Today we want to talk to you about the power of social proof. Social proof has always been an important factor in advertising, but with the adventure of digital media and online culture new forms of it have emerged and older practices have been adapted to the new environment. Social proof has different forms, but in each, the power of group thinking and collective mentalities influence individuals like the force of gravity.
Expert social proof is the seal of quality given to a brand by an expert in that industry or field. It tells customers and users that a product satisfies their lofty standards and fits in with the other products they offer. It’s a powerful association.
This Expert social proof is not difficult to achieve if you have the right know-how. First your product will have to be of a certain quality and standard. After that it’s simply a case of contacting the right people and sending them samples.
Celebrity Social Proof
In the past celebrity social proof meant the biggest stars on the planets and getting their endorsements was far from easy, or cheap. This market has now diversified significantly with the rise of influencer marketing. A celebrity now means someone with a YouTube channel and few thousand followers.
Fashion brands looking to take advantage of this effective social proof strategy will have to identify suitable celebrities in their niche and start following them. Depending on the budgets involved a brand can gain endorsements from different levels of influences.
The online marketplace has really opened up in recent years and people want to know selective details about a product before they hit the buy button. They want to know the product’s quality, its delivery details, and what the fit is like. This is why reviews and ratings make all the difference.
It is now commonplace for fashion brands online to contact you following a purchase and ask for some feedback. This feedback is vital social proof for the website and brand, but it also helps out fellow shoppers interested in the same fashion lines.
Wisdom of the Crowd
It’s a well known social phenomenon that people follow crowds. If there’s a large queue outside a restaurant people assume it’s high quality, if you don’t know the speed limit on a highway you follow the other traffic. This phenomenon also manifests online.
Fashion brands usually have a Most Popular section on their website, or a Trending Now section. This gives you the products and articles most people are interested in and it’s effective at directing attention. Similarly, a lot of social media activity indicates better quality.
Wisdom of Friends
One global consumer survey suggests that 77% of people say they are more likely to buy a new product if it’s recommended to them by a friend or family member. This review management is a strong indicator of effective social proof.
Fashion brands can benefit from. This powerful form of social proof by expanding their reach on social media sites like Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. The more friends are connected to a brand and share the updates, the more the brand will grow its appeal.
Today we want to discuss why you need to embrace influencer marketing. Influencer marketing is a type of marketing that involves using influencers to endorse products using social media. The brand and the influencer work together to convey the communication and marketing messages. These are the reasons you need to embrace this marketing style.
It Saves Time
Engaging an influencer to help with your marketing saves you time. You do not have to create social media content alone. This person understands the fans better and so they will make posts that resonate and align with the followers.
Furthermore, your potential customers will contact the influence before entering your sales funnel. This means they are likely to get your product compared to clients you attract through other channels.
It Creates Returns for Businesses
Many businesses are making significant returns from influencer marketing such as cosmetics influencers. Besides, this marketing strategy is the fastest growing. According to research, this method converts more clients who ultimately stay with the brand for a long time. That is, you get to attract much longer high- quality customers when you use influencer marketing.
The strategy enables you to build meaningful and long-lasting relations. You get loyal and high-value customers since social media users are likely to recommend a product or service to their buddies and family once, they test and prove its worth.
When you use influencers or hire a brand ambassador agency, you expand your audience and positioning online. The fans of the influencer or tradeshow models who may not be your clients will begin to know about your brand, who you are, and the solution you are providing. The fans of the influencer who may not be your clients will begin to know about your brand, who you are, and the solution you are providing.
But for you to maximize influencer strategy, you need to provide valuable content. That is your product or service should add to the influencer’s and the follower’s social media presence.
Helps You Build Trust
Influencers have taken their time to interact with their fans, build trust, and credibility. People are constantly looking for genuine and authentic content and when an influencer endorses your product, it builds trust and transparency. The followers respect their recommendations and content. Therefore, you can share this influencer’s content and they may ultimately begin sharing yours. When they do this, their significant flowing begins to learn your message.
When you partner with an influencer, it may be the beginning of an important relationship. When you connect and you intend for it to be in the long run, the connection may amount to real Opportunities in the future
Helps You to Effectively Reach Your Targeted Audience
When you decide to try influencer marketing, it’s best to partner with relevant individuals. That is the influencer niche should align well with your brand. By partnering with a relevant influencer, they share your content with social media users interested in your niche. The audience already understands your niche and so you don’t have to spend additional funds on testing them.
Enables You Avoid Pushy Advertising
The traditional advert can be pushy. These ads do not resemble a paid commercial. Also, they target a given audience and so they will not come out as pushy which may repel the potential customers.
Influencer marketing such as cosmetic influencers saves you time, helps build trust, creates a return for the business, improves brand awareness, and help you create essential partnerships.

