Riot Ten and Stoutty as Pushing Daizies Release 12-Track Debut Album “Initium.” Out Now on Dim Mak

by

After the much-anticipated announcement of their true identities, Pushing Daizies officially release their first full-length body of work with their “Initium” album. Featuring an epic culmination of twelve tracks, the LP features formerly released favorites such as “Want It To End,” “Dreams,” and “I Want To Know” as well as five brand new tracks. True to the Pushing Daizies style, each new track is both melodic and meaningful in its own way, exemplifying the emotion and personal experiences that take the shape of every song. From the nostalgic, heartfelt vocals of “Without You” to the melodic dubstep and angsty vibes of “I Would Never” and “Break Your Heart,” the duo hits right in the feels. “Left4Dead” is the breakup song you’ve been waiting for, while “Edge Off” featuring Kelsey Ray is perhaps one of the most upbeat and groovy songs of the album. No matter what your mood is, “Initium” has a place. Read on for Riot Ten and Stoutty‘s inspiration behind the album:

This album means so much to us. We’ve been working on it for over a year, and it’s our first album together as Pushing Daizies. There’s so much emotion that went into the process, especially during a time period like we’ve never experienced before. I don’t think we’ve ever been more proud of a full body of work like this, and this is just the beginning. We hope you all enjoy listening to it as much as we did creating it.” – Riot Ten & Stoutty (Pushing Daizies)

Pushing Daizies is the pseudonym of US-based producers Riot Ten and Stoutty joining forces. The enigmatic duo makes groovy, bass-heavy, electronic dance music that creates an emotional roller coaster, pulling at the heartstrings of its listeners. The project, which initially began as multiple collaborations between the two artists, transpired as their synergy saw no end in sight. “Once we found our rhythm, we knew we had something special. It was bigger than just a few singles. I guess you could say that the project was an accident in the greatest way possible,” said one of the producers. The term “pushing daisies” refers to the flowers that grow over a burial plot when someone dies, which is symbolic of the cycles of life and death, light and dark. Said differently, when someone dies, life is created.

Black Caviar Releases Groovy Vocal House Single “Collect Check,” Featuring EMIDA. Out Now on Dim Mak

by

Black Caviar puts a cheeky spin on hustling for money with his new track “Collect Check” on Steve Aoki‘s Dim Mak. Featuring smooth, velvety vocals by EMIDA, this house gem opens with groovy melodies that gently meld into a deep, minimal bassline that feels right at home both on the dance floor or when listening at home. It was inspired by a relationship with financial instability, something that many people faced during the global pandemic, and the desire for success. “Collect Check” is Black Caviar‘s second release on Dim Mak, after 2019’s “Alright Alright, Okay / Zonin’” EP, who has also gained industry attention with releases on Atlantic RecordsUniversal MusicCasablanca Records, and more. Read on below for the full story behind “Collect Check“:

When I first heard EMIDA‘s smooth vocals, I was blown away. Her style, tone, and delivery reminded me of Sade. I wanted to make sure the production sat in the right place that would compliment her vocal.” – Black Caviar

The songwriting process was spurred from a period of financial instability. It led me to write about wanting to hustle out of that situation and aspire to a more opulent lifestyle. The lyrics’ collect cheque – run it back’ are about getting paid but still wanting more because It’s never enough. Ending with ‘run it forward’ – straight to the bank. It was a fun song to write because money can be quite a taboo subject. But with this track, I wanted to make it cheeky, sassy and cool.” – EMIDA

