ScHoolboy Q Tops Charts Again with ‘Blank Face’ LP

by

After the chart-topping success of his first major-label debut album Oxymoron, ScHoolboy Q, also known as Groovy Q, has faced high expectations with the recent release of Blank Face LP. Luckily, the West Coast rapper has not disappointed. Never sticking to one sound, ScHoolboy Q is a hard, gritty rapper with an unique vibe that sets him apart from his East Coast brothers. ScHoolboy Q is also able to masterfully “break the rules” with rapping, mixing his verses and, at times, taking a more aggressive take to his tracks.

Chance the Rapper Exceeds Expectations with ‘Coloring Book’ Mixtape

by

The highly anticipated Coloring Book by Chance the Rapper dropped May 12 and proves to be a masterpiece that intertwines both smooth, imaginative hip-hop verses and soulful, heart-wrenching gospel sermons. In various interviews, Chance the Rapper has made many references about his religious background and how it has influenced and guided the independent rapper’s music ventures for his latest mixtape. Fans had a taste of Chance’s experimentation with blending hip-hop and gospel on his memorable verses on Kanye West’s latest album The Life of Pablo. On Kanye’s track “Ultralight Beam,” Chance steals the spotlight with his religious allusions as he croons along with a gospel choir and organ in the background. Teaming with Kirk Franklin, Chance delivers his own sermon in his third mixtape as the Chicago native masters a new sub-genre of hip-hop.

Ariana Grande is back! Her third studio album, Dangerous Woman, finds the 22-year-old wanting to assert her womanhood while still remaining the youthful girl we’ve come to know. What We Think About Drake’s New Album ‘Views’

by

Drake’s highly anticipated 4th studio album, Views, dropped exclusively on Apple Music and iTunes on April 29th. I personally sat and waited until midnight to stream this album, tweeting through all the excitement, waiting to be in awe again of another great album delivered by the “6 God.” Drake has always had a way of speaking for us “twenty-somethings,” from our desire to achieve greatness, to finding the right person to love, to wanting to make our families proud. When the time finally came, I pressed play and was surprised to hear something different then what I expected from the artist I have come to know and love.

Coldplay ‘A Head Full of Dreams’ Album Review

by

Nearly eighteen months after Coldplay's heartbroken, almost mournful Ghost Stories album (which seemingly refers to frontman Chris Martin’s dying marriage with actress Gwyneth Paltrow) comes the light at the end of the tunnel: A Head Full of Dreams. And just as Martin suggested to Zane Lowe of BBC Radio 1, the band’s seventh album definitely sounds like ...

by

After the release of “Hello,” which was fully expected to become the hit single that it is, the 27-year-old artist, Adele, released her third album, 25, on November 20.