This past year, I have seen many people, both ones I follow and admire on social media as well as dear friends of mine, start YouTube channels with such gusto that made it seem so simple and effortless. I mean, all you have to do is turn on a camera and start talking, right? For some, it may seem like such a natural thing to do, but for others—including myself—throwing yourself onto the Internet via video can make you feel a bit vulnerable, and maybe even self-conscious. With so many YouTubers out in the world blowing up over what feels like overnight, joining such a community can sometimes come off as being intimidating. From high-quality edits to unbelievable viewing numbers, seeing others’ success may hold you back from actually taking a step forward and in turn building up your YouTube confidence to start a channel and post a video. Trust me, I have been there. However, I have also conquered the fear and have turned it into something I truly love. After personal experience with starting my own YouTube journey, I am happy to share not only my channel, but advice as well to help or inspire any of you to take a deep breath, look in front of the camera, press record, and start sharing your own story.
Network With Others Putting yourself out there, a raw and unfiltered you that only people who truly know you see, can be scary—there is no sugar coating that. But once you step out of that comfort zone of sharing who you are with anyone that watches, you’ll find yourself wanting to do it more and more. When you start your own channel, share it like no tomorrow! Post on your social media networks and show others how excited you are about what you are doing. It will resonate with others when they see someone glowing through the embarkment of a new chapter in their life. You’ll connect with people from all over the world, be inspired by them, feel amazed by their support, and even create lasting friendships with some. Find Your Niche If you like gaming, share your favorite video games or film yourself kicking butt in all of them. Share any tips or tricks that you may have to fellow gamers out there or people who may want to start gaming as well. If you’re a beauty babe, help people learn how to flick a cat eye or create a go-to look that you have been rocking as of late. Are you a foodie at heart? Cook up a yummy recipe or vlog yourself trying the most delicious dishes at local restaurants! Whatever you find to be your niche in life, flourish in it.
Be Imperfect You don’t need to have the most amazing editing skills out there to create videos—nor the most high-quality of cameras. Use what you have and make the most of it. By showing your one-of-a-kind personality with others out there, you’ll find an audience that is ready to click on your videos as soon as you post them. Be real and don’t try to be a picture-perfect person. As long as you stay true to who you are, that will reflect right on screen. So, if you drop something (which I have done), if your hair is a bit out of place, or if you can’t seem to say the “right” words, that’s completely okay! Your beautiful, authentic, and imperfect self is what will make your channel you. Create At Your Own Pace Posting videos consistently is important if you want your audience to grow; however, that isn’t everything. Quality over quantity does mean something. When publishing a video, you want to be sure that it is something you’re proud of—not just because others are posting up to five videos on a weekly basis. You need to create at your own pace. When I started my own YouTube channel, I myself found myself inspired and uninspired at times. Sometimes you may find yourself filming ideas one after the other, and other days you won’t. When you don’t, don’t force it. Let the inspiration come to you, and when it does, sit down and get to filming. I promise you’ll surprise yourself with how much your creative process will grow over time. So, if you’ve been debating for a while whether or not to join YouTube, I encourage you to with all your might. Show everyone out there how extraordinary of an individual you are through creative videos that you create. All of us at Cliché are rooting for you!