Amassing over 300M Spotify streams, New York City‘s Black Caviar has been solidified in the dance music world with genre-bending music to fans across the globe. Since the release of the 2017 hit single “Coco,” which has totaled over 18M plays on Spotify alone, the trajectory has only gone up from there. Originals, including “El Camino” and “What’s Up Danger” with Blackway, which was the lead track on the “Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse” soundtrack, found massive success in the form of a Gold Record Certification along with a Grammy Nomination. Coming off the heels of a momentous soundtrack accomplishment, Black Caviar was chosen to produce the official remix of the “Charlie’s Angels” theme song to be used in the 2019 update of the classic film. In addition to originals, Black Caviar‘s extensive track catalog includes a momentum-driven house twist on Dillon Francis‘ “DFR,” fresh rendition of Louis The Child and Foster The People‘s “Every Color,” and a popular vibrant rework of the Modjo‘s classic “Lady (Hear Me Tonight),” to name a few. Other high profile artists, including LizzoTiestoR3HABJason Derulo, and more, have recruited Black Caviar to remix their tracks, and his catchy sound has also touched the commercials of AppleeBayMcDonald’sVictoria’s Secret, as well as various movies, Netflix, and TV series. Keep an eye out for more new music and live show announcements coming soon!

Riot Ten and Stoutty Revealed as Artists Behind The Mysterious Project Pushing Daizies. New Single “I Miss You” with Lucii. Out Now on Dim Mak

by

Pushing Daizies return to Dim Mak with one of their most meaningful releases yet – and a big announcement that reveals the artist duo behind the mysterious project. “I Miss You” features singer/songwriter/producer Lucii, with earlier releases on Subsidia and WAKAAN under her belt, whose velvety vocals croon out lyrics about missing all of someone – the good and the bad parts. Pushing Daizies lends their signature style to the track with future bass beats complemented by lush melodies, making “I Miss You” a relatable song that will tug at the heartstrings of any listener who has ever felt the nostalgic pang of missing someone, whether a lover or a lost friendship. The track also reveals more about the making of Pushing Daizies – it’s Riot Ten and Stoutty, who began the project during quarantine with the goal of making music that was outside their norms as individual artists. Read on below for more from Pushing DaiziesLucii and Riot Ten:

I Miss You‘ is that one song for someone we always miss. We hope this song brings back great memories of whoever that is, as it did for us during the creation of it.” – Pushing Daizies

I wrote this song when I was reflecting on the memories of a past relationship. It dawned on me that everything that I used to get really annoyed with ended up being the things that I was actually missing. Missing someone, whether it be a lost friendship or a failed relationship, is hard. The trips, the fights, the hanging out, the going out, it leaves a certain void that isn’t just replaceable overnight. To me, that’s what I wrote this song about, the absence of the presence of the person.” – Lucii

Pushing Daizies is a project that really began during the pandemic. With no shows happening, my livelihood all but taken away, stuck in quarantine with no end in sight, life became a little depressing. However, with the new found time, I began talking to my good friend Stoutty about exploring new genres together. Initially, we weren’t even thinking about making an entire project out of it. We just wanted to make powerful and emotional music that would be relatable during such crazy times. Something completely opposite of the music that we currently make, and we wasted little time before going full steam ahead. We worked so much on the sound that in just a few months we ended up with 2 albums worth of music, literally. At that point, we knew this had the potential to be something special. And thus, Pushing Daizies was born. This project means so much to us because it allows us to take listeners on a completely different journey. And it allows us to express our art and push boundaries further than we ever thought possible. We are pushing daizies.” – Riot Ten

Lucii – the Orlando hailing producer and DJ is making waves. The music is captivating and is drizzled with swirling melodies searching lyrics and drifting vocals. Lucii is able to show off her otherworldly production style, as well as songwriting prowess all in one.

