The Rosette Embellished Ponytail Tutorial

Is it me, or does the title of this blog sound absolutely gorgeous and romantic? The name alone of this hair tutorial has me thinking of the deep, warm, and inviting colors of fall, such as burgundies, wines, and plums. Fall already seems to be about hair details – after all, it was a huge contender in this year’s New York Fashion Week – so this hairstyle couldn’t be more fitting for the time. Despite no cute accessories for this look, you’ll find that there really is no need. contributor Melissa Cook, once again, comes up with a breathtaking hairstyle that can carry its own, one that is “ten times cuter than the average pony look.” We welcome you to check out her latest idea: The Rosette Embellished Ponytail.

Step 1:

Step 1

Begin by brushing through the hair to remove any tangles, and part the hair in the preferred spot. Separate off small sections of hair on each side of the head.

Step 2:

Step 2

Bring the two sections to the back of the head and over the rest of the hair, then tie it together with an elastic band.

Step 3:

Step 3

Now braid this small ponytail section into a basic three-strand braid and tie off the end with a second elastic band.

Step 4:

Step 4

Roll the braid up and towards the elastic band at the top, creating a rosette shape.

Step 5:

Step 5

Pin down the edges of the rosette with four to five bobby pins, making sure they stay hidden underneath.

Step 6:

Step 6

Spray the style with a medium hold hairspray, and you are ready to go!

Who doesn’t love a good ‘ol ponytail? I know I certainly do. One reason alone: it’s simple and fast! According to Cook, the Rosette Embellished Ponytail is “perfect for any season or occasion and will have all your friends oohing and ahhing at your amazing styling skills.” Friends will certainly be “oohing and ahhing” at this pretty and feminine style, which Cook feels is what “every girl needs in her beauty rotation.” I’d say I’m on board.
