5 Must-Know Skincare Tips For Healthier-Looking Skin

Today we want to share 5 must know skincare tips for healthier looking skin. Having healthy skin doesn’t just help make every inch of you youthful and beautiful, but it can also put you in a good mood. With healthy skin, you can keep your worries away from any dryness, oiliness, damages, or even showing early signs of aging.

Apart from eating the right kind of foods, how you physically take care of your skin affects your overall skin quality. In this way, you can allow any products to fully sink in on your skin, maximizing any benefits that it can offer.

Moreover, listed below are the must-know skincare tips for healthier-looking skin:

  1. Visit A Dermatologist Clinic

One of the most basic yet most helpful ways to have healthier-looking skin is by leaving everything to the professionals. While experimenting with skincare products might be fun, you might cause more harm than good to your skin if you don’t know what you’re doing. With that, consulting with a licensed dermatologist would be the best choice for your skin.

Ideally, you should choose a trusted dermatologist clinic near your area. You can search for various clinics online like The Derm Detective or other similar companies, and you could begin comparing prices to see which has the best offer. As you visit a dermatologist clinic, ensure that they’re licensed to operate and have good reviews so you can assure that your skin is in good hands. While this can be a more expensive option, it’ll guarantee the best care for your skin.

  1. Apply Sunscreen Daily

Some people think that wearing sunscreen is only necessary when you’re going to be under the sun for quite a while. This may involve taking a trip to the beach, camping, hiking, or working during the broad daylight. While those can highly affect your skin, the bare presence of the sun can still affect your skin quality, whether it’s directly hitting your body or not.

No matter where you’re going, you should wear sunscreen daily to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun. Even if you’re traveling in a car and won’t expose your skin intensively out in the open, the rays can still get through your skin, causing permanent damage.

You can look for a sunscreen that can offer maximum UVA and UVB protection. However, for daily use, going for at least SPF 30 can protect your skin for up to 97%. Just ensure that you reapply during the day to keep the protection on your skin.

  1. Cover Your Skin From The Sun
skincare tips

Just because you’re wearing sunscreen doesn’t mean your skin would be 100% protected from the harmful rays of the sun. No matter how high the SPF you choose, it can’t guarantee full protection from the effects of the sun. With that, you should ensure that you provide an added skin protection by physically blocking out any direct light on your skin.

The best time to allow your skin to absorb the healthy nutrients from the sun would be around sunrise until 10 AM. After those hours, it’d be better to keep your skin away from direct sun exposure as it could burn and bring harmful effects to your skin. If you’re working under the sun for a while, you should protect your skin by bringing an umbrella and a cap, as well as wearing clothing that can cover most of your skin. Additionally, just try to stay inside a shade for as long as possible.

  1. Know Your Skin Type

Before you purchase the most popular skincare product out there, you need to identify your skin type first. This will let you know if the product would benefit you or worsen your skin condition. Your skin type could fall between being dry, oily, combination, sensitive, matured, or acne-prone. You can take a closer look at your skin in the mirror and see which skin type you have.

As you know your skin type, you can now look for products ideal for your skin. Ideally, you should steer away from any products that can make your skin condition worse. For example, if you have dry skin, it’s best to avoid products intended for oily skin as it can heavily strip more moisture away, leaving your skin flaky and unhealthy.

  1. Be Gentle On Your Skin

No matter how great your skincare products are, if you don’t give your skin gentle care, you might not fully enjoy its benefits on your skin.

As you take a shower during the day, you should use your towel to pat dry your skin rather than scrubbing the entire fabric for a quicker dry-up. Along with this, you shouldn’t try to scratch your skin intensely as it can remove layers from your skin. You can apply natural ointments on your skin to relieve any itchy sensation, preventing you from harming your skin.

While you’re young, you might not be able to appreciate the importance of skincare fully, especially that you still have youthful and supple skin. However, as you age, you might see early signs of skin aging, and it’ll be difficult to reverse those conditions. With that, you should take care of your skin as early as possible to keep you happy about your skin and allow it to be healthy for as long as possible.