QUIX returns to Steve Aoki‘s Dim Mak imprint with his new single “Make Up Your Mind,” featuring Nashville singer/songwriter Jaden Michaels, a drum & bass gem with QUIX‘s signature emotive punch. The heavy DnB influence pays homage to QUIX‘s homeland New Zealand, where this dynamic music genre has always had a powerful following. “Make Up Your Mind” opens with a heartfelt, soulful voice by Jaden and rides on a steadily building bassline that culminates in a high-energy, goosebump-inducing drop. I actually started writing this beat last year during a twitch stream; funnily enough, Jaden had already sent me the topline months before. Essentially, I mashed up the beat with her vocal and surprised myself with how well they worked together. I’ve never made a DnB song like this before, and I wanted to challenge myself to incorporate the mainstream style with my signature style. Thank you for listening, and hope you enjoyed yourself, especially on that last drop” – QUIX

It has racked up millions of plays and creatively merged genres with powerful vocals while staying true to QUIX‘s signature sound. He has also been honored by Spotify to feature on the cover of their two biggest international dance playlists, “Mint” and “Dance Rising,” and officially remixed the likes of Steve AokiGASHIRL Grime, and more. Jaden Michaels is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. Faceless but emotive duo Pushing Daizies returns to Dim Mak with their newest future bass single “I’ll Be Alright.” Despite being their 9th release since the official debut in January with “Want It To End,” this track is extra special in that it is the first that the duo wrote together under the Pushing Daizies name. “I’ll Be Alright” sets a positive tone from the get-go with crystalline vocals and delicate piano keys, building into a future bass drop that is both groovy and emotive. by

Danish artist Snavs is nothing but relentlessly unique in his artistic expression, and his new track “Moods” on Steve Aoki‘s Dim Mak Records is no different. In an unusual fusion of grime and future bass music, the track is distinctly divided into two different sounds to represent Snavs‘s inspiration: the idea that our moods can easily oscillate based on circumstances in our everyday lives. The whole idea around ‘Moods‘ is about reflecting on how fast your mood can change if something good or bad happens and how easily you can be affected by your surroundings. He has explored the sonic realms through unusual collaborations that break genre barriers, including hardcore metal band Telos, legendary Scandinavian rocker Ulf ScottSøren Buhl of alt-rock band Blaue Blume, and indie singer Karen Lassen. Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Releases Max Styler Remixes

by

Calling all music lovers! Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak has recently released Max Styler remixes on February 3, 2017. The young American who produced “Heartache” ft. Colt Matthews has come up with a solid remix bundle, including remixes from SMLE, Taiki Nulight and MERCE Remix. You can listen to the latest tracks below.

Earlier this year, Max Styler thrilled dance music fans and tastemakers alike with his sensational debut album, “Heartache,” which demonstrated his flair for futuristic flavor, haunting vocal samples and multifaceted sonic textures. From its aching lyrics to its catchy melodies, the title track (which features Colt Matthews on vocals) showcases all of the album’s themes effortlessly, and now Max is releasing a remix package of “Heartache” with three fresh takes on the original. The first is a spacey, avant-garde bass rendition by the live electronica duo SMLE that emanates after hours vibes; it is followed by Taiki Nulight’s remix, which is guaranteed to make you transport to a grungy underground party where things are getting wonderfully weird. MERCE comes in for the kill on the final remix with his heavy trap version that will have bodies thrashing on every dance floor. As if the original “Heartache” wasn’t already stellar enough, the remixes take the track to several new dimensions.

Max Styler signed with Steve Aoki’s famed Dim Mak record label when he was only 18 years old, making him one of the youngest producers to be signed on such an esteemed record label at the time. The San Luis Obispo, California native has exploded onto the scene with his first EP, “Aftershock,” which came out on Dim Mak in 2015 to rave reviews; the title track was chosen as a Sirius XM BPM “Breaker.” In 2016, Styler joined Steve Aoki on the North American Neon Future bus tour and played Tomorrowland Festival and Pacha in Ibiza. The Torro Torro remix of Max Styler and Autoerotique’s “Badman” has been nominated for a Juno Award for Best Dance Recording in 2015 and has garnered over 15 million plays on Spotify. 2017 is shaping up to be a phenomenal year so far for Styler; his most recent release “Roller Coaster” rose to number three on the Beatport charts during its first week. With the “Heartache” remix package and several other releases coming out in the next few months, Max Styler is certainly one to watch!
