Love For LUSH

LUSH Floor Manager Dennis Vazquez

Entering the LUSH Cosmetics store in Garden State Plaza automatically lifts my spirit and senses. From the sweet, magnificent smells to their luxurious products, I feel energized just by walking in the store. This time, I had the wonderful pleasure of interviewing one of the floor managers named Dennis Vazquez, who instantly greeted me with a radiant smile and a welcoming hug. It wasn’t long before we discovered our love for beauty and art, something that LUSH blends skillfully and effortlessly. Vazquez’s passion for his job was evident in his eyes, and his heart shone through with his enthusiasm. So here, my friends, are more reasons to fall in love with LUSH.
If you’re wondering where the dream began, it started with hair. “The haircare section is a big portion of our business,” said Vazquez. One of the co-founders of LUSH, Mark Constantine, studied the hair and scalp otherwise known as trichology. Vazquez explained that through Constantine’s apprenticeship, “he was using products on his client’s hair that wasn’t giving them good results.” Therefore, Constantine decided to make his own fresh, handmade products, but this wasn’t the beginning of LUSH just yet. “A catalog order company was formed called Cosmetics to Go,” said Vazquez, “but it failed at first because it was sending out products to people’s homes. Since they were personalizing the packaging for each of their customers, the company was losing a euro for everything that they were sending out.” After the failure of Cosmetics to Go, Constantine decided to give LUSH a try and it has been a worldwide success ever since.

Top Five Face Masks

by

Not one of us out here has the same skin type and problems, what works to treat my skin problems might not work to treat yours. Some of us might have dry skin, some of us might have oily skin, and some of us might have a combination of both. So, how do you know what skin product out there is right for you?  Well, it is pretty hard trying to find the right product for your skin, especially when there are so many choices. There are two ways to figure it out: trial and error, and research. Luckily for you, I did all the research, and narrowed it down to five facial masks you can choose from. I hope this makes it a little less painful for you to choose the right facial product that best suits you.
glamglowGlamglow Super Mud:
I don’t know about you, but I love seeing my face masks work right from the moment I apply it to my face, and with Glamglow Super Mud, I can do just that. After application, the Super Mud dries and soaks up impurities from the skin, mostly oils and dirt. You can see it working in action for yourself, there will be spots that dry darker on your face then the rest, those are spots where a large amount of impurities are being lifted away from your skin.
Origins Active Charcoal Mask:
Living in the city can play a big role on the condition of our skin.  With all the pollution and toxins out there, it’d be hard to find a face without a black head on it. But that’s not a problem when you have the right products, one of them being Origins Active Charcoal Mask. Of course, it contains charcoal, which is known for its purifying properties, and this formula will rid your skin of pesky impurities and give you a much more radiant complexion.
Tea Tree Face Mask by The Body Shop:
The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask is great for calming redness, this instant cooling mask removes impurities, absorbs oils, and leaves your face deeply cleansed and refreshed.
Cupcake Face Mask by LUSH:
Another one of my favorite products, the Cupcake Face Mask by LUSH is not only great for oily skin, but it smells absolutely wonderful too. If you have oily skin like mine you will love this stuff. The Cupcake mask contains spearmint oil to cool skin, vanilla to calm redness, and Rhassoul mud to deeply cleanse. I’m telling you this is the only treat your skin won’t get enough of.
Glamglow Hydrating Mask:
I cannot help but tell people that this is the best moisturizing mask out there. So here is how it works, you simply apply the formula on to a dry face and have a nap, when you wake up wipe the formula off with a soft dry cloth and boom! You’ll have skin as soft as a baby’s bottom, it is as easy as that.

Three Must-Try Products From LUSH

by

LUSH lovers know how difficult it is to leave the mall without carrying the entire store back home with them, but for those of you who have yet to experience LUSH, you need to make a visit – ASAP! We understand that you may need a reason why, so here are three must-try products from LUSH that are not only extremely popular but are also representative of the company’s love for a good pamper sesh (something we could all use regardless of age!).
Kick off your night with your favorite therapeutic bath bomb. If you don’t have one, ask any of the LUSH employees; they’re always friendly, fun, and eager to find a bath bomb suitable for your wants and/or needs. A well-loved bath bomb is “Twilight” because its lavender and tonka absolute will help you “fight demons of insomnia and soothe your stressed out body and mind.”

After or during your bath, use a fresh facial mask. Remember, when you pamper yourself, you want to pamper all of you. A perfect facial mask is “BB Seaweed” because it works well on all skin types while also making your skin feel refreshed and clean before bed.

Wrap up the night with one of my favorite products – the massage bar (my go-to is “Pearl”).  Made with essential oils, the bar melts on contact with your skin. Within seconds, you’ll notice how silky, glistening, and baby soft your skin is, not to mention the amazing smell that will sweetly linger throughout the night.

LUSH Bath Bombs

by

Tired of your same old dull baths? Then add some LUSH into your life. LUSH Cosmetics believes in providing their customers with handmade products, all of which are made with organic fruits and vegetables, essential oils and safe synthetics. They are also very conscious when it comes to buying ingredients, they only buy from vendors that do not test their products on animals. LUSH is not your average cosmetic company, they are trying to make a difference in this world. So far they have donated more 4,750,000 dollars to over 400 grassroot charities in 35 countries. If that doesn’t prove what LUSH is all about, then I don’t know what will.

Aside from all the changes they been making in the world they have definitely changed my bath time. Pinks, blues, bubbles, a wonderful smell that will linger on your skin for hours or more. That’s what I am talking about when I tell you that you have never had a bath experience like this. So far I have tried three of the most popular bath bombs, Sex Bomb, Butterball and Twilight and I enjoyed all three. Let me tell you a little more about these babies.

Sex Bomb: If you are looking to share a bath (or not) this would be the bath bomb to work with. It is made from naturally seductive ingredients, Scintillating jasmine, clary sage and ylang ylang. They will have you relaxing and in a great mood. I know when I tried it out the first thing I noticed was it turned my bath water pink. The second, after the bomb fizzled down to nothing there was smooth fragile rose heads floating around my tub and last, but my most favorite feature of this ball, was that it smells absolutely wonderful. Trust me when I tell you everyone in your house will know that you have just finished using the Sex Bomb.

Butterball: I don’t know about you guys but I have always loved the scent of vanilla and this bath bomb makes that list. Mixed with chunks of cocoa butter it does wonders in rehydrating dry skin. Literally you don’t have to do any work, but lay in a blanket of creamy, buttery froth. Once I was done with my bath and all dried up I did notice that my skin felt a lot softer.

Twilight: If you’re having a hard time sleeping take a warm bath with the Twilight bomb, it will sure get you in a dazed mood. Twilight contains a combination of lavender and tonka that will have you feeling stress free and ready to count some sheep. It transforms your bath into a blanket of ever changing colors, ranging from purple and pink, to magenta and blue. When I did test the bomb out it really did take me into a state of tranquility and the best thing about it is that it smells lovely.
One thing I do have to mention about these bath bombs is that it is safe for sensitive skin.  Also, if you really do have severe dry skin you should invest in a few Butterballs. If these LUSH bath bombs seem to spark an interest within you I suggest visiting their website and reading up about the benefits of each one of their bath bombs to find one that fits your needs. Also, you might just want to take a look because LUSH is always coming out with great products.
