up the South Florida rock ‘n’ roll scene (literally) in their unruly restaurant takeover for the music video.

The video tells the story of vocalist Liz Varum’s emotionally destructive stint in the service industry. The setting is more than just a backdrop; it is the exact muse that inspired this punchy track. The storyline follows Varum’s  humble beginnings in the kitchen to the full circle moment of filming a music video in her previous employer’s eventful dining room.

“The lyrics were written throughout the longest, shittiest work day of my entire life. I was covered in sweat and kitchen grease (which was airborne, and slowly making me breakout), getting emotionally abused by my boss, and the only tips that were ending up in my pocket were coming from a guy that wanted nothing more than for me to get on his motorcycle with him,” explained lead vocalist Liz Varum.

Behind the powerhouse vocals and groovy guitar melodies is a universal message of greed tarnishing work ethics.

I wondered for a second if anyone would notice if I took a handful of cash from the tip jar. I learned that day that when the sole motivation behind work is money, everyone is, at some point, reduced to a thief,” said Varum.

Since their first show in 2019, Bruvvy introduced the South Florida music scene to their powerful stage presence, their “anything goes” performance style, their raw realness, and most importantly, the friendship that keeps them glued to their listeners and to one another. This is not a rock n’ roll revival; it’s a rediscovery of the very spirit that possesses us to jump, scream, sweat, and connect.

Stay tuned for more news on Bruvvy’s upcoming EP at https://bruvvyband.com.

Pop Duo Chain of Islands Release Dreamy Nostalgic Video For R&B Infused Ballad “Shelter”

by

Today Chain of Islands has premiered the official music video for their latest ballad track “Shelter.” The pop duo – made up of Nick Goins and Derek Vautrinot – have creatively crafted a video that not only offers fans a beautiful performance of the track, but gives a sense of nostalgia with its black and white film elements reminiscent of old-Hollywood film. The duo’s performance in the visual is an emotional reflection of the song’s meaning of healing, and having faith in one’s own strength.

“The video for ‘Shelter’ is an effort to capture the feeling of self reflection throughout the times. An isolated moment on the couch when you can take an honest look inward to reflect on who you are and where you’re going, and how the feeling must have felt in any era, past to future.” – Chain of Islands

Chain of Islands is a pop duo originally formed in Boston, MA and currently split between Orange County, CA and Providence, RI. Nick and Derek both met through playing in heavier rock acts (Lions Lions and Que Sera) from the New England area. After years of heavily touring the rock/hardcore scene, both members decided to collaborate and pursue new creative avenues leading to the birth of Chain of Islands. The band is excited to release their debut EP slated for release this summer.

Cody Presley Releases Music Video For Emo Rap Track “Before You Go”

by

Emerging hip-hop artist Cody Presley has released the music video to accompany his latest single “Before You Go” on his official YouTube channel today. Reflecting the song’s message of how difficult it can be to let go of someone close to your heart, the visual allows us to get an inside look at Cody Presley and the inner workings of his relationship. When discussing the inspiration behind the video for “Before You Go,” Cody Presley writes:

“Our inspiration for the Before You Go video comes from us wanting to portray that ‘What we once had, has ended.’ In the video you see an apartment with just me and it’s messy stuff everywhere symbolizing life is a mess in the current situation. The audience gets to see the home and family we built and the question is like ‘Do you want to throw it all away? Give up?’” – Cody Presley

Sug Daniels Releases New Single “Heavy” Backed By New Record Label Weird Sister Records

by

What do you do when you fall in love with a friend after a tough breakup? Sug Daniels seeks to answer this question in her newest single,Heavy.”

Heavy is the horrible awkwardness of having romantic desires for a friend but not being sure if the feeling is mutual. “This song is all the things I’m still too chicken shit to admit,” Daniels writes. “I think people, queer and otherwise, can relate to the fear of holding a torch for someone when they are in a sensitive place in their life.”

The leading single serves as the first glimpse into Sug Daniels’ forthcoming EP Franklin Street, slated for release this fall through Weird Sister Records. The Franklin Street EP is also the first time Daniels is producing a body of work on her own.

