Anderson Cooper Says Ex-Partner Will Co-Parent Son Wyatt
On Thursday, Sept. 23, Anderson was a guest on The Late Show, where he shared a never-before-told story about his fashion-designer mom with host Stephen Colbert. Gloria, a member of the affluent Vanderbilt family that provided the name for Tennessee’s Vanderbilt University, died in 2019 at the age of 95.
Anderson, who prefaced his story by sharing that his mom was “kind of nutty,” went on to explain that 10 years prior to her death, the then-85-year-old Gloria tried in earnest to convince her son to let her carry a child for him. The CNN anchor, who was not yet a parent at the time, ended up welcoming his first child, son Wyatt, with a surrogate in April 2020.
According to Anderson, his mom had seen a gynecologist at the time, who informed her she could still carry a child. When Anderson was concerned this meant she wanted to have another child of her own, Gloria assured him that wasn’t the case.
“Sometimes people wonder how, during interviews, I stay stone-faced and listen to people say bats–t crazy things—I grew up with Gloria Vanderbilt,” he quipped. He then added, “She says to me, ‘Honey, I’m not talking about having a child of my own. I mean, that’s crazy,—I’m 85…I was thinking, you get an egg and fertilize it with a sperm, and I’ll carry your child.'”
Anderson went on to say he was “stunned” and that he told his mom her plan was “just nuts.” He continued, “That is so weirdly oedipal on a whole new level.

During the Disney Upfronts in May (the streamer is owned by Disney), Kris Jenner teased the new series, calling it a new chapter. “In the new show, you’ll see us evolving as a family,” she said. “Fans want us to be who we are and since moment one, they’ve been emotionally invested in our show just like we are. The fans will love seeing us continue the journey. I can’t say much about what’s coming, but spoiler: we’re going to look fabulous and everyone’s going to watch.”

Kim Kardashian’s 75-inch ponytail extension at the 2021 Met Gala cost a whopping $10,000, according to her hairstylist.
Kim Kardashian arrived at the 2021 Met Gala on September 13 in a show-stopping, face-obscuring Balenciaga outfit that inspired endless memes. As it turns out, there is even more to the story. The SKIMS founder, 40, paired the bold all-black ensemble with hair extensions that cost a cool $10,000, according to her hairstylist Chris Appleton.

The star’s stylist revealed as much during an Instagram Story Q&A on Tuesday, Sept. 21. A follower asked the hairstylist to the stars how much Kim’s 75-inch ponytail at fashion’s most exclusive event cost, leading Chris to divulge the sizable sum.
On the red (or, technically, white) carpet on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on that intimate Monday in September, Kim was joined by Balenciaga’s creative director Demna Gvasalia, who similarly wore an all-black face-obscuring ensemble. (Demna’s concealed identity initially led spectators to believe that Kim had arrived with her soon-to-be ex-husband Kanye West.)
Kim’s ensemble at the American fashion-themed gala was not the only part of her look to go viral that evening. Her longtime makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic confirmed that she had a full face of makeup on underneath her mask. Mario shared the look on Instagram on the day of the gala, captioning it, “Behind the mask 😉 @kimkardashian.”

Why Kerry Washington Enjoys Playing High-Stakes Characters
Hollywood A-listers are assembling to fight on behalf of crew members, who become “like family” while bringing their TV shows and films to life.
Kerry Washington, Mandy Moore, Joshua Jackson, Sarah Paulson, Susan Sarandon and more stars are speaking out in support of IATSE. Known as “The Union Behind Entertainment,” the organization is seeking better conditions for 60,000 behind-the-scenes workers in theater, TV and film productions, ranging from cinematographers to costume designers.
IATSE said it has spent months negotiating contracts with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), but announced on Sept. 21 that the producer group “does not intend to make any counteroffer” to IATSE’s recent proposal. In a press release posted to social media, IATSE said the AMPTP has “failed to work with us” on addressing the “most grievous” problems in their workplaces.
The union is calling for change when it comes to excessively unsafe and harmful working hours; unlivable wages for the lowest paid crafts; “consistent failure” to provide reasonable rest during meal breaks, weekends and more; and workers on some streaming projects getting paid less than those on traditional blockbusters, even on productions with bigger budgets.
“It is incomprehensible that the AMPTP, an ensemble that includes media mega-corporations collectively worth trillions of dollars, claims it cannot provide behind-the-scenes crews with basic human necessities like adequate sleep, meal breaks, and living wages,” the group wrote.
IATSE members are mobilizing in preparation for a nationwide strike authorization vote, which would “demonstrate our commitment to achieving the change that is long overdue in this industry.”

Rihanna’s next album is one of the most anticipated in all of music, so whenever she talks about it, millions are all ears.
In the midst of rolling out her Fenty lingerie line, the multi-Grammy winner explained that she’s taking time to “experiment,” suggesting her new music will sound way different than her previous work.
“You’re not going to expect what you hear. Just put that in your mind,” Rihanna said before the taping of her “Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 3” event, which will air Friday (September 24) on Amazon Prime Video.
“Whatever you know of Rihanna is not going to be what you hear,” said RiRi in the video. “I’m really experimenting. Music is like fashion. You should be able to play. I should be able to wear whatever I want. I treat music the same way. So I’m having fun and it’s going to be completely different.”

Rihanna released ANTI in 2016, which featured hit singles like “Work” and “Needed.” Last year, she said she had begun recording new music.
It still isn’t clear when Rihanna is slated to drop a new album or even what it’s called. Hopefully, she’ll speak more about it as it gets closer to an official release date.