The Lab Founder Alexandra Sherman on Summer Skincare

Alexandra Sherman, Founder of The Lab. Photo Credits: Cara Robbins

Born and raised in Miami, Cuban-American entrepreneur Alexandra Sherman is the founder of bespoke skincare studio The Lab. Situated in Las Vegas, The Lab offers customized facials and esthetic services, including scalp micropigmentation and permanent makeup. Sherman founded The Lab because she identified a market space in the skincare experience that could capitalize upon cutting-edge technology to offer clients customized services. At the heart of the intersection between science, aesthetics, and business, The Lab offers state-of-the-art treatments to celebrity clients all over the globe. We were so excited to speak with Sherman about her career in wellness and her skincare secrets for the summer.
What made you go from criminal justice to the wellness industry?
When I moved from Florida to Las Vegas I couldn’t transfer my Private Investigator license as easily as I would have liked to. I started researching my options and decided I would love to go into skincare and become an esthetician, so I followed that path.
What inspired you to found The Lab, and what services do you offer?
I was inspired by quality products and high luxury facials that I felt the Vegas market had a need for. I always felt like I had to travel for an advanced facial treatment and wanted to do something different here. We offer specialized Biologique Recherche facial treatments, custom Lab facial treatments including some of the best high-tech equipment available to estheticians, along with Gentleman’s facial treatments. Additionally, I am a trained permanent makeup and scalp micropigmentation artist and will be offering those services closer to the end of the year.
What is your morning skincare routine? What everyday staples do you use to start off the day?

The Lab x Biologique Recherche Collaboration. Photo credits:

My morning skincare routine usually includes: A milky cleanser (Lait VIP O2 for oxygenation and brightness), a good exfoliant (for chemical, I choose Biologique Recherche Lotion P50, and for manual exfoliation, I opt for Valmont’s Face Exfoliant), a brightening and/or hydrating mask (my favorite go-to combination is Masque Visolastine + and Masque VIP O2), rhe appropriate serums I select for the day (I usually do a cocktail of Biologique Recherche’s Amniotique for hydration with Elastine for smoothing wrinkles). I follow these serums with my Vitamin A (AVST Moisturizer by Environ) and Vitamin C by Environ. I moisturize depending on my skin that morning. If I am more prone to break out, then I will use Biologique Recherche Demopurifiante, but otherwise, my go-to is generally Creme VIP O2. I ALWAYS finish with Fluide VIP O2 to protect from external aggressions and pollutants along with an SPF 50 (I like Glow by ColoreScience)
What about your nighttime skincare routine?
My nighttime skincare routine is generally the same as morning, except I switch the products out based on my needs. I also skip the SPF and Vitamin C and just do the Vitamin A. This is the time I’ll add a purifying mask after my chemical or manual exfoliant if I feel like my skin was stressed throughout the day.

What are the most important protective measures you would suggest to take care of your skin? (i.e., sunscreen, diet, hydration, sleep, exercising)
All of the above are important, but I would say applying and making sure to consistently re-eapply sunscreen is the most important thing you can do. If you are particularly prone to hyperpigmentation, wearing sunglasses is especially important, as the eyes are the main point of entry to where the sun can enter the body and cause damage. Being hydrated is also extremely important; many first signs of aging can be confused for dehydration or excess sugar intake.
Are there on-the-go products you keep in your purse to touch up your skin throughout the day?
Yes, I always keep brush-on shield by ColoreScience for sunscreen re-application throughout the day. If I’m working out, I keep Eau Micellaire Biosensible by Biologique Recherche for a quick cleanse and L’Eauxygenante as a refreshing mist with AHA’s to balance my skin.
What advice would you give on proper skin protection during the summer?
Please make sure to wear and RE-APPLY SPF. Hats and sunglasses are an effective way to keep the sun from damaging your skin.
Do you have any beauty tips for creating a lightweight, water-resistant makeup look by the pool or beach?
Finding a makeup line that is non-comodogenic and doubles as an SPF is a great way to achieve a flawless look while protecting yourself. Using a primer and foundation that have sunscreen and a light-to-medium tint is a great excuse to wear makeup by the pool or beach. There are so many lip glosses that also have SPF: choose one make sure you are protecting your lips as well.

