How to Ask for her Hand in Marriage if it’s the Right Time

by

Today we want to share insightful tips on how to ask for her hand in marriage if it’s the right time. Asking your girlfriend to marry you is the next step in your relationship. You want to tie the knot, and you have to be confident about this decision. When you’re already thinking about it, it’s a sign that you want to spend forever with her. You also can’t imagine your life without her by your side. While it’s good that you consider your feelings, you should also think the same way about her. You might be ready, but she’s not. Timing is crucial in deciding to pop the question.

There should be talk about marriage

If you didn’t reach the point where you talk about getting married, you shouldn’t do it. You imagine a life with her, but she doesn’t. You have to be on the same page before you ask the question. She might still be thinking about building your relationship and getting to know each other deeper. If you decide to take the next step when she’s not ready, it could be terrible for your relationship. You’re destroying something that is yet to bloom. Once you start talking about the future, it’s a good sign. It means that she’s ready to move forward.

The number of years doesn’t indicate anything

Just because you’ve been together for a long time doesn’t mean you’re ready to take the next step. Some couples who decide to tie the knot after being in a relationship for many years still get a divorce. Years don’t indicate anything. It’s how you spend time with each other and how deep your relationship is. While it helps that you’ve been in a relationship for a while now, it shouldn’t be the only factor to consider before asking the question.

Look at her career trajectory

If you decide to marry her, it will change your life, but it will do the same to her. You will build a family together. She might be unable to fulfill her career goals if you decide to have a child. If she’s not yet ready to give up what she has now, you should respect it. She enjoys her career, and she deserves it. You might also be on the same path right now. Take your time to celebrate the peak of your career before getting married. Once you have a family, a work-life balance might be challenging.

Buy the perfect ring when you’re ready

Take your time to think about this difficult decision. Once you’re confident that your girlfriend is the right person, the next step is to buy the perfect ring. You can consider purchasing an oval diamond engagement ring that you can find here. If it matches her personality, you have to get it. Show her that you know her well, and you found the perfect ring that will look great on her.

Once she says yes, it calls for a celebration. Don’t rush planning the wedding details. There’s always an opportunity to think about them later. For now, you have to enjoy what you have.

5 Reasons why Second Marriages end in Divorce

by

Today we want to provide 5 reasons why second marriages end in divorce. Second marriages often end in divorce, and the reasons vary. However, the most common reason is that it is simply easier to give up on marriage the second time around. According to divorce experts, 70% of people who divorce their first spouse decide to remarry. Nearly 30% of all marriages now involve at least one party who has already been married at least once.

The stats show that men tend to remarry faster than women, and Caucasians remarry at the highest rate compared to Asians and African Americans. Unfortunately, second marriages rarely last more than 8 years. Some couples have even stated that you can complete divorce online.

Top 5 Reasons Many Second Marriages End in Divorce

While fifty percent of first marriages end in divorce, 67% of second marriages and 74% of third marriages fail to have a happily-ever-after. The reasons second and third marriages seem so doomed include the following:

1. Sex, Money and Interfering In-Laws

Many second marriages end up in divorce because of The Big Three: sexual incompatibility, money problems, and interfering in-laws. Experts claim that during a second or third marriage, sexual issues become more transparent, and spouses tend to compare their sex experiences.

Money issues often arise over child support, alimony, and voluntary contributions to first families. In-law tensions may double when existing in-laws compete against the new spouse for their child’s time and attention.

2. Fights Over Children

Children are often cited as the main reason first marriages stay together, but kids play a different role in second marriages. New spouses usually have highly charged relationships with their step-children, and other parenting ideas can generate tension in a marriage.

Children often don’t get along with the kids from a different marriage, and problems frequently arise between spouses if they feel they are not supported in the decisions they make about disciplining step-children.

3. Resentments Between an Ex-Spouse and a Current One

Some ex-spouses are perfectly happy to see their former spouses remarry, but others may become resentful. The resentments often lead to renewed family court trips to renegotiate alimony, child support, and visitation rights.

Ex-spouses often force their former spouses into court to negotiate even the simplest agreements. Some even turn their children against a former spouse or the new spouse.

4. Being Uninvested in the New Marriage

Surprisingly, a new spouse might decide to stay uninvested in a second marriage. Often, the first marriage led to kids, long-term family relationships, and memories that may date back to primary school. It is hard to work up a lot of concern for a new marriage with no children or long-standing ties.

