Ed Letter: Dec 2016/Jan 2017

by

I don’t know what happened, but it seems like a moment ago I was standing backstage at New York Fashion Week in February, and now it is nearly Christmas. While planning this holiday issue, I couldn’t believe how quickly this past year has gone by. I owe that, in part, to a very busy schedule, lots of collaborations, and video games. Yes, video games. Thank you, Nintendo, for keeping me sane during this emotional Election Year.

Although 2016 did have some rough patches, what I enjoyed most of all was getting to work with some of the kindest and talented people I have ever met. I was honored to go backstage at NYFW FW16 and get the scoop on all the trending hairstyles, makeup tricks, and nail art. I was excited to check out Lauren Cecchi New York’s gorgeous bag collection up close as well as speak at AmeriChina’s New Wave of Fashion Design Pioneer in New York City as a guest panelist. For months I got to work with some seriously talented designers who will be doing big things in the new year, and I am now looking forward to what 2017 will bring.

Our cover stars, the handsome Jack Griffo and beautiful Jenna Ortega, are also looking forward to the new year. If you aren’t familiar with these rising stars just yet, then turn to page 110 and see what they’ve got planned.

Happy Holidays, everyone. And here’s to a shining, hopeful new year.