Masque Visolatine+ Photo Credits:

What are the top beauty trends of the summer?
Thanks to Hailey Bieber, hydrating masque Visolastine+ for has really been a huge hit with skincare lovers. I find that people are really gravitating more towards natural makeup and adding vitamin C to their regimen, which is exciting to see.
What summer foods would you recommend for hydrating and nourishing your skin?
Fruits and vegetables– those particularly with high water content are ideal. Adding cucumbers and lemons to your water is a nice way to hydrate, while adding a refreshing taste to your water.

Jamnatura – Exceptional Beauty Products Made All-Natural

Ask any woman how important skin care is in 2021 and we’re sure the overwhelming answer is “very important.” That would absolutely be the correct. Evidence of this is recent sales of skin care products. Skin care sales in the United States in 2020 generated sales of more than 1 billion U.S. dollars.

Why is Skin Care So Important

The truth is that our skin is our largest organ and our skin cells are changing all the time. This means that taking care of your skin isn’t something you should think about ‘sometimes’ but something you take care of every day. In the form of a consistent skin routine.

Another reason why skin care is so important is that how you take care of your skin today will determine how your skin will look like in 20 or 30 years from now. What’s most important in taking great care of your skin is the products you use. You never want to use skin care products that will harm your skin. Instead go for products that are natural, chemical free and match your skin type. While there are certainly thousands off online skin care products, only a small percentage offer natural and chemical free products.

About Jamnatura

That’s why today we are thrilled to introduce Jamnatura, an amazing online beauty store offering jamnatura100% natural and chemical free beauty and skin care products. What set’s Jamnatura’s natural beauty products apart from other beauty products we’ve reviewed is that their diverse range of products are infused with Jamaican herbs and other natural ingredients native to the Caribbean region.

The first thing that we fell in love with was their product line and more importantly seeing all of the natural ingredients being used in each product. You just felt more healthy reading all of the ingredients in each product. We also felt that the level of transparency in showing their customers all of the ingredients is exactly what you want to see in companies that claim to have all natural and chemical free products.  In so many skin care products, we see fancy labels with a one or two sentence descriptions of the product. This was definitely refreshing to see.

Jamnatura Products

Jamnatura products are made by hand with only organic and natural ingredients with no preservatives or chemicals.  Something else important that we’d love to point out is that

“ALL Jamnatura cream formulations are made with no water, which removes the need for harmful or unnatural preservatives.”

Over a 3 day process, they gently infuse herbs & spices in organic fractionated coconut oil (derived from steam distillation). Next they add sweet almond or argan oil, along with a blend of seed oils, aloe vera, butters, beeswax, vegan wax and essential oil blend. They also use their own handmade tinctures, grapefruit extract, colloidal silver, manuka oil, and sodium lactate to preserve & stabilize their creams

Here is a list of the different categories of products offered by Jamnatura. You can also download their entire product list.

The Top Benefits of Natural Emollients

Today we want to talk about the benefits of natural emollients. We live in a world where everything is heavily advertised. Things as simple as emollients are sold to us under names that we can’t even pronounce well. To break it down for you, emollients are an essential component of moisturizing the skin and hair. They fill in the fine lines and dry patches and smoothen it out.

Emollients have existed amidst us for as long as we can remember. However, over time, they have been modified through chemicals. We need to remember that natural products are safer, which is why we will be talking about some natural emollients and natural emollient properties.

Shea butter

Sourced from the shea tree’s kernels, shea butter is the best friend for people with extremely dry skin types. This emollient works like magic by providing deep hydration to the deeper levels of the skin. There are two grades of shea butter – refined and unrefined. Refined grades have a low concentration of unsaponifiable, while unrefined grades have a high level of unsaponifiable. The unrefined grade of shea butter is more in demand, though.

