Seth Lael Talks Working Class, Opportunities, & San Francisco In New Album ‘Bird Strings’

“I’ve spent the last 5 years working as a sound recordist documenting inspiring people ranging from Bobby Seal, the founder of the Black Panthers to Bill Gates,” explains singer-songwriter, Seth Lael. “I’ve spent time with working class folks struggling to make ends meet in hospitals, courtrooms, and on the road, and I’ve also spent time learning about what goes on in these 50 states. These songs are my reflections of those experiences.”
Lael is of course talking about his latest release, Bird Strings. Taking inspiration from all corners of the world, including his own city San Francisco, Seth digs deep to express his dissatisfaction with the struggle of the working man in a town so full of money. With the help of veteran producer/engineer McKay Garner (Red Hot Chili Peppers, J Dilla, Michael Buble) and violinist/viola player Rocio Marron (Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Quetzal) Lael puts together an album that’s as beautiful as it is harmonic, seamlessly blending together elements of Americana, Jazz, Folk, Pop, and Indie Rock. The album drops September 28th, and is up for consideration for the 58th annual Grammy Awards. Lael will also be hitting the road for a West Coast fall tour.
