3 Iconic Becca Cosmetics Products to Stock Up On Before They Close

Becca Cosmetics, a cruelty free makeup brand owned by Estee Lauder and sold at Sephora and Ulta, has a cult-like following and is known for its innovative highlighters. Unfortunately, Becca Cosmetics is shutting down permanently in September, largely due to the pandemic. According to an official statement posted on their website in February: “At BECCA, an accumulation of challenges, together with the global impact of COVID-19, has sadly been more than our business can withstand, and we have had to make the heartbreaking decision to close down the BECCA brand at the end of September 2021.” However, it’s not too late to still rock a glowy face full of the brand. Here are 3 iconic Becca Cosmetics products to stock up on before they close, and dupes for when they do.

1. Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter ($38)

Perhaps the product that launched Becca into the public eye, the Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter is unlike any other, because it melts down into a creamy finish once applied, despite its powdery texture. Their signature color, Champagne Pop, works great with warm or olive skin tones. Apply with a brush for the best results.

Dupe: ColourPop Super Shock Highlighter ($8)

This buttery formula is a perfect contender for The Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter, because it shares the unique powder to cream texture. There are currently 17 shades on the ColourPop website, ranging from a medium brown for a contour effect to a luminous purple if you’re going for the space girl look. However, this one should be applied with the fingers for the most effective pigmentation.

2. Ultimate Lipstick Love ($24)

Coming in a whopping 40 shades, the best aspect of this product is the fact that it is one of the only lipstick shade ranges on the market that comes with an indication of its undertone (warm, cool, neutral) so you can find the perfect match for your skin. Its creamy, hydrating formula is perfect for those who suffer from dry lips. It even has a magnetic casing so you never have to worry about losing the top half of the tube!

Dupe: Clinique Even Better Pop Lip Colour Foundation ($20)

Coming in an impressive 30 colors, this lipstick also helps you find your perfect shade and undertone match to your skin by using Clinique Shade Match Science. It comes in three “dress codes”:  Naked, a soft, neutral sheer tint for the natural look, Casual, a step up between tame and dramatic for an everyday look, and Glam, an intense, in your face pop of colour that you can see across the room.

3. Zero No Makeup Virtual Foundation ($36)

This innovative product is so subtle that it is difficult  to argue whether or not it qualifies as makeup or skin care, with Becca claiming that it’s the perfect hybrid of the two. Its effects are so subtle that even straight cis men report wearing it without embarrassment. The blurring matte finish is perfect for those with oily skin, and only takes a pea size dollop to get the full effects!

Dupe (Kind of): Maybelline Face Studio Master Prime ($10)

Becca’s Zero No Makeup Virtual Foundation is so unique that there is simply no other product like it on the market. While there are other mattifying skin products that can give you a blurring effect and help soothe your imperfections, they’re not labeled as foundations. However, there are some lightly pigmented primers that work similarly and can be worn without foundation for a subtle effect. The Maybelline Face Studio Master helps with pore minimizing and works best for those with oily skin.

Bretman Rock’s Collaboration with Colourpop

Bretman Rock released his first makeup collection with Colourpop on November 9th. The red and blue makeup palettes are inspired by the Filipino flag’s color. He wanted to share where he was from and represent his culture. The “Lit” palettes are all about warm toned and red colors, while the “Wet” palettes consist of blue shades, neutrals, and browns.

Both of these collections share a deep side of Bretman’s personal life, including his feminine and masculine side. In his Lit collection photo, he wears a tiara, a long wig, and a sparkling outfit. In his Wet collection photo, he is shirtless with a silver chain around his neck. In these photos, he wants to prove that anyone can rock a beautiful makeup look, no matter who they are.

Rock uses his favorite words to name the colors in his palettes, such as “Or Whatevah” “Like” and “Periodt” and it really shows off his personality.

Just like every other season, autumn comes with its own scents, looks, and colors. You step outside, take in the cool, crisp air, and admire the leaves beautifully changing colors on the trees. The deep reds, oranges, and browns are so gorgeous that wearing them on our eyes is what any makeup lover needs during this time of the year.