Castor oil

This affordable and highly effective emollient is derived from the seeds of the castor plant. It can be used in 3000 different ways. So, you can understand how magical it is. Castor oil contains about 90% ricinoleic acid and is a stable form of triglyceride. It is globally sold and used. People love it for its impeccable lubricating property. From skin to hair and nails, castor oil takes care of all your grooming needs. It is also inexpensive, which makes it accessible to just about anyone.

Squalene oil

This oil is just gaining its much-deserved popularity in the world of skincare. Being derived from olive oil, squalene oil is based on hydrocarbons. It has proven its capability of increasing cell turnover while decreasing fine lines. People with dry skin types are sure to love this lightweight emollient.

Argan oil

Argan oil has high levels of tocopherols, which is an excellent ingredient to be present in an emollient. The level of unsaturated fatty acids in this oil is over eighty percent. Over thirty percent of the unsaturated fatty acid in argan oil comprises Omega-6. Argan oil makes for amazing hair oil and imparts glow to the skin when used as a facial oil.

Cocoa butter

Derived from whole cocoa beans, cocoa butter is one of the most popular emollients, as every other moisturizer in the market claims to have cocoa butter. Its consistency reminds of edible butter, and the scent takes you back to a chocolaty fantasy. It is very easily available and provides baby-smooth skin.

Jojoba oil

Jojoba oil can easily be called the most lightweight of all emollients. It is not only used in skincare but also in hair care. Jojoba oil is quickly absorbed by your hair and skin without leaving any sticky residue. This makes it perfectly fine to be used under makeup and sunscreen.

Unorthodox Skin Care Tricks That Will Surprise You

Today we want to share a few unorthodox skin care tricks that will surprise you. They say that beauty is skin deep, and nothing is truer. Your skin is what creates your face value, and has great impact on the confidence one feels in their appearance. Nothing ruins your self-confidence when your skin doesn’t look its best. You could include a million and one skin care products in your clear skin regime, but sometimes it is the most unusual and unorthodox remedies that will do the trick. Here are a few skin care tricks that may seem weird, but are surprisingly very effective.

1. Sometimes, ugly and irritated rashes and blemishes appear at the most inopportune moments. Using concealer and other makeup to cover them can be difficult, especially since makeup sometimes serves to aggravate them. Keep a tub or tube of diaper rash cream in the fridge at all times as it is a quick and easy hack to combat swelling, inflammation, redness, and any pain associated with annoying pimples. Simply put some diaper rash cream to the pimple and adjoining affected areas and the spot will practically disappear overnight.

2. Use black tea as an astringent for your face. Black tea is especially effective for oily skin. Brew some black tea and freeze it in an ice cube tray. Rub an ice cube all over your face but do not wipe or rinse off. If used regularly, this process will allow you to get a handle on your greasy skin.

3. Steam your face to open up your pores and loosen any grime. Opening your pores up before you cleanse your skin maximizes the strength of the cleanser and exfoliants you use. Simply soak a soft muslin cloth with water and place in the microwave for 30 seconds. Once the cloth is steaming, place it over your face for a minute. Repeat the process three to five times. This will open up your pores and soften your skin, thus allowing any products you use to penetrate deeper and work more effectively.

4. Contrary to popular belief, skipping moisturizer can actually make oily skin worse. Oily skin can often be a symptom of dehydration. The best way to hydrate oily skin is actually facial oil. This may seem counterintuitive, but when you use face oil, your skin will balance itself out as it will recognize that it does not need to over produce oil.

5. Detox your skin from all the environmental toxins and free radicals that we are exposed to on a daily basis with this simple remedy. Mix some Epsom salt, Baking Soda, and Sea Salt in your bath water and take a nice long soak. These will release the toxins from your skin and bring a freshness to it. Detoxing your skin also minimizes the appearance of any zits and pimples on your body.

