How to Wear Colorful Eye Shadows and Eyeliners

Last spring’s beauty trends involved gorgeous and delicate pastels, but this spring we’ve opted for a little more oomph. We’ve incorporated three vivacious colors – greens, blues, and purples – to show you how to wear these colorful eye shadows, eyeliners, and eye shadow sticks. We recommend Clinique’s Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes or Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick because these beauty products work as wonderful multitaskers.
The eye shadow stick works as well as eye shadow primer because its formula allows the eye shadow to adhere better to your lids while intensifying the color of your choice.
Fashion Gone RogueAlthough the eye shadow stick works the same as powder eye shadow, they differ in how the product is applied. For instance, the eye shadow stick is quick and easy to use as you swipe the product over each lid. If necessary, use a blending brush to help distribute the color more evenly or neatly. Pick any of the three spring colors to add a beautiful brightness to your face while also creating a breathtaking appearance.
For another popular but more subtle look, keep your eyelids bare while adding a pop of color (or all three) to the inner corner of your eyes – adding nothing else but mascara (although it can be done with a cat eye if you so choose). This style is striking and beautiful but most of all unsuspecting.
Lastly, despite the eye shadow stick having a thicker tip, it can still be used in the same way as a regular eyeliner crayon or pencil. A thicker line with colorful eyeliner is a unique and distinctive combination, so you might as well dare to be bold with a strong cat eye, winged-eye, or graphic eye.

In case the eye shadow stick is not for you, these stunning makeup ideas can still be achieved with your typical powder eye shadow or basic eyeliner. Alternate suggestions for this look include: Stila ‘Stay All Day’ Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner, Pop Beauty Eyeliner Pencil, and Morphe Individual Eye Shadow.
We encourage you to try these gorgeous colors because they’re invigorating, upbeat, and it’s time to break out and enjoy spring!

Colorful Spring Eyeliners

Tossing the contents of your junk drawer, donating the dress in the back of your wardrobe that hasn’t been worn since the day you bought it two years ago, moving around furniture until everything looks shiny and new – it’s the time of year to turn the phrase “out with the old, in with the new” into your mantra, but who said spring cleaning has to stop at tidying your closet? With these colorful spring eyeliners, you’ll be able to revamp your look to better welcome the change in season!s1393685-main-Lhero

Urban Decay has crafted eyeliners pulled straight from a rainbow with their 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner. All it takes is one smooth swipe of Woodstock to get a rich boost of color that will weather a full twenty-four hours of wear without smudging or running. This shimmery electric pink will add a fun punch of color that mimics lush, blossoming flowers.s1579382-main-Lhero

Want to cool down? Try Stila’s Mint Green Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner. The creamy formula glides on like a dream and offers the option to smudge before it locks down so that blazing sunshine and hours of wear stand no match for this liner’s lasting power. This shade acts as a fun eye brightener with a minty twist.

Everyone loves a good scandal, and Rimmel is no exception. The Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Turquoise is the secret to eyes that smolder. This dazzling shade is as captivating as the clear, blue skies of spring. The soft kohl formula gives this pencil versatility, leaving you with the option to add a simple pop of color to a neutral look or change the game with a vibrantly smudged out look that screams Scandaleyes!

Natural Spring Blushes

Our cheeks seem to be glowing with the excitement of spring festivities to come. Adding some blush on them to go with our smiles provides the perfect subtle yet colorful touch. This season’s natural spring blushes are deliciously eye-catching in the color array of oranges, peaches, pinks, and more.

Being able to achieve a natural, dewy face is a go-to beauty look for many of us in these warmer months. It’s a quick apply-and-go that will last all day and stay flawless in any activity you do. Blush is a main piece in this look, providing color to cheeks making skin appear healthy and naturally flushed.

Popular blush colors this spring have kicked it up a notch by being both vibrant and pigmented (but not too much so that we end up resembling Effie Trinket from The Hunger Games). Powdered blushes are not the only ones in the blush game this time around; along with them are tint, cream, and stick blushes, all of which have become just as popular–if not more–than the powder quality blushes.

