Rime Arodaky Ready to Wear Rehearsal Collection

by

Parisian bridal designer Rime Arodaky recently introduced a Ready to Wear Rehearsal collection with her signature “rock’n’roll yet sophisticated” style millennials will love. The Arodaky rehearsal collection retails between $55 and $860 and offers a variety of options for the modern bride—opposite of the traditional route of a flowing bridal gown.

Although it is a rehearsal collection, soon-to-be brides who want to pull off a simple look with some edge are able to walk down the aisle in any of these pieces. The collection consists of dresses and jumpsuits with high-quality design while offering a more casual and comfortable wear.

“We’ve imagined pieces for the rehearsal dinner, reception, brunch, honeymoon, etc.,” said Arodaky.

Rime Arodaky started working as a junior designer in fashion houses such as Sonia Rykiel and Dice Kayek shortly after graduating from l’École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in Paris. After Arodaky’s blog Lalovelist—a bridal wish list filled with inspirations and creations—became a divine success, she developed the Ready To Wear Collection. Her vision was “the liberated bride who’s sexy, edgy, as well as modern.” According to Arodaky, her ultimate goal was to “break the barrier of what a traditional bridal world is supposed to look like, one creation at a time.”

Most of Arodaky’s inspiration derives from icons in the ‘70s such as Jane Birkin and Romy Schneider—including designers like Yves Saint-Laurent and Azzedine Alaïa. With women’s liberation at heart and the “emancipation of millennials,” Arodaky’s campaigns have women embracing modernism and feeling confident in what they’re wearing. She also challenges the “image of the innocent, offense-less bride and turned hers into a wild femme.”

We want to accompany each and every bride-to-be, not only during her wedding day, but also throughout the whole experience.

“The Rime Arodaky bride can find a look for every occasion and feel like a total rockstar,” said Arodaky. “We want to accompany each and every bride-to-be, not only during her wedding day, but also throughout the whole experience.”

In addition to the rehearsal collection, Arodaky includes the Baby Rime capsule, a collection that offers delicate dresses that’ll make your little one look beautiful and feel comfortable.

“Undeniably elegant and feminine, the Rime Arodaky Rehearsal collection is the perfect addition to any bride-to-be’s wardrobe,” said the design team.

The collection gives millennials the confidence to skip the traditional route and be comfortable in modern and edgy looks. All collections are sold exclusively on the website and at selected online retailers such as Shopbop and Net-a-Porter.

Hit the Beach in Nacre Voyage’s Swim Collection

by

The 2017 Nacre Voyage swim line takes women through a classy and sexy journey this summer with Italian fabrics sourced from European mills that supply high-end designers like YSL and Tom Ford. With seven swim silhouettes and 12 ready-to-wear options, women have a variety of custom silk, linen, and velvet skin fabrics to choose from. Influenced by Palm Beach circa 1960, Nacre Voyage brings sexiness and sophistication through its custom-colored pastels and prints this season.

“It’s not about fashion or trends, but about style—understated simplicity, a strong confident look, and timeless elegance,” said the Nacre Voyage team.

Nacre Voyage was created through the inseparable bond of two sisters, Catherine and Emmanuelle. Both women share a deep love for fashion, which they learned from their mother. Hence, Catherine and Emmannuelle embarked on an auspicious journey to develop Nacre Voyage. In addition to their bond and love for fashion, Emmanuelle’s experience in architecture and Catherine’s fashion background in design and communications played a big role in this stunning collection.

“From a young age, our dream was to work together and create something that we would both be passionate about,” said the co-founders.

According to the designers, “the suits and clothing are custom-dyed and printed with exclusive patterns and artwork drawn by Italian, Australian, and Parisian artists.”

Nacre, or “mother of pearl” in French, represents the aesthetic behind this seductive collection. The “mother of pearl” symbolizes quality, purity, luxury, and timelessness, among others. It is a perfect representation of each and every piece within the collection.

It’s not about fashion or trends, but about style—understated simplicity, a strong confident look, and timeless elegance.

“The Nacre Voyage style is built around this simplicity, purity of cut, handmade creations, exclusive designs, and richness of materials for a resolutely current, chic, and feminine fashion line,” said the team.

This collection won’t just have women looking good, but will have them feeling empowered. By wearing a piece from Nacre Voyage, women embody who they are: powerful, sophisticated, timeless, and unique. Wearing swimwear from now on won’t be about showing off that summer body you’ve been working hard for in the past few months; it’ll be about embracing your femininity, power, and pure beauty.