6. Use Coconut Oil to remove your makeup every night. Coconut oil is gentle on skin and removes all traces of makeup without causing any damage to the skin or drying it out. You should use the tips of your fingers to massage the oil into your skin and wipe off using soft cotton or a clean face cloth. Be careful not to rub too hard so as to not damage your skin, especially the sensitive skin around your eyes.

7. If you suffer from extra dry skin, especially if it is the flaky sort, use dandruff shampoo to sort it out. Instead of your usual face soap, wash your face with dandruff shampoo once a week. Dandruff shampoo balances the yeast levels in your skin, which are the cause of flaky dry skin.

8. Make your perfume last all day with this simple hack. Put a dab of Vaseline or other unperfumed petroleum jelly on your wrists and then apply your perfume on to the wrists. The Vaseline will hold on to the perfume better than your bare skin will and make the fragrance linger all day.

9. If your skin is sensitive and gets inflamed and irritated easily, there is a simple hack to calm and soothe it. Soak a soft muslin cloth in cold raw milk and place it on your freshly washed and cleansed face for 20 minutes. The pH level of the raw milk, the proteins, and the cool temperature, all contribute to soothing the skin.

5 Tips For A Youthful Appearance

Today we want to share 5 tips for a youthful appearance. Achieving a youthful appearance is ideal for anyone. Looking younger is easily achievable with a few beauty, lifestyle, and diet hacks. If you lack the knowledge or skills to achieve a more youthful appearance, here are five tips.

Improve your smile

tips for a youthful appearance

Your smile can say a lot about you as a person. With bright and healthy teeth, you are bound to appear more youthful

You do not necessarily need cosmetic procedures to improve your teeth. Instead, you can brush regularly, eat a good diet, and attend regular dental checkups. If you do have a concern and want to correct your teeth, then that can help too. You can get in touch with your dental office to arrange an appointment for the first step to regaining your confidence, which will encourage you to smile more and appear more youthful.

Use the right skincare

Skincare is a crucial part of an everyday routine and can help you achieve a younger look instantly. Using the right products can help brighten and tighten the skin.

Cleansing properly will slow down the signs of aging. Using a gentle foam or exfoliator will ensure that you effectively remove all dirt and grime. Then, use nourishing moisturizers and eye creams that contain brightening ingredients, such as vitamin C or caffeine.

Anti-aging serums are ideal too. These can be used for a young age. To avoid saggy skin, always pat your products in and/or push them up when applying them.

Drink more water

Hydrated skin is only achievable if you drink more water. Water eliminates toxins from the body and hydrates the skin. In time, your skin will appear smoother and more youthful.

Water is an essential part of anyone’s diet, so always ensure to drink plenty. It can effectively decrease the signs of aging and maintain youthful skin.

Avoid the sun

Sun damage can quickly age a person’s skin. Avoiding the sun will help you slow down the signs of aging.

If you do spend time in the sun, then always make sure to use SPF. A strong SPF of 30 plus will block the harsh sun rays and protect your skin. You should try to apply SPF on your face every day, even if you are not in the sun. Your skin can age as a cause of pollution. Thus, protecting your skin at any cost will ensure you keep you looking young.

You may be confused hearing that exercise can help make skin appear more youthful. But, it can have a significant impact on the appearance of your skin. Exercise increases blood flow, which eliminates waste and keeps skin cells vibrant and energetic.

Participating in any type of exercise can help increase your blood flow. You do not necessarily need to work out vigorously to boost your blood flow. A gentle yoga session can help boost blood flow and work to improve the skin.

There are many ways to improve the appearance of your skin to achieve youthfulness. Simply improving your lifestyle routine, increasing your water intake, and making better skincare choices can make your skin feel and look younger.

3 Iconic Becca Cosmetics Products to Stock Up On Before They Close

Becca Cosmetics, a cruelty free makeup brand owned by Estee Lauder and sold at Sephora and Ulta, has a cult-like following and is known for its innovative highlighters. Unfortunately, Becca Cosmetics is shutting down permanently in September, largely due to the pandemic. According to an official statement posted on their website in February: “At BECCA, an accumulation of challenges, together with the global impact of COVID-19, has sadly been more than our business can withstand, and we have had to make the heartbreaking decision to close down the BECCA brand at the end of September 2021.” However, it’s not too late to still rock a glowy face full of the brand. Here are 3 iconic Becca Cosmetics products to stock up on before they close, and dupes for when they do.

1. Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter ($38)

Perhaps the product that launched Becca into the public eye, the Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter is unlike any other, because it melts down into a creamy finish once applied, despite its powdery texture. Their signature color, Champagne Pop, works great with warm or olive skin tones. Apply with a brush for the best results.

Dupe: ColourPop Super Shock Highlighter ($8)

This buttery formula is a perfect contender for The Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter, because it shares the unique powder to cream texture. There are currently 17 shades on the ColourPop website, ranging from a medium brown for a contour effect to a luminous purple if you’re going for the space girl look. However, this one should be applied with the fingers for the most effective pigmentation.

2. Ultimate Lipstick Love ($24)

Coming in a whopping 40 shades, the best aspect of this product is the fact that it is one of the only lipstick shade ranges on the market that comes with an indication of its undertone (warm, cool, neutral) so you can find the perfect match for your skin. Its creamy, hydrating formula is perfect for those who suffer from dry lips. It even has a magnetic casing so you never have to worry about losing the top half of the tube!

Dupe: Clinique Even Better Pop Lip Colour Foundation ($20)

Coming in an impressive 30 colors, this lipstick also helps you find your perfect shade and undertone match to your skin by using Clinique Shade Match Science. It comes in three “dress codes”:  Naked, a soft, neutral sheer tint for the natural look, Casual, a step up between tame and dramatic for an everyday look, and Glam, an intense, in your face pop of colour that you can see across the room.

3. Zero No Makeup Virtual Foundation ($36)

This innovative product is so subtle that it is difficult  to argue whether or not it qualifies as makeup or skin care, with Becca claiming that it’s the perfect hybrid of the two. Its effects are so subtle that even straight cis men report wearing it without embarrassment. The blurring matte finish is perfect for those with oily skin, and only takes a pea size dollop to get the full effects!

Dupe (Kind of): Maybelline Face Studio Master Prime ($10)

Becca’s Zero No Makeup Virtual Foundation is so unique that there is simply no other product like it on the market. While there are other mattifying skin products that can give you a blurring effect and help soothe your imperfections, they’re not labeled as foundations. However, there are some lightly pigmented primers that work similarly and can be worn without foundation for a subtle effect. The Maybelline Face Studio Master helps with pore minimizing and works best for those with oily skin.

How can you Simplify Your Skincare Routine?

Today we want to show you how you can simplify your skincare routine. There seem to be two schools of thought with skin care, and they revolve about time.  One group may be interested in drawing things out, in taking that extra minute to really massage the skin, or to pretend they are at the spa.  I’ll be honest, that is the group I am in now!  But it wasn’t always that way.  I remember a busy house, with three children under the age of 9, running a part time business from home, with a husband that was often traveling for business, dogs running about…you get the picture!  If you are experiencing that sort of reality now, here are a few tips:

(1) Take five minutes once a season to assess your skin.  Our skin changes seasonally. The dry, cold winter winds will be dying down soon, and spring will come.  Going through your few key skin care pieces each season will help you put others out of sight, and help you stay streamlined and faster, with less clutter, when you go about your daily routine. Organization only takes a few minutes, but without it, we are left drowning in chaos. Stash what you aren’t using, in a basket under your sink. You want to be aware of expiry dates, but keep what you will use every day, on your counter, in a line up – ready to go!

(2)  Remember why you do it.  I know this may sound remedial, but hang in there with me for a second!  Why do you take the minute or two to cleanse and moisturize your skin?  For the same reason you put the mask on yourself first on a plane, before you help others. If you have no fuel in the tank, you cannot help others. Take the time now to cleanse and moisturize, and you will feel better all day, your skin will have less issues, and you will be fresh to help others. Don’t feel guilty for taking a minute or two for self care.

