Calling all writers, editors, and designers! We are now welcoming new interns to join our team and contribute to our monthly issues and blog this summer! If you love to write about topics related to popular culture, are interested in editing, or if you are simply trying to break into the magazine industry, then an internship at Cliché is just right for you!

Since all interns will be able to work from home, you must have frequent Internet access to apply. A great social media presence is a plus, so feel free to send along links to your blog, Tumblr, or Twitter accounts so we can get to know you better! Just be sure to specify which department you are interested in interning for.

Web Editing Interns

Cliché Magazine is looking for web editing interns to assist in managing, scheduling, and screening blog posts for clichemag.com. Candidates will be in charge of formatting blog posts and scheduling them for publication twice a week, as well as working closely with the editor-in-chief when creating deadline calendars. Candidates must have some editing knowledge, be organized, and be willing to follow strict deadlines.

Since all interns will be working from home, you must have frequent Internet access to apply. A great social media presence is a plus, so feel free to send along links to your blogs or Twitter accounts so we can get to know you better!

Positions and Requirements

Web Editors must:

• Have frequent Internet access—no exceptions!
• Have basic knowledge of WordPress and SEO
• Have basic knowledge of social media integration
• Be able to follow strict deadlines
• Be able to keep in frequent contact with staff, especially the editor-in-chief
• Be willing to screen all posts before publication, and flagging any that may need
further attention

Cliche Magazine is Looking for Graphic Design Interns!

Cliché Magazine is looking for graphic design interns to assist in laying out and creating our bimonthly issues (6 issues per year). Candidates must be very creative, have knowledge in graphic design and typography, and must be able to follow very strict deadlines. Candidates will be working with pre-made templates, so nothing will be created entirely from scratch—but creativity and new ideas are, of course, encouraged. Past experience in publishing is preferred. Please be sure to include samples of previous work in your application for consideration.

Positions and Requirements

Graphic Design Interns must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Have experience using Adobe InDesign (CS5 or higher)
• Have frequent Internet access
• Be able to follow strict weekly or biweekly deadlines during production phase
• Be familiar with our magazine style/layout before applying

Writing and Editing Interns

If you love to write about topics related to popular culture, are interested in journalism, or if you are simply trying to break into the magazine industry, then an internship at Cliché is just right for you!

Since all interns will be working from home, you must have frequent Internet access to apply. A great social media presence is a plus, so feel free to send along links to your blogs or Twitter accounts so we can get to know you better!

Positions and Requirements

Writers/bloggers must:
1) Be able to contribute at least two articles of at least 450 words each per month, as well as occasional blog posts
2) Be willing to accept assigned topics on occasion and conduct celebrity interviews via e-mail or telephone
3) Be able to follow strict deadlines
4) Be able to keep in frequent contact with editor in chief, copy editors, and department directors

Editors must:
1) Have taken (or will be taking) a Book and Magazine Editing or Grammar & Style class, or have past editing experience
2) Be able to pass an editing test project upon request
3) Be willing to work closely with assigned writers on assignments
4) Be willing to fact check all assignments before submission

This internship is open to both undergraduate and graduate students. Since all of the workload will be done online, all interns will be able to complete monthly assignments comfortably from their own homes!

Cliche Magazine Welcoming A Public Relations Intern

Cliché Magazine is the premiere digital Fashion, Lifestyle, Entertainment and Pop Culture Magazine with a monthly readership of over 50,000 people. The magazine can be found in iTunes among other prestigious publications.

We are currently interviewing candidates for our Public Relations Coordinator. This is a very important internship as you will be speaking directly with many of the PR firms that we have established relationships with. You will be uploading compelling and news worthy Press Releases to our sister blog. This internship is “unpaid” but may become a “paid” internship after the new year. Throughout this internship, you will gain vast experience in working with a popular digital publication and some of the most well known PR firms in the country. This internship could also help you obtain additional credits towards your degree if applying as a college student and your work is solid.

The ideal candidate for this Internship will have the following:

Experience working with wordpress either as an editor or contributor.
Excellent writing skills
Excellent Editing and Proofreading skills
Interest in Music, Fashion and Beauty
Ability to meet deadlines
This position involves uploading 3-5 Press Releases per day to our sister blog.