Benefit Cosmetics never disappoint in delivering us not only incredible products, but ones that are packaged adorably too. Their Box O’ Powder blushes have been a beauty favorite in our makeup collections for what seems like forever. Rockateur is one of their recent blush creations in a rose gold color that we adore. It shines beautifully in the sun’s heat, containing the best components in order to show off the color brighter. With a blush brush, sweep Rockateur onto the apples of your cheeks or cheekbones and your look is set for the day.

Ever since Urban Decay released their Naked Collection, we just haven’t been able to get enough. Natural, neutral colors are what the products in the collection are all about, including their palette Naked Flushed. Naked Flushed is available in two palette colors: Natural and Native. Each contains a beautiful bronzer, highlighter, and blush that are similar to the basics of your wardrobe. This travel-ready palette can be used together as a full look or by themselves, such as adding the blush to your everyday look. The blush provides a flawless touch to your skin and feels so light it’s as if you aren’t wearing any. That’s a plus in our book!

Maybelline is one of the top quality drugstore products giving us beauty must-haves that are usually carry-ons in our bags. From their lippies to their mascaras, there is no going wrong with this brand, especially when using their Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush. The packaging and name of the blush not only is super cute but is made to be a lightweight and buildable product. Its spring loving colors last a long time and prove that a little goes a long way when applying. With just a swipe of your fingers and a dab across your cheeks, you’ll be blushing in no time.

A high-end but affordable brand that we are always raving about for their quality and easy-to-use products has been NYX Cosmetics. The wide range of colors and quick usage makes them extremely popular. The NYX Stick Blush is a fan favorite and is easy-to-use right away. Available in an array of pinks that are rich and creamy, there’s no stopping you from finding your perfect match. Try applying them as swatches along your skin before purchasing to see which one you’ll fall in love with. Once purchased, you’ll have a blush that you can just slide along your cheeks, blend, and be off with to have a glow all day.

Another Benefit Cosmetics beauty favorite has come in the form of cheek stains that won’t smudge or melt away. One of their most recent and popular is Lollitint, which radiates the candy it is inspired from. It provides a color pop that you can apply not only on your cheeks for a blush, but on your lips as well. This sweet color needs just three strokes across the apples of your cheeks and then a quick blend with your fingers. If you want the color to stand out more, just repeat.

DIY DYE Book Review

We all get that sudden urge for change, to just get up and go, be daring, and change our style. The main thing people do when they seek a change is to drastically color or cut their hair. Unfortunately, not all us can shave our heads or dye our hair without regret or second thoughts. But there’s no need to stress, because Loren Lankford’s new book, DIY DYE, has all the answers to your impulsive and bold hair dyeing questions. In this DIY DYE book review, we give you our favorite hair dyeing tips. Whether you are on a budget or love trying new products and brands, the author has come to help with a step-by-step process of achieving fun colored hair.

Lankford, a lady that loves dyeing her hair and has had her hair dyed literally every color, gives readers some great suggestions and tips on the safest ways to dye our precious locks. From using household products such as food coloring and tea bags, to henna and unsweetened Kool-Aid, DIY DYE makes dyeing hair a fun hobby. For those of us who are afraid of commitment (myself included), I enjoy the colored chalk DIY dye that only lasts a few washes. This fun book even has directions on how to make your own DIY colored hairsprays and glitter hair gel. If you aren’t into full coloring you can try highlighting your tresses with natural ingredients such as cinnamon, lemon juice, and chamomile.
This book will leave you frantically inspecting your cabinets for some DIY hair products! My favorite example was the awesome rainbow colored hair that looked just as amazing in a braid as it does down. It’s time to change up that mane and get your hands on DIY DYE. Like the book says, it has “the best concoctions to get hair ‘to dye for’.

Pop of Color

If you’re looking for a way to add some color to your hair and you don’t want to use any harsh chemicals like bleach, then using hair extensions is the best way. There are a few pros for using hair extensions instead of coloring. One, you can switch you hair color as many times as you want. Two, it will not cause any damage to your hair. Three, the color doesn’t fade or grow out like it does when you dye your hair. I thought this idea was so great that I came up with a list of hair extensions you should try out that will bring a pop of color to your hair.