“Nacre is also an invitation to a journey to travel to the world’s end, get carried away, contemplate new horizons, and have the luxury of time. It’s the experience to live in freedom,” said the team.

Embrace your beauty and embody the sophistication, independence, and freedom in Nacre Voyage Swimwear this summer, and forever.

A Look at Lucy Hale’s “Pretty Little” Street Style

by

If there’s one person that can rock anything, it’s Lucy Hale. The Pretty Little Liars star wowed fans when she returned in season 6 with short hair–and it looks like she isn’t growing it back for now. One thing that I love about Hale is that she’s so fashionably dynamic. From long to short hair, gown to bomber jacket, bold to natural, Hale can pull it off. She doesn’t stick to just one look, and the fact that she can make any and everything look good is inspiring. Admired for her sharp jawline and on-fleek eyebrows, Hale’s cuteness can’t be compared. On that note, let’s continue to admire some of Hale’s street style.

Rag Poets’ Timeless Spring/Summer 2017 Collection

by

Rag Poets, a sister line of Z SUPPLY, launched its spring/summer 2017 collection that will make choosing outfits this season as easy as using your fingerprint to unlock your smartphone. This is the season where you look forward to dressing it up with vibrant spring/summer colors and feel free in anything you wear. But what about the days where you just want to lounge around and be comfortable, yet stay fashionable doing it? Well, thanks to designer Annie Luong and her team, Rag Poets brings a timeless and casual collection filled with basics fit for all ages that will transcend through every season (yes, that does mean fall/winter as well).

Based in Southern California, the entire collection consists of light-wear clothing to bring California fashion anywhere you go. And, to cater to cooler nights, it’s French terry and plush fleece pieces will keep you cozy.
“I definitely have a lot of the California lifestyle ingrained within the line—relaxed-yet-chic is in our DNA,” said Luong.
This timeless collection consists of classic silhouettes while staying fresh with new colors and prints.
“The colors are muted for Spring/Summer ‘17 because it seemed to be both where our consumer was focused and seamlessly tied into our travel and coastal inspiration for the collection,” said Luong.
The development of Rag Poets was put to work after a trip to Carmel, California, and being inspired by the everyday fashion similar to Positano, Italy, and Santorini, Greece. The team decided to merge the “everyday essentials” customers love from Z SUPPLY and bring it “on another level,” according to Luong. The goal was to create this sense of “relaxation and effortless” style from these places that will allow customers to feel like they’re on vacation anywhere, anytime.

With a focus on designing pieces to compliment and fit every woman, this season’s collection will inspire various ways to style your everyday wear. Whether you’re traveling, exploring/relaxing on vacation, or in the comfort of your own home, these pieces will fit appropriately.
“We don’t see her as one type of woman; we see this line transcending many different looks and trends,” said Loung. “The pieces in our collection are designed to be worn alone or mixed with the unique, trendy items women add to their wardrobe each season.”
Not only does Rag Poets intend for this collection to fit each season, but to embody the idea of timeless pieces that will last through generations. According to Luong, what really sets this line apart from other casual collections is the fact that each fabric was chosen with fashion and comfort in mind for its customers.
“The line is designed to drape and fit a bit more loosely so women of different shapes and sizes can wear each item stylishly and comfortably,” said Luong.

In addition to casual basics, the collection comes with prints and patterns, dip-dyes, and button downs to add a variety of options in your wardrobe.
“The great thing about Rag Poets is there is so much potential,” said Luong.  “Most women have yet to learn about our line, but once they have had the opportunity to try on an item or see the collection, we are sure we have gained another loyal fan.”
Rag Poets definitely excelled in creating a timeless, casual collection. It’s lightweight, California-feel and combination of neutral and fresh colors will have women looking classy, chic, and relaxed—not just for this spring and summer, but for every season.

Outfits Ideas You Need To See For Coachella

by

Aside from the amazing music, festivities, and people at Coachella, we can’t help but get excited about the fashion side of it all. At Coachella, people around the world have the ability to freely express themselves through fashion and be comfortable in what they wear. And the best part is, everyone is looking and feeling great. The vibrant colors, unique accessories, abstract and floral patterns of Coachella fashionistas create the love and happiness in the atmosphere. Keep scrolling for outfit ideas you need to see for Coachella this year!