Sug Daniels is a singer, songwriter, and producer who is using the tools around her to capture the emotions of an era. Daniels’ work is as colorful, vulnerable, and charismatic as her personality. She thoughtfully combines elements of folk, R&B, and low-fi alternatives to create personal and tender music interlaced with messages of truth and positive change.

Growing up in the rural town of Smyrna, Delaware, Daniels had felt first-hand both the extreme joy and the major isolation that many LGBTQ+ people experience in Southern Baptist-style churches. After coming out, she left the church but continued her journey armed with the love of powerful music and celebration of community. She currently resides in the city of Wilmington, Delaware, continuing to create music to share and inspire those around her.  After leading two successful musical projects, Hoochi Coochi and FlowCity, Sug Daniels has set out to create solo music that reflects her current views and personal stories.

On top of dropping her new single, Daniels is also celebrating her signing with Weird Sister Records, becoming the first signed artist on the label’s roster.

Sick and tired of the white dude music business machine, Deanna DiLandro and Madison Hetterly created Weird Sister Records, a label model that provides a safe space to women, trans and non binary people in creative industries. With a commitment to being an anti-racist organization that encourages equity, diversity and anti-racist actions in the music industry, DiLandro and Hetterly developed Weird Sister Records in order to amplify the voices of BIPOC artists and creators.

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Daniels is excited to have Weird Sister Records backing her for the launch of Heavy.”

“I am so eager and excited to make history with Weird Sister Records. They encourage my creativity and support my desire to tell my stories the way I want them told. Collaborating with them has been an exciting cycle of ideas and mutual admiration. I see great things in all our futures.” – Sug Daniels

Be sure to stream Heavy on all streaming services and watch the official music video for “Heavy” on Sug Daniels’ YouTube channel.

Brittan Smith Continues Going Rogue In New Music Video For “Fiend”

by

Dark pop artist Brittan Smith is following up and showing audiences a new look at the alternate world his debut EP Going Rogue will take place in. Through an exclusive music video premiere with PINNACLE Magazine, Fiend is Brittan Smith’s anthem of liberation; it’s a declaration that you don’t need anyone’s permission to be yourself, and a reminder not to pass judgment on anyone else.” The visual, directed by Heather Ballish and Brittan Smith, features Smith performing as different characters in an enclosed room – allowing the audience to dive deeper into the different emotions centered around the track’s underlying message.

I wanted the cinematic to give us an insight into many different perspectives and the deeper issues each character was facing internally. If we could see and be seen from many perspectives, maybe we wouldn’t judge or be judged by someone’s surface level understanding of us.” – Brittan Smith

Emerging from the prairie lands of Kansas with an avant-garde, rockeresque – pop sound Brittan Smith, now a Los Angeles based musician, is crafting dramatic musical worlds bathed in neon. Wavy Trees Embrace Weirdness In New Music Video “Nobody Cares”

by

After the success of their debut single “I Wanna Go Out,” Wavy Trees are back with a new music video for their latest single, “Nobody Cares.” An ode to the distracted nature of our world today, the video depicts the loneliness of being weird amongst people trying to fit in, and the happiness that can be found when you finally meet a person who can accept you and be a little weird too.

“Everyone has a story but not everyone is in the best chapter of their story, so ‘Nobody Cares’ is a call to all to take a second to help each other in these fast times we are living in.” – Wavy Trees

If Wayne’s World and Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure collided in an alternate reality House party, Los Angeles based Wavy Trees would be the band playing in the backyard.  The cosmic bartender at this gathering would be mixing swaggering hard rock riffs with the attitude and energy of garage-punk, dumping it into a shaker and pouring out a potent cocktail of we-could-give-a-fuck fun.

Wavy Trees is made up of Zack “Moondog” Smith on lead vox/guitar/piano, Jason Espirito on guitar, Brian Duke on bass/guitar, and Jack Gallner on drums. The band is produced by the legendary Jay Baumgardner (Seether, Bush, Papa Roach, Lacuna Coil, Otherwise), and Ron Geffen from Rockland Studios helped bring the video to life.