IRemy is at the top of my list. I own a set of neon pink hair extensions from them and so far they’ve been great. I’ve had my extensions for about four months now and they’re still nice and silky. They are very easy to put on; just divide your hair into sections and clip them in. Just like that, you can totally change your look. Another plus is that IRemy uses actual human hair so you can style it, and it’s the most budget-friendly extension I have found so far.

Satin Strands
If you’re really just trying to have fun with your hair and you’re not trying to pull off these extensions as being your real hair, then you definitely have to try out Satin Strands I-Feather. It is very fun and flirty. All you have to do is clip it into your hair to give it that feather look. The I-Feather comes in three colors—pink, purple and teal—and they can be found in most Sally shops.

Okay, these extensions will definitely cost you; they run about $140 for a set and up. These are the type of extension you would buy if you are looking to keep them in for a while. These extension can be dyed, shampooed, straightened and curled because it is 100% human hair. They’re considered top notch quality, nothing to play around with. These extensions run closer to natural hair colors so you can use them to create high and low lights.

If you’re just looking to play up your look and create a flirty feel then I suggest looking into the first two on this list, but if you’re shopping for a special occasion or are planning on keeping them in for a long time then you really want to go with Remy. I really love the idea of having extensions and being able to switch them around when you feel like. And the best thing: extensions won’t damage your hair.

Stephanie Dawn Handbags

If you’re looking for a new accessory to add to your outfit then you really need to take a look at some really amazing handbags made by Stephanie Dawn. Not only are these handbags stylish, but they’re made from high quality quilted cotton. With us women always being in a rush and having to bring along some extra baggage, who wants to put all that in some dull, lumpy, gigantic bag? No one; I speak from experience. Stephanie Dawn handbags give you the choice to look stylish while carrying everything you need in your bag.

I was able to get my hands on two of these gorgeous yet resourceful bags, the Hobo and the Shoulder Bag, and I just love them. If you’re like me and like to carry a lot of things around, the Hobo bag has more than enough space. One thing I noticed about this bag was that it didn’t collapse within itself like other bags do when there is not too much in it. The bag could be empty and it still maintains its structure; that just shows you how durable the fabric is.

If you’re into cute long-strapped bags, then the Shoulder Bag is a must. I love that the straps are adjustable so you can get a custom fit, and there is a pocket for just about everything — four interior pockets and three exterior pockets give you plenty of room.
A major plus about all the handbags made by Stephanie Dawn is that they come in about fifteen different colors and patterns. With so many amazing designs to choose from, you can find the perfect bag to go with any of your outfits. Also, if you’re like me and are dying to get out of this winter catastrophe, you’ll go for the bright colorful bags that scream “spring!”

Lips That Pop

It’s the time of year when everything starts looking a little dull and dark. Why not add a pop of color to your everyday makeup?  Red lipstick is so overly done nowadays. We now have other vibrant colors that you can rock. I’ve conducted some research and made a list of eye catching lip colors.

– Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Lip Color in Electric Orange stays on all day! Who doesn’t love that? Also the color of the lipstick is bold and will not fade. It goes on really smooth, so no need for applying gloss over it. I love it.

– Lancome Rouge in Love Lipstick in Violette Coquette works well with any skin tone. It’s opaque so if you’re not ready for this extreme color stay clear of this one. But for those of you that are ready to rock it, please do so. It’s a great color.

– Mac Viva Glam Nicki is, of course, a very noticeable lip color. It will definitely brighten up a dull day. This lipstick has it all; it’s bright, sparkly and glossy. Sounds perfect if you ask me. Also, if you’re a little fearful of trying out darker colors this lipstick is great.

– Wet ‘n’ Wild Cinnamon Spice lipstick is really great. It’s my go to lipstick, I bought it about three weeks ago and I can’t put it down. It goes on flawless, glossy and it keeps my lips moist. I like it because it is a neutral bold color, so it goes with everything and it makes my lips stand out.

So if you want your lips to make a statement you have other options than using red lipstick. This is awesome because some of us can’t pull red off. I just gave you some ideas to start out with, if you want to experiment with other eye catching colors, go for it.