(3) Stick to the basics.   Our skin only needs a few basics to be healthy. (1) Your skin needs washed in the morning, even if all you do is rinse it in the shower. Your skin needs cleansed more before bed, especially if you have makeup on. Use a gentle cleanser, makeup remover if you need it, or buy an all in one cleanser that will also help take makeup off, like a cleansing balm.(2) Your skin needs to exfoliate. This is something that is overdone.  You only need to exfoliate 1-2X a week.  When I was younger, I seemed to need it less. See what your skin feels like seasonally. Choose a gentle exfoliator, like the Reveal Exfoliating Facial Foam with AHA fruit acids, and replace our your morning cleanser with that 2x a week. Your dead skin will be removed, and your other products will work better. (3) Moisturizer. This is necessary for almost everyone.  Apply right after patting dry your face after washing, and press into skin. Add eye serum like Awaken around your eye area – one product will not do both areas.  Some younger people will prefer an oil, like our new Serenity Balancing Blue Tansy oil that helps balance oil production. Use once or twice a day. Perhaps use a moisturizer with sunscreen all-in-one for speed, during the day, and use your oil at night.  If you have dry or more mature skin, use your moisturizer first, then apply oil on top.

(4) Do you have to mask? The short answer to this is no.
Especially when you have young children, you do not have the time for a mask. I remember scaring mine with one!  What you can do, is wait until the weekend. You can make a fun show of showing them how you put it on, and /or wait until they are engrossed in something like a TV show that takes fifteen minutes. I used to multi task and wear it while I folded laundry!  Choose a mask that only takes ten minutes, and is right for your type of skin.  If you miss a week or two, it won’t really matter, but try to do this sometimes, for your own self love and self care. Busy week, sure. But take ten minutes extra on a weekend is a great way to remember that you are more than just a busy worker, busy parent, etc.

What is “forest bathing” and how does helps mental and physical health?

Isn’t exercising on a treadmill or reading a book enough to unplug and relax? It turns out, maybe not. We live in a world that is continually moving forward. We buy computers that have faster speed, we subscribe to social media that is instantly updated, and while all of this is exciting, it can also cause stress in many people. It might be that getting physically and mentally healthy may have everything to do with actually being outside. Experts are becoming more and more aware about the benefits of outdoor exercise, including evidence that exercise does improve skin tone and vitality.

Introducing the Japanese art of “Forest bathing”

What is forest bathing? Forest bathing, or “shinrin-yoku,” was coined by Mr. Tomohide Akiyama in 1982, as a way to reconnect with nature. He worried that people would become unbalanced with all of the emerging technology and that they would forget about the peace and beauty of nature. Also called “taking in the forest atmosphere,” the practice means returning to your five senses.

A study analyzing this method of communing with nature was conducted in 2010, and it found that “forest bathing” reduced stress and cortisol levels, and anxiety.  Believe it or not, breathing pine has something to do with this.

Simplify Your Skincare RoutineThe Ayr Skin Care product line was developed by company founder, Kirsten Thomas, who  always had very sensitive skin.  She began developing skincare solutions in 2001, then took cosmetic formulation classes, and got serious about creating a line of products for sensitive skin.  As she hit her 40s and 50s, she wanted strong anti-aging benefits without harsh synthetic products, but that would also be ethical, vegan and cruelty free. Thomas uses Fair trade and organic ingredients in almost everything that the company produces.  She also writes a weekly blog with topics on things like mica mining safety, the dangers of ingredients in skin care, allergens from perfumes, as well as skin care tips for maturing and sensitive skin.

The Ayr Skin Care product line has its origins from creams, serums, soaps and oils Thomas developed to meet her sensitive skin care needs. The company is named after the Scottish coastal town where Thomas’ mother was born – Ayr. More information is available at, by email at [email protected]  or call (949) 545-6955.

Great Tips on how to Turn Back the Clock to Look Younger

Today we want to share with you some great tips on how to turn back the clock to look younger. You might think that it’s going to be a massive challenge to try and turn back the hands of time and look a few years younger. However, this is not the case and the reality is that there are some simple ways that you can regain your youth. So, let’s explore a few of these possibilities and ensure that you do take the right steps to preserve your natural beauty.