It is easier to give up on the marriage than deal with constant bickering and fighting when things go south. Divorce simply is not as scary the second time, and new family problems are easy to shed because the basic emotional investment in the new marital relationship is lacking.

5. Married for the Wrong Reasons

why Second Marriages end in Divorce

Feeling lonely or needing a breadwinner or housekeeper are very poor reasons to get married. However, many divorced people marry for the wrong reasons. These include:

  • Financial security
  • Companionship or sex
  • Making a former spouse jealous
  • Fear of being alone
  • Rebounding
  • Temporary infatuation with someone very different from the former spouse.

Any reason for getting married other than love quickly wanes. Infatuations fade, and loneliness exists even in a marriage. Rushing from one failed relationship into another is never a good reason for tying the knot.

Get Premarital Counseling

Before getting remarried, the best strategy for a successful second marriage is to seek premarital counseling and financial planning. Divorce statistics are not encouraging for second or third marriages, and a little advance planning might head you off from making (another) big mistake.

Getting Married in the Middle of the Pandemic

by

You might not be thinking about getting married in the middle of the Pandemic but it has happend.  Emma Stone and her beau already postponed their wedding, while others are finding creative ways to push through with the wedding bells despite the pandemic. In the past, holding a grand wedding in a hotel or luxury ship was easy. But as soon as lockdowns and home quarantines were implemented, wedding plans were halted. This begs the question — is it still possible to get married when there are so many new don’ts? Wedding industry players like Landmark Event believe that if you want something badly enough, you can always find a way to make it happen.

getting married in the middle of the PandemicLove is patient and lovers across the globe now find their patience being fully tested. Limitations on the size of gatherings, along with border closures and travel restrictions, affect wedding ceremonies that have long been in place. But are these restrictions really stopping couples from tying the knot? The simple answer is no. Yes, love is patient, but it can also move mountains

Online ceremonies and wedding live streams

Many couples have turned to online platforms that offer marriage services from securing the marriage licenses, to performing legal online marriage ceremonies and live streaming the ceremony. However, some online platforms have had trouble keeping up with the sudden demand. When working well, these platforms can offer people a way to secure a marriage license and hold a wedding in a private home.

Hold simpler ceremonies with minimal guests

For those who don’t want to give up on their booked wedding venue, there are still states that are not on quarantine and lockdowns. There are couples who continue to hold their weddings at their desired venue, with all the decorations and reception preparations, but with very minimal guests. There are even couples who didn’t have guests at all. While observing social distancing protocols, they were still able to say I do before an officiant. This can be an option for you, too.

Civil wedding with a few family members

The pandemic won’t stop people from getting married and this is proven by those who had their civil wedding officiated by a judge or a civil official with the power to officiate such ceremonies. And since their wedding ceremony can’t be grand, they chose to make their civil wedding ceremony luxurious. A popular choice among these couples holding weddings is having their reception on board a luxury ship with their immediate families only. Instead of serving food for hundreds of guests, the menu is adjusted to cater to a few guests. With this option, the food selection has been upgraded, offering a superior experience to the newly-wed couple and their families.

There are even couples who go to the extreme to get married while also keeping their loved ones safe from the virus. They wear masks to their wedding of zero guests. It’s just them and the officiant.

The world is in chaos but seeing people manifest their love in extraordinary ways sparks hope that everything will be okay. This may be a challenging time for the rest of the world, but it’s also a time to tell and show the people we love how much they mean to us. It’s time to go the extra mile for our loved ones because tomorrow is never guaranteed. Couples getting married despite the pandemic are indeed the epitome of how love can overcome anything and everything.

How Should I Propose? A Guide to Popping the big Question

by

You want to pop the big question so you’re probably asking yourself how should I propose.  Marriage proposals happen at sporting events, in fancy restaurants and even during drunken nights in Las Vegas.

Marriage proposals are about as common as fresh fruit at a breakfast buffet.  There are as many ways to propose as there are fish in the sea.  So, what is the right way to propose?  We’ve got the answers for you right here! If you’ve ever wondered, “how should I propose?”, you’re in the right place. Keep reading to learn our best tips.

Remember, This Day Isn’t About You

This is a mistake that many men make. They plan the perfect proposal according to what they believe is perfect. But always remember this: the wedding proposal is not about you.  If you love this person (and we hope you do), then you should know a thing or two about her. Propose to her the way she would like to be proposed to. If she’s not into sports, don’t do it at a sporting event… you get the idea.

This goes for picking out the ring too. If she’s into rose gold diamond engagement rings, get her one! Buy the ring she’ll love and ask her in a place she won’t forget and you should be good to go.