Chances are if you’ve seen Dracula, Lord of the Rings or Star Wars, you’ve heard of Sir Christopher Lee. According to reports, Lee passed away at the age of 93 at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
Christopher Lee is most known for his work on the 1958 film Dracula. The image of Brahm Stoker’s classic vampire character is forever ingrained into the minds of the public with the face of Mr. Lee.
Even if Vampire’s aren’t your thing, perhaps you’re on team Tolkien and a fan of the Lord of the Rings franchise. In which case, Saruman was played by none other than this famed actor.
The filmography list for this man is magnanimous and well deserved. From voicing over the Corpse Bride by Tim Burton, to providing his voice for video games, his profile stretches beyond the big screen. Extensive, professional, and engaging are definitely three words that can be applied to this man.
Although, he mainly filled villainous roles, the man behind the character was vastly different.
“Children are our future and what a disgrace it is that children are dying from poverty and hunger.”
Sir Christopher Lee was a supporter of organizations like UNICEF, which focuses on providing support and opportunities to impoverished children and mothers of underdeveloped countries. Also, Mr. Lee has supported Cinema for Peace, a charity that uses movies to promote peace and awareness which uses cinematic works to help provide awareness towards issues that must be fixed in order to help those in need.
Sir Christopher Lee died due to heart and respiratory complications. Thoughts and condolences to Mr. Lee’s loved ones. The film industry has lost one of it’s finest.
It’s wedding season and for those deemed suitable for maid-of-honor duties, you know the road is not always smooth and silky. Of course you want to give your best friend the day of her dreams, but you don’t want to take the easy road out. You want to spice up her last weeks of freedom, while at the same time give her peace of mind during the final stretch of stressful planning. Most likely, you have high hopes for her bridal shower and are looking for ways to make her day bright and fresh. You’ve booked the venue, invited the ladies, scheduled the catering, and even managed to keep it all a secret. Now you’re in a pinch trying to figure out how you’ll spend the few hours that your bride is not opening gifts.
If you’ve ever attended a bridal shower, you know that quirky-girly games are just, plain and simple, part of the bill. Bridal shower games give your party just the right amount of distraction, while engaging everyone and filling the room with guilt-free laughter. Here are a few guaranteed-to-be-loved bridal shower games that will kick any party up a notch:
1. Sweeten Up the Bride
While the cocktails are being served, and your bride is socializing, encourage the party-goers to take a colored index card provided on each table. On this they will write the word that best describes the bride-to-be. Collect the cards in a savable container and read them out loud to your bride before the food is served. This collection of encouraging words is something she can go back and read when life gets her down, or she’s simply remembering her special day. 2. Toilet paper wedding dress
After the attendees are fed, tell every table to nominate a model for your next activity. Then whip out the 82 pack of toilet paper. Each table will have 10 minutes to create a miraculous wedding gown out of toilet paper that will be judged by the bride. Whichever dress the bride chooses as most beautiful, that table will receive some sort of candy prize and an exclusive picture with of the faux bride and real bride. 3. Pin the Undies on the Groom
To end your party with a smash, tell the ladies to send up a different nominee from each table. On a poster board, tacked with a blown-up picture of the groom, the ladies must blindfoldedly pin pieces of lingerie. When each lady is finished, and the room settles from laughter, the bride will evaluate which panty is in the most outlandish location – that’s the winner!
Although party planning might be stressful, keep these games on hand for guaranteed favor of the bride, and you’ll be one step closer to sighing in relief. To all the maid-of-honors out there wiping sweat from their brows: what are your winning bridal shower game ideas? Tweet us now @clichemag!
It’s summer and we all know what that means. Days spent at backyard barbeques and nights spent working on the smoky residue of campfire on our pillows. Ah, that wonderful campfire life. It doesn’t take much besides the warmth of the fire, a semi-comfortable lawn chair, cold beer and probably bug spray to make you sigh happily. But we must not forget the one crucial component to summer-time fire-sitting – the peanut butter to the campfire’s jelly: The S’more.
The simple marshmallow-chocolate on graham cracker sandwich. Yes, this goddess of dessert doesn’t need any alterations to deliciously satisfy you. However, if you’re looking for a way to kick your s’more game up a notch and blow your friends minds, here are a few gooey-good ideas: The Indoor S’more

