The NYFW Rundown

by

New York Fashion Week was full of its usual brilliant designs and extravagant parties, mixed with the September heat, but something was very much missing. Fashion goers were just starting to get used to the change of venues from Lincoln Center to Moynihan Station and Skylight Clarkson Square for the second year in a row, but they were not ready to say goodbye to the delightful Bill Cunningham. After passing away this summer, hearts all around the world mourned the loss of the iconic photographer. The sparkle of fashion week will always be a little dull, but Bill will always be a part of New York.

Must Have Handbags

by

Hey, Dolls! Out of all the different types of accessories, handbags are my absolute favorite. I’m very picky when it comes to purses and only purchase one if I’m totally head over heels about it. Once I start second guessing the bag, I don’t buy it. When buying a bag, I make sure it has a complete zipper closure, or at least has a section with a zipper. I’ve had my share of bad luck with purses without zippers that resulted in lost phones and makeup.

Gucci: A Family’s Legacy

by

Gucci. We all know the name and the iconic logo, but we do not know the story behind the prestigious Italian family and the history of their business. As every family goes through hardships during their own “storm,” the Guccis put each other through deceitful and devious challenges that led to major consequences for both the family and business. As told from the granddaughter of the brand’s founder Guccio Gucci, Patricia Gucci takes us through the beginning stages of her family’s brand and how it led to the rollercoaster love story of her parents in her first memoir, In The Name of Gucci.

by

A day at the beach can easily turn from great to irritating if you forget to pack the essentials. We hate the feeling of not packing the important items on our trip and realizing when it’s too late. Romantic Details From Winter Lennon

by

With lace detailing and soft neutral tones, Dallas-based clothing line Winter Lennon is the latest must-have brand in the fashion game. Their specialty is romantic and bohemian staple pieces that are versatile. The Crochet Maxi Dress is a great representation of the line: bohemian and neutral. The tunic-style maxi features crochet lace down the front and back of the dress with side slits, and the light and airy fabric is great to throw over a bathing suit.

The Perfect Striped Pieces for Summer

by

Hi, Dolls! Finally, our summer outing days are here! You can’t beat the feeling of the ocean breeze on a warm day, and what better way to dress for this season of sunny adventures than with the chic nautical look? Nautical stripes have a liveliness about them, regardless of being a simple combination of white, red, and/or blue that puts me in a good mood. Halter crop tops are a must and the crochet top by Vika Gazinskaya is bold with its shades of bright red and royal blue. The white trim crop top accentuates the waist and is sure to give you that summer feeling. The high waisted, horizontal striped shorts from Forever 21 are a great staple piece to wear with a solid colored top. The relaxed fit shorts feature buttons along the front pockets and mock pockets in the back.

The Best Spring Layers

by

Oh springtime, a reminder that winter is on its way out and summer is on its way in. Even though we’ve been having some warm days ranging in the 60s-70s, a jacket is still very much needed. If you’re like me and leave for work at about 7am, it’s usually a bit chilly outside. By the time I’m out of the subway and heading into the office, it’s about 10-15 degrees warmer, and around 6pm it gets a bit cooler again. Therefore, I definitely need the extra, but light, layer during my commute. Here are some of the best spring layers you need in your wardrobe!

Trend Alert: Marble Details

by

Marble has come a long way from countertops and sinks, and has been welcomed to the always trending world of fashion. The subtle print has been featured on sunglasses and used as simple stones in jewelry, and entirely on handbags and clothing. The marble stone print remains neutral by using tones of grey and white, while mixing in small amounts of black detail.

Why Jewelry is the Perfect Final Touch

by

They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend and, since my father is a jeweler, I completely agree! I have a few “best friends,” but I still shop around for all kinds of jewelry. Don’t get me wrong, I love receiving sparkly gifts from time to time and never have to worry about getting a piece of jewelry fixed….

DEMOO Parkchoonmoo A/W 2016 Show

by

After attending the Francesca Liberatore Collection at the Moynihan Station, the next show on my list for New York Fashion Week was the DEMOO Parkchoonmoo Show at Skylight Clarkson Square. The collection brought a special warmness to my heart after finding out it was inspired by designer Choonmoo Park’s mother and their Korean culture. The ...