Protect Your Skin

Turn Back the Clock to Look YoungerFirst, you should make sure that you are taking an effort to protect your skin from any potential damage. This will go a long way in making sure that you have the best chance to turn back the clock to look younger. Your skin is the biggest organ your body has and if there are any issues here it’s going to immediately age you. One of the main issues that cause your skin to age prematurely is exposure to the sun and having no protection from the powerful rays. You just need to make sure that you are using the right products here. People often assume that sunlight can only damage your skin on hot summer days and this is not the case. Instead, experts suggest that you should always make sure that you are using the right form of sun protection, even when it is overcast and the sun is hidden behind a cloudy sky.

Workout The Right Way

Research has shown the benefits of working out on the body and the mind countless times. But did you know that the right forms of exercise can reverse the effects of aging on cells throughout your body? According to experts, this is certainly the case and by working out regularly you will feel and look far younger. You just need to make sure that you are not putting your body under too much pressure. This is all about completing the ideal exercise for you.

Swimming is a great choice to explore. Swimming can help you reduce issues with inflammation which we’ll discuss more a little further down. It can also be used to reduce tension in your joints and muscles to ensure that you feel far better. Remember, an exercise doesn’t need to be strenuous to ensure that you do gain the full benefits. Instead, you can think about simply going for a walk or even taking a stroll on a treadmill. Intense exercise can actually have a negative impact because it could lead to an accident that will put you out of commission for weeks.

Deal With Issues Of Inflammation

If you are looking for one of the main processes that cause an individual to age, then you should definitely consider the impact of inflammation. Inflammation occurs due to the pressure that the body is put under through the day from working out to stress. It can cause you to feel intense levels of pain and also lead to different signs of aging developing earlier than usual. Inflammation has been linked to everything from chronic pain to the development of wrinkles.

One of the ways that you can tackle the issue of inflammation is with an ice bath. Believe it or not, research shows that bathing in ice can have incredible benefits for the body when used the right way. Both celebrities and athletes are starting to buy into this concept in a big way. If you are interested in this possibility, then do make sure that you complete the right level of research. It’s important that you are not putting your health in jeopardy for this treatment. If in doubt, consult with a professional who can provide this support for you.

Build Your Skin Routine

Next, you need to think about building up your skincare routine. We have already mentioned protecting your skin but that’s just one piece of the puzzle. You need to go further than this and make sure that you think about how you can give your skin everything it needs. A big part of this is moisturizing. As you get older, your skin is going to lose its natural moisture and you have to be prepared for that change. One of the ways to do this is by making sure that you use a moisturizer daily. It’s also worth ensuring that your skin has plenty of nutrients and minerals as well as other natural materials.

One of the ways that you can do this is by giving yourself a facial. You might think that a facial is going to be expensive. However, it doesn’t have to be. Instead, you can think about making a facial out of materials that you have lying around your home like oatmeal. This can work wonders when applied the right way.

Use The Right Products

Turn Back the Clock to Look YoungerFinally, a key thing that you need to think about is whether you are using the right products. There are various products on the market that can help with the rights of aging. You just need to ensure that you are making the right choice. So, what possibilities should you consider here? Well, you might want to think about whether the product that you are using matches your age. This is a key question that you’ll need to ask when you are exploring different beauty products and it pops up in places like Clarins Beauty FAQ. There are different products available depending on your age and choosing the right one will ensure that you get the greatest benefits from this type of treatment.

It’s also important to check the reviews of the different products available. They are certainly not all equal and it’s important that the product you choose will be able to give you the key results that you desire.

We hope this helps you understand some of the best ways to make sure that you can easily turn back the hands of time and ensure that you look years younger. Be aware that this isn’t about avoiding aging completely. After all, ageing is a natural process that we all go through. Instead, it’s about making sure that you look your age and not a year older or just shave a few years off.