Cosmetic brands almost never let the fall season slip away so easily. By taking advantage of the gorgeous season, brands turn the fall colors into shadows and complement these colors with even more charming shades, creating the perfect palette to wear throughout the coming months. Beauty Brands You Must Follow On Instagram

It’s no secret that Instagram is one of our favorite social networks ever created to share photos of who we are and what we love with the world. Making your Instagram into something “Instagram worthy” has become a social media goal for many of us in the past year. From monochromatic themes to colorful photos that just pop off of our screens—we’re constantly not only looking to create the best Instagram accounts out there, but to follow them too.
Here at Cliché, we all can agree that some of the most beauty-full Instagram accounts out there are created by none other than beauty brands themselves. Amongst the limitless amount of beauty brands + Instagram accounts constantly being born within the social world, we’ve spotlighted the ones that are a need-to-have on your Instagram feed. So, grab your phones and get ready to hit that “Follow” button on each of these beauty Instagram accounts that will have you double tapping on every post that’s published.

We’re sure you’ve seen the infamous hashtag #nofilterneeded. Glossier is the one badass beauty brand that defines that saying with photos that don’t even need said hashtag to prove so. Real is real with Glossier, from their shameless Instagram account to the au naturale ingredients used to create their products.

ColourPop Cosmetics: Ultra Satin Lip Collection Review

Among the smorgasbord of beauty brands out in the world, ColourPop Cosmetics has found a special place in my heart. Super affordable, cruelty free, complementing to a range of skin tones, and made with impressive, one-of-a-kind formulas, ColourPop has broken the barrier of high-quality products with overly high digits on their price tags. Each of their cosmetics from their Ultra Matte Lips to their Super Shock Shadows has become enormously popular over a short amount of time. With each new product that is launched, it’s no surprise that they quickly become one of the most talked about items by beauty lovers everywhere—including myself. And this is where ColourPop Cosmetics’ newest collection of Ultra Satin Lips comes in.

After the 16 new lippies launched on February 25th of this year, the Ultra Satin Lip collection has gained momentum and favoritism by a growing number of fans. Created with a formula that is easy-to-apply, leaves you with a satin finish, and lasts all day long with only one touch up needed if that, these lippies will have anyone head over heels. I, like many others, hopped on the bandwagon of picking up my favorites as soon as they were available for purchase. When my order of five ( Echo Park, TooLips, Tansy, London Fog, and Frick N’ Frack) arrived along with a cute handwritten note from ColourPop and flyers about the collection, I couldn’t have been more excited.

I immediately chose one to sport the next day to see if these lippies would live up to ColourPop’s name—and they absolutely did. Packaged just the same as their Ultra Matte Lips, application of the creamy formula was easy and quick before heading out the door. Tansy (a yellow-toned brown) was the first shade I tested; the beautiful hue immediately sat comfortably on my lips, without drying to the point of being super matte. As the day went on the lippie held its pigmentation and only needed a touch up after eating and drinking (note: these lippies aren’t transfer proof, but they still pack a punch). Since my first initial try-out with the Ultra Satin Lip collection I have been wanting to wear nothing else on my lips. Currently, Echo Park is my favorite, being a peachy nude shade that is perfect for wearing everyday.
Have you tried out the new Ultra Satin Lips yet? If not, head on over to www.colourpop.com to get your hands on them—at just $6 a pop, they’re more than you could ask for.
Be sure to tag your Colour Pop choices with #colourpopme as well as for a chance to be featured on the beauty brand’s Instagram.
P.S. Colour Pop just launched their new brow collection on March 10th, and you better believe I’m all over that as well. You can purchase their Brow Colour ($6) and Brow Pencils ($5) on their site. Stay tuned for my next review, beauty babes!

ColourPop and Karrueche Tran Announce KaePop Makeup Line

With the new year comes exciting new beauty collaborations, and this time it’s ColourPop ringing in the good news! The southern California cosmetic company loved by beauty gurus everywhere has recently announced its KaePop collection with actress, model, and philanthropist Karrueche Tran.
The environmentally safe and affordable new collection is inspired by Tran’s everyday beauty must-haves, and includes four matte eye shadows (in the shades Wilshire, Crenshaw, Beverly, and Sunset Blvd), three ultra matte lipsticks with matching lip pencils (in the shades Chi, Kae, and Rooch), one blush (called Flush’d), one highlighter (called Glo Up), and one bronzer (called Bronze Me).
“I have always loved makeup and experimenting with fun new shades and techniques,” said Tran. “I am excited that ColourPop and I have joined forces to create a collection benefitting an important organization in my life, the Environmental Media Association.”
While the collection ranges from only $5-$8 a piece, it can be also purchased as a whole set for $72 starting February 4 on colourpop.com. In addition, a portion of the proceeds sold will be donated to the Environmental Media Association (EMA), where Tran proudly serves as a board member.