Don’t Joke… Seriously, Don’t

Yes, you might be the funniest person to walk the planet since Chris Rock. But if there ever was a time to take life seriously, it’s during your marriage proposal.

YouTube is full of goofy guys pulling goofy pranks to make their marriage proposals more memorable, and frankly, more YouTube-worthy. Don’t be that guy. Take this event seriously and she’ll see that you’re also going to take marriage seriously, which is what she wants more than all the diamonds in the world.

When In Doubt, Traditional Is the Way to Go

People who propose marriage on the jumbo screen at an NFL game or while skydiving really give off the impression that they’re trying too hard. Nobody’s going to say “no” when there are 50,000 Pittsburgh Steelers fans staring at them on a big screen. Sometimes, it’s better to stick to tradition.

The old, “down on one knee” is what we’re talking about. Take her out to her favorite restaurant and ask for a booth in the back where you can have some privacy. Or ask her while you’re cuddling in bed, enjoying each other’s company.  Keep it low-key and private and you’ll hit the nail on the head 99% of the time. And don’t hide the ring in food. That’s so ten years ago.

Never Ask a Question You Don’t Already Know the Answer To

It’s sad to say, but sometimes a guy just doesn’t have a clue about the woman in his life. And if that’s the case, you probably shouldn’t be proposing marriage to her.

You two should already be on the same page before you pop the question. By this, we mean, you’ve discussed this with her already and you know she shares your life goals. And you’ve been dating for longer than a few weeks.
It’s actually really rude to ask someone to marry you when you have no idea if she’ll accept. Nobody wants to say “no” to a marriage proposal… ever.

How Should I Propose? Let Me Count the Ways…

Still wondering, “how should I propose?” The truth is, there are a million ways to propose and the “perfect” way just depends on her. Talk to her about the future, ask her family members what she might like, and make the day as special for her as you can.

Supergirl, Melissa Benoist, Married?

by

Comic book buffs alike and those who follow the superhero franchise closely are well aware of the newest action hero to come to the big screen, Supergirl! The highly sought after role is filled by noneother than Glee star Melissa Benoist – or should we say Jenner?
According to sources, Benoist, 26, has secretly been married to her former costar Blake Jenner for several months. The ceremony was small and intimate, with a gather of the closest relatives and loved ones. The couple honeymooned in Europe for a few days after the ceremony.
The couple met on the set of Glee when Benoist played Marley Rose and Jenner the winner on Oxygen’s Glee Project played her puppy lovesick friend Ryder Lynn in 2013. They announced their engagement a year later and were apparently married in March.
Benoist says the wedding was “small and intimate and nice.”
After this past weekend at San Diego’s Comic Con, fans noticed a small silver band on her left hand. After much investigating, Benoist did confirm her nuptials.
Benoist claims the first time they connected was during Glee‘s take on Grease. The two actors had a rehearsel for a musical number and hit it off. Within a year, the two were engaged, and now happily married.
Benoist has said before that “the chemistry experienced between Ryder and Marley isn’t acting.”
Needless to say many “Gleeks” are ecstatic at the news that the two former costars are officially wed, especially after the tragic loss of Corey Monteith in 2013. It looks like the two are head over heels in love with a bright future ahead of them!

Iggy Azalea’s Husband Wants a Divorce

by

First things first, I’m— wait, she’s married?
It’s a surprise to everyone that Iggy Azalea’s Husband wants a divorce, but it’s safer to say it’s an even bigger surprise because no one got the memo that the rapping Australian bombshell was even married— not even Azalea herself! Main reason being her highly publicized relationship with basketball player, Nick Young, for the past year.
iggynick
It’s not cheating if she’s denying she was ever married, right?

According to TMZ Azalea’s ex, Maurice Williams aka Hefe Wine, claims that the pair were in a common law marriage and “”agreed to be married, holding themselves out as man and wife and began residing together in the State of Texas on or around September, 2008.”
When TMZ catches up with Azalea in the airport, she makes it clear that this incident is a complete sham. She even took to Twitter with a mini rant to set the record straight:

It’s clear Azalea wants nothing to do with her ex and just wants to concentrate on her current relationship and her music.

Case Closed.

The engagement to, human rights lawyer and now wife, Amal Alamuddin was a shock to everyone, but to officially have a Mrs. Clooney in Hollywood is unreal. After the plethora of stunning beauties of his past and well— him proclaiming that he wouldn’t marry again after his divorce from wife of four years, Talia Balsam in 1993, (admitting he “wasn’t very good at [marriage]”) this wasn’t a day anyone would have expected.