“The real story behind the video is, instead of thinking about how crazy someone looks doing something or judging anybody, we should accept everyone for however they are no matter what they look like, sound like or whatever situation they are in. We can’t all just work all our lives and get lost in the system that leads to nothing! We gotta take the time to be weird, do what we want and be there for eachother.” – Wavy Trees

Check out “Nobody Cares” on the band’s official YouTube channel, and stream the song on all streaming platforms today.

Emerging Alt Pop Artist Violette Releases Electric New Single “Stop”

by

Fans can have a glimpse into what’s to come for Violette with her new synth pop track “Stop,” which premiered exclusively on Global Money World. What originally started as an experiment, “Stop” would go on to become the first single off her forthcoming debut EP, In her beauty lies my death and my life, which is set for release on August 13, 2021. Violette describes the track as the song that sets up the rest of the EP and its storytelling:

“It started as an experiment, just making different sounds with my rings tapping a wine glass and random guitar noises. It was through this song that we figured out what the EP was going to be about, both sonically, lyrically, and narratively

“I wanted to be able to put my diary out there without being so explicit and really tell different stories and put you in different places and different moods without having it explicitly say ‘This is the situation,’ but to kinda paint more of a picture and put you in a world.” – Violette

Creating innovative music that tells a timeless story is a difficult feat, but for Violette, the ability to harness both originality and universality is the underlying strength that defines her artistry. After a successful chapter of her career as a rock-pop front woman, Violette is stepping into the spotlight of her own stage, opening the curtains to reveal a solo project that is a bright reinvigoration of her past achievements. A force that is as bold and brave as it is alluring and enchanting, the Baltimore-based singer/songwriter has cultivated an inspired, anthemic sound that captures a rare balance of daring fearlessness and refined sensibility, savoring strongly of a woman of perceptiveness who has much to say, and a world that is eager to listen.

Violette’s debut EP, In her beauty lies my death and my life, is set to release August 13th of this year. The EP’s leading single “Stop” is now available to stream on all DSPs.

Premiere: Nathan Harrington Touches On The Hardships Of Relationships In Groovy Pop Rock Tune “Sleeping On Your Side”

by

Following the release of his chill single “Hold On Me,” emerging reggae pop rock artist Nathan Harrington returns with upbeat and captivating track, “Sleeping On Your Side.” Written by Harrington and produced by Jim Kaufman, “Sleeping on Your Side” tells the story of a toxic relationship where one often makes excuses for their partner without realizing the negative impact it is having on their own wellbeing. Despite the hardships that relationships and breakups come with, Harrington is able to let go of the past and learn how to move on with a sense of new understanding. The video, directed by Cory Ingram, follows Harrington through a struggling relationship before finally walking away and is available to watch here.

“This has been a song concept in my head for years. And finally everything connected and the song was finished. We’ve all had those toxic relationships where you make excuses for your other, not realizing the drain and fatigue it puts on your mind, body and spirit until it’s too late. ‘SOYS’ is a song that takes you through one of these relationships, the highs and lows of a break up. But ends with clarity being restored. It’s never easy going through a breakup, especially when there was so much love. But you can’t hang on to a feeling that has faded.” – Nathan Harrington

With a sound that is uniquely his own, Nathan Harrington combines elements of Roots and Reggae to bring a bold and captivating sound to life. Deeply influenced by artists like Black Uruhu, Steel Pulse, Bob Marley, and Toots & the Maytals, his musical inspiration helps to hone his tone while contemporary influences like Rebelution and Slightly Stoopid point him towards the next generation of CaliRoots artists. “The music I make is meant to heal people. Reggae holds a high vibration, and I believe it can pull people away from the darkness,” shares Harrington.

Creating a new wave of sound, when it comes to songwriting, living is Nathan’s biggest intrigue. Whether it’s exploring nature on a hike, surfing the sea, or channeling meditation, it’s what truly inspires home to open and his eyes and see, and his ears to hear. Aside from singing, Nathan plays instruments such as guitar, bass, piano, ukulele, and percussion. He’s shared the bill with artists such as Jacob Collier, 2 Chains, Shawn Mendes, Sabrina Carpenter and Jed’s A Millionaire to name a few. Nathan has also been in numerous modeling campaigns and was cast in Jordan Peele’s movie “US”.