So you’re the one throwing a barbeque this year. Your chairs are packed and you’re ready to head off to the local July Fourth Parade, knowing that shortly after the bagpipes and fire engines pass, you’ll be scrambling back home to prepare for company. If you’re an old pro at the game, you know the ins and outs of humid-holiday-barbeque. But if you’re wondering how to ensure the town raves about this year’s barbeque for years to come, be sure to tackle these tips! 1. Cater to the Foodies
Most likely, those attending your get-together will be expecting some type of alcoholic beverage, and nothing says Fourth of July like home-made Sangria. Check out this “Best Party Sangrea Recipe” recipe from Stacy Slinkard at wine.about.com
1 Bottle of red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Rioja, Zinfandel, Shiraz)
1 Lemon cut into wedges
1 Orange cut into wedges
1 Lime cut into wedges
2 Tbsp sugar
Splash of orange juice or lemonade
2 Shots of gin or triple sec (optional)
1 Cup of raspberries or strawberries (may use thawed or frozen)
1 Small can of diced pineapples (with juice)
4 Cups ginger ale
In addition to rich sips, your friends and family will all admit that half the reason they came over is grilled meat. Rather than the typical hamburger/hot dog duo, impress your friends with these Kraft Sweet BBQ Chicken Kebabs.
1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-1/2-inch pieces
2 cups fresh pineapple chunks (1-1/2 inch)
1each red and green pepper, cut into 1-1/2-inch pieces
½ cup KRAFT Original Barbecue Sauce
3 Tbsp. frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed 2. Liven Things Up!
Although your red-white-and-blue clad friends will be content chatting it up on the deck, you’ll gain major points when you whip out the lawn games. Croquet, horseshoes and “bags” are well-loved, and can be played by kids and adults alike. Be sure to consider the weather, too, when preparing the fun. Have games set out inside, like a deck of cards, Bananagrams, or Apples to Apples – just in case rain decides to join the party. 3. Make Sure Sparks Fly
When everything is said and done, your friends are in high spirits, and you’re done fussing over refilling the ice bucket, it’s time to relax under a star filled sky. Set up a safe place in the lawn or street, clear from trees and traffic, and be sure to have at least 15 solid minutes of fireworks at your disposal. Then hand off fire-work duty to a trusted friend or family member – now’s your time to kick back. Afraid of what the neighbors might say? Invite them to join in too! Fourth of July without fireworks is like Christmas without Santa – it’s simply impossible.

The summer is known for it’s huge blockbuster films that aim to reach the largest possible audience, but there are films that manage to snag some of that attention with a combination of great actors and compelling stories. These are the kind of films I’m inclined to avoid, mainly because I’m more concerned with entertaining myself with fun films; I leave all the drama for the fall and winter when all the fun things have frozen over, because, you know, it’s cold outside. Anyway, for every one blockbuster there are at least two movies that a girlfriend will force her significant other to watch. I’ve listed some of the movies you might want to keep an eye on when the hits won’t do. However, I’ll call it as I see it, meaning, if the week has a certifiable hit, you and your man are bound by the movie gods to partake.
The Fault in Our Stars
There are plenty of premises that evoke emotion, but one definite champion of heart fiddling pictures are romance films of doomed young love. This isn’t your Romeo and Juliet-esque tragedy. No, this is more along the lines of girl-meets-boy, boy-loves-girl, and they both have cancer. Some of you might recall a certain Mandy Moore film, early 2000s, leukemia, something of a “walk to remember”–ring a bell? Like I said, a budding couple with cancer butting in reminds us that love can be fleeting, yet unforgettable, when it’s time is hindered by impending death. Divergent star, Shailene Woodley, stars in this film, and judging by the trailer, brings a Natalie Portman-ish emotional aura.