Let’s start with this metallic bralette paired with shorts for the beautiful weather you’re going to be in. Make this outfit pop with this blue and gold plated triangle Coachella necklace with a hint of orange in the middle.

I love this multi-pattern wide-cut pants. They have a combination of colors that complement each other. If you have, or want something similar, pair it with a solid crop top like this black one. Throw on a sunhat to accessorize!

This white crochet romper is one of my favorites because it’s so easy to slip on! And, it has Coachella written all over it. Instead of black, I’d wear a red bandana for a pop of color.

Tulle and lace–two of my favorite fabrics. This pink tulle overlay maxi skirt and white lace crop-top will surely give you a soft and simple look at Coachella.

If you feel like being edgy for Coachella, look at these ripped blue denim overalls worn with Converse, a plain white tank top, and a cap.

Don’t forget accessories! Sunglasses, cross-body bag, or a floral head piece. Coachella wouldn’t be Coachella without these babies.

5 Shoes You Need This Spring

by

Spring is finally here and you know what that means: new season, new shoes! We can finally feel free by wearing flats and wedges any day. We can also stop worrying about wearing heels and slipping in the snow from the car to the venue. This spring, I noticed lots of pastel colors like periwinkle (my favorite) and nudes at Express and Forever 21. After window shopping for hours at the mall last Sunday, I’ve come up with 5 shoes you need this spring!

Flats
These periwinkle and pink nude flats from Express have Spring written all over them. Their suede material and pastel colors give a soft, subtle look for spring. These would also go great with an easter outfit as well. (Denim Lace-Up Pointed Toe Flat, $39.90Laser Cut Lace-Up Flat, $49.90)

Wedges
Tan wedges go with almost anything this season because of their neutrality. The cross straps will add edge and detail as well. You can pair these with jeans, dresses, and skirts. (Pure Instinct Nude Suede Caged Wedges, $36)

Courtesy of Forever 21

Heels
Adding these transparent heels to the list was a must because I fell in love after seeing Kim Kardashian in the Public Desire Alia strappy Perspex high heels. However, I’m not Kim and can’t afford them so here’s a cheaper option. Their transparency allows you to pair these with any outfit! (Faux Suede Lucite Ankle Heels, $34.90)

Courtesy of Toms

Sneakers
One thing I love during any season is to feel comfortable. And when I’m in the mood to dress comfortable, that means dressing casually. These tan, dotted-print Toms are an appropriate, casual, and comfortable shoe for the spring season. (Oxford Tan Shibori Dots Women’s Classics, $55)

Courtesy of Charlotte Russe

Booties
I love booties in the fall and spring because I consider them as a “transition pair.” They’re suitable for both seasons because they provide warmth and they up your style. Spring can have chilly weather some days, so these are perfect. (Qupid Peep Toe Cut-Out Booties, $25.00)

The 59th Annual Grammy Awards Recap

by

Last night’s 59th Grammy award show opened with Adele performing “Hello,” sending off a warm welcome to the audience and viewers at home. Following Adele’s performance, Grammy’s host of the night, James Corden, held the audiences’ attention with a dramatic tumble down the stairs, losing a shoe in the process. Immediately, we knew we were in for a crazy night.

Besides Adele’s gracious opening performance and tribute to George Michael (to which she had to start over after stumbling through the beginning), other acts included The Weeknd and Daft Punk who performed the latest hit, “Starboy.” Prior to The Weeknd and Daft Punk’s performance, they were introduced by Paris Jackson, who called attention to the pipeline protest.
“We could really use this kind of excitement at a pipeline protest, guys! #NoDAPL,” Jackson said.
The night was packed with star-studded performances. Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood performed “The Fighter.” Ed Sheeran as a one-man band sang “Shape Of You.” Kelsey Ballerini’s “Peter Pan” was combined with Lukas Graham’s “7 Years.” Bruno Mars sang “That’s What I Like” and performed a tribute to the late Prince. Maren Morris and Alicia Keys beautifully sang “Once.” Pantatonics did a tribute to the Jackson 5. Lady Gaga joined Metallica on stage. And John Legend had a beautiful duet with Cynthia Erivo for “God Only Knows” during the in memoriam tribute.

