Luis Antonio Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

I started my New York Fashion Week itinerary with the Luis Antonio Spring/Summer 2015 Collection for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Inside The Pavilion at Lincoln Center, I met Mdivani Monroe, a very kind fashion designer/blogger who complimented me on my Michael Kors Larissa boots. I had a great view of the models once they turned on the runway, allowing me to see every angle of the exquisite designs.

Luis Antonio is a Puerto Rican designer who understands how to portray the chic woman in his pieces. All of his models had their hair lightly teased in romantic-esque ponytails and wore strappy open-toe laced heels. His collection opened with a fitted long sleeve A-line dress that ruffled at the end. The top of the dress was a vibrant design of red and white lines, while the bottom was the same design but in blue and white. Antonio has the skill of mixing two vibrant patterns together and instead of the designs clashing, he accentuates the figure of the model by adding a belt of fabric to bring the two patterns into one look. One of the dresses was a maxi style/A-line double-patterned dress that moved graciously as the model walked. Antonio used the blue and white vibrant line pattern for the top of the dress and a vertical blue, red, tan, and white striped fabric from the waist down. Everything as tied together with a piece of red fabric around the model’s waist.

Some other pieces included a long sleeve turtleneck mermaid dress in a grey and white vibrant line pattern, a striped strapless and fitted jumper with flare bottoms, a sequin embellished lace dress, and a rope patterned sweetheart cut dress. His collection consisted of striped patterns, ruffles, A-line cuts, and plunging V-necklines. Some of the dresses kissed the ground and had a short train, while others were cut at the knee.