He won’t stand a chance when you derail his tracks towards 22 Jump Street this particular week, because here’s a double whammy of female oriented summer Cockbusters you’ll more than likely drag him to. First off there’s Lullaby, another cancer-themed heart-wrencher in the month of June, follows lead, Jonathan (Garrett Hedlund), through a journey towards father-son reconciliation. This film stars a considerable acting ensemble: Amy Adams, Terrence Howard, and Jennifer Hudson among the other actors make this film somewhat bearable in my eyes.
Release Date: June 13, 2014
All Cheerleaders Die
All Cheerleaders Die, the lesser of these two options, appears to be a high school revenge story in the vein of Jennifer’s Body a la The Craft. This film is promoted as a Horror-Comedy, so one could expect plenty of scantily clad females, slapstick slaughter, and, of course, in-your-face female fueled vampiric flamboyance. I’m pretty sure every guy dies in the end.
There’s a not a man I know–within my circle that is–that has actually seen the first film, Think Like a Man, including myself (I might’ve seen it in bits and pieces); so, it goes without saying that I will, literally, purge myself of this foresight with the anticipation I’ve stockpiled within myself for this summer’s upcoming blockbusters. Think Like a Man Too follows the multi-ethnic group of friends from the first film to Las Vegas for a bachelor/bachelorette party and adventure-filled weekend. How much of this is based on the book remains to be seen, but the trailer is free of Steve Harvey, so what was a loosely book-based movie has likely become even more loosely based.
Release Date: June 20, 2014
Transformers: Age of Extinction
Seriously, like, don’t even play with his emotions this week. Transformers, babe. Transformers. If you made him watch Think Like a Man Too the week prior to this date, you OWE him this. Otherwise, we all want a divorce/breakup.
Release Date: June 27, 2014
This movie is about two rejects, Gretta (Keira Knightley), who’s dumped by her longtime songwriting partner boyfriend (Adam Levin), and Dan (Mark Ruffalo), a record executive who is metaphorically dumped by his label. Gretta’s raw post-heartbreak music pulls Dan from his dejected self-loathing trouble, and he uses his talents to shepherd her budding career into legitimate star status. A girl who writes songs about her ex and makes hits? The movie title is Begin Again? This stuff writes itself, no matter how swiftly tailored it is for the ladies.

And So It Goes
If you’re seriously considering brushing off Dawn of The Planet of the Apes for something more spritely and heartwarming, then you’re likely gravitating towards a finely aged comedy film the likes of which only Rob Reiner (Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, The Bucket List) could direct, however, you’ll probably have to tranquilize your man prior to carting him into the theater. Mega old Oren Little (Michael Douglas) is a crotchety narcissist hellbent on selling one last house so that he could retire and fade into obscurity, until (here we go), his son, for whatever reason, dumps his granddaughter at his doorstep to take care of for some time. The twist promises to unravel Oren’s plan all the while opening his cold Grinch-like heart to what little friends he has, his possibly single neighbor (Diane Keaton), himself, and his granddaughter, the source of his new found responsibilities. Yay.

Bad Teacher’s Cameron Diaz and Forgetting Sarah Marshall’s Jason Segel combine forces in this week’s comedy film, Sex Tape, and takes on Planes: Fire & Rescue; which, if you have children, will likely supersede your Sex Tape desires. However, with these actors, this title, and slim pickings among competitors, it should be relatively easy to convince him to check out a movie about a couple who mistakenly share their sex tape among their friends and family.
Release Date: July 18, 2014
The Rock, Channing Tatum, and Scarlett Johansson all vie for you greenbacks this week, and it could be glorious for everyone. The Rock, Dwayne Johnson, stars as the titular demigod Hercules who must become a hero once again after spending some time as a mercenary in ancient Greece.
Release Date: July 25, 2014
Scarlett Johansson tests the superpowered waters once again, but this time in a leading role in the film Lucy; a story about a drug mule turned superhuman virtuoso via chemicals ala Bradley Cooper in Limitless, except it’s Scarlett Johansson. Your man will have no qualms with Lucy, that’s for sure.

It’s another Marvel film. Yes, we have been spoiled–some would say “blessed”–this year, and I have yet to hear complaints, but let’s face it, you’re going to this movie. What? You’re seriously not in the mood? You don’t want to watch an epic sci-fi about a motley crew of space pirates in pursuit of a mysterious cosmic talisman that which could threaten all life in the galaxy? The GALAXY?!

Try prying him away from this childhood treasure. I dare you.

Now, I was inclined to make this all about Expendables 3, but that’s a testosterone-soaked, bullet-riddled, action-packed, napalm-scented action star ensemble. Men move with a hive-mind whenever these movies come out, and the ladies are the one’s forced to watch; however, this could be easily altered. If he owes you then you might want to check out The Giver. Another Young Adult novel-turned-movie and coming-of-age sci fi flick that, I’m pretty sure everyone has read in middle school, and more than likely will be altered so as to be able to compete with the likes of The Hunger Games and Divergent (which wasn’t a smash hit). The movie is about a boy who lives in a seemingly perfect world, but soon learns of the harsh realities of life when he begins working with an old man known only as “The Giver.”
