After almost three years since their last full-length album, Mylo Xyloto, and five months since the release of “Atlas” from the Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack, Coldplay have finally unveiled a new song titled “Midnight” to the public.
The video, directed by Mary Wigmore, is mysterious and tranquil, and the sound undeniably resembles that of Bon Iver circa 2011. And while there is currently very little information about this song, Coldplay fans everywhere are speculating whether this is just a creative teaser video, or the first official single off of Coldplay’s highly anticipated sixth LP.
Knowing that lead singer Chris Martin has always been one to experiment and dabble into different genres (he has, in fact, worked with artists from Kanye West to Faultline), what do you think of Coldplay’s newest sound?