Talk about a whirlwind romance! The two celebrated their nuptials on September 27th in Venice, Italy. So beautiful, yet devastating at the same time. Sorry ladies, Clooney is officially off the market, but feel free to bask in his glory days of bachelorhood below:

Lucky In Love

by

Jaynee PaulsonFalling in love and getting married can certainly change your perspective so don’t think for a second I don’t know that this is all cliché: to write about love in our Summer Issue as a new Bride and tell your readers that they’ll find someone, “don’t worry he’s out there”. Girlfriend Please! Had I read words like that somewhere last year or seen a movie talking about “you complete me,” ugh! I still throw up in my mouth when I think of it. But I want to do a little bit of just that. Wait, not the throwing up part. Stop rolling your eyes, let’s talk LOVE!
Even though I once lectured thousands of women on the importance of never forgetting their charm, gifts, talents and triumphs, which no doubt were many they instead would sit before me describing themselves by their faults, failures, and mistakes. I too after divorce had found myself along that lonely road that led me to the point in life where I question myself and begin to wonder how anyone ever could value me and the type of woman that I am that my daughter recently likened to Keats description of his beloved Fanny “Beautiful and elegant, graceful, silly, fashionable, and strange.”, but there is one sure thing in my life now.  One thing I know for sure like Oprah in her monthly article “Things I Know for Sure.”  I have a soul mate. Yep, you read that right. I’ll write it again, I have a soul mate.
I didn’t believe in such a thing before. I was one of those people that led with my mind and said, “Well, come on now. There are about 7 billion people in the world and there are probably about 10 that I could equally get along with and love and….”The list of doubts went on and on. And I went into every relationship with the end in mind, eventually giving up every time. I decided there was no such thing as love at all. Perhaps my soul mates were my three babes. My life, in turn, belonged to them.
As I settled in as the Cliché Mom, I was challenged to research an article on love and dating. So I put myself out there for three months. I said I would date online and get set up on blind dates -just to see where things went so I could write an article for the February Issue. I thought to myself: let’s see if there is anything to this LOVE stuff. Does a Wentworth/Mr. Darcy really exist? Or should I just go ahead with my plans to raise my children, maybe ending up alone knitting sweaters for my many cats (which I don’t currently have) until the Hoarders show comes to rescue me for your viewing enjoyment.
Yet somehow fate had a plan for me that was better than anything I could plan for myself.  When I stopped planning my future, the universe took over and “he” found me.
“Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.” (Emily Bronte Wuthering Heights).  We have been pulled together through jobs, states, and divorces as Coldplay sings, “Through chaos as it swirls, it’s us against the world.”  And all my doubts, my fears, jokes I told, and the years of being alone are clear to me because we make sense perfectly. No, of course I am not perfect, but I love him with a perfect love that I never knew before.  When I set out to find “gold,” (hypertext the “Fools gold” article here) my Wentworth, I said I’d know him when I found him and then he found me.
Here’s how I did it – so put down your knitting needles. Your cat has fur gurl.
First you should be happy with yourself, be in a position to date, and be ready to find the love you seek.
I was not dating for free dinners, but instead interviewing for a husband. Be willing to take a risk but remember your time is valuable too. Know what you want and need, and don’t be willing to settle for less.
Be prepared for him. Everything I wanted Wentworth to be I was. I was worthy of our relationship and ready for us. So much so, that I wrote in my journal the night I saw my future husband, my own Mr. Darcy in Armani. (Hey! We’re a fashion magazine)
“. . . He, ‘Wentworth’ my one and only, I think he may have found me.. He was witty, charming, silly, sweet . . . I could not help but like him and just thought, “that’s the one . . . that’s the man I’ve been waiting for, finally!” Just like that.  I knew.”
So I have a morsel of proof, evidence for all the doubters and the bitter women like my former self. This article is addressing any who have lost hope- those who feel doomed to the fate of knitting your cat a sweater and being alone. Your future is not set in stone and my experience is a testament to that. Get worthy of the man of your dreams. Get ready and willing for greatness. The happiest people don’t have the best of everything, but they do make the best of everything. I am Mrs. Wentworth. He found me when I never thought he would  I am not the Bachelorette, a super model, or super hero. I am a stay at home Mom that tries every moment of every day to be the best wife and mother I can be. And the best part is not that it happened to me, but that next year it could all happen to you. – Cliché Mom