Presented by her mother, Tina Knowles, Beyonce opened her performance with a stand for motherhood and women power, saying that women “can’t be contained.” Her performance was by heightened her pregnancy glow, showing off her baby bump while performing “Love Drought” and “Sandcastles.” Beyonce also stood up for children of every race when she said that they should feel, “beautiful, intelligent, and capable,” in her speech after winning Best Urban Contemporary Album.

After James Corden almost tricked the audience that Kanye West would be the next presenter, Neil Portnow called attention to the President and congress to save the music industry.
“The Recording Academy, together with the music makers, call on the President and congress to help keep the music playing by updating music laws, protecting music education, and renewing America’s commitment to the arts,” he said.
Towards the end, a performance by A Tribe Called Quest raised awareness about the Muslim Ban. Busta Rhymes and Q-tip repeatedly referred to the President as “President Agent Orange” and chanted “resist” before stating that “bad folks must go.”
Winner of Record and Album of the Year, Adele, broke her award in half during her speech because she felt that Beyonce was deserving of the award instead.
“I’m very humbled and I’m very grateful and gracious, but my artist of my life is Beyoncé and this album to me, the Lemonade album, was just so monumental,” Adele said. “It was so monumental and so well thought-out and so beautiful and soul-baring. We all got to see another side to you that you don’t always let us see and we appreciate that.”

Anti-Valentine’s Day: How To Turn Valentine’s Day into Your Day

by

Valentine’s Day (also known as Single Awareness Day): a day dedicated to showing a significant other how much they are loved and appreciated, and a day to remind everyone who’s single that they are alone and to annoy them all day with romantic movies and commercials about expensive gifts.

As most of us have learned in elementary school, Valentine’s Day is intended to show appreciation for anyone dear to our hearts, whether it’s a relative, a friend or yourself. If you’re spending the remaining days left until Valentine’s Day wondering what you’re going to do to avoid all the gushy couples around you or in movies on TV, here’s a list of ideas on how to turn Valentine’s Day into Your Day.

Paint N’ Sip
Find a paint and sip class near you. Invite a friend or two and enjoy making art while sipping on some bubbly. What to wear: For this activity, I’d want to be cute and comfortable. Pull on a pair of leggings with a short sleeve turtleneck.

“Galentine’s Day”
Have dinner with a bunch of gal friends that you know who are single. Whether it be your co-workers, cousins, or personal friends, and head out for a night of drinks after dinner. Be sure to take have a designated driver or call a cab! What to wear: Sweater dress! It’s cozy yet still sexy for a gal’s night out.

Movie Night
Pick out a few movies–old or new–that you and your friends enjoy and have a movie night at home. Or go to the movie theater to see what’s new for the week (50 Shades Darker is perfect for girls night!) What to wear: Keep it casual, blue jeans and a T-shirt.

Pamper yourself
Use the day/night to get comfortable and pamper yourself. Go to a spa and get a facial, mani-pedi, massage, or aromatherapy. Your body is a beautiful temple that deserves to be treated with love and care. What to wear: if you’re at a spa or home, wear a warm fuzzy robe.

Date night with yourself
Make – or buy – your favorite dinner and dessert to have at home, along with your favorite wine, and put on your favorite movie. Nothing is better than having alone time to indulge in your favorite things without any interruptions. What to wear: Again, keep it casual or wear pajamas if you’re home alone.

Yoga & Brew
If you haven’t already, find a yoga and brew class near you. Enjoy a session of yoga and a beer after for extra stress relief. Or just a yoga class alone. It might be something new you might enjoy! What to wear: Yoga pants/leggings/shorts with a tank top.

Travel
Plan a mini road trip or book a mini vacation. Go somewhere new, either alone or with company, to explore a new city and it’s culture. It doesn’t necessarily have to be on Valentine’s Day since it falls on a weekday –  plan a trip for the following weekend.

Treat yo’ self
Take those Valentine’s Day commercials into consideration for the benefit of yourself. Love yourself and treat yourself to something nice for once if you haven’t yet – you deserve it!

Saying goodbye to President Obama is hard for some of us because it also means saying goodbye to Michelle Obama as the nation’s First Lady. Michelle Obama was not only admired for her intelligence, grace, and her strong ability to connect with people worldwide, but for her fashion sense as well. While performing her duties selflessly for the past eight years, she became one of America’s fashion icons–and still is. As we transition into having a new president and first lady, let’s take a moment to appreciate Michelle Obama’s most fabulous fashion moments as the First Lady.
