7 Foolproof Shoe and Sock Combos That Every Man Should Know

Today we want to share 7 foolproof shoe and sock combos that every man should know. Have you ever wondered about what the implicit rules are for matching socks with shoes? This may not seem as big an issue as matching your shirt with your pants or pairing certain shirt prints and accessory types with a style of suit. But the fashionable gentleman knows the value of combining the right shoe type with the right sock. And you, too, can become a master of this fine art—whether you’d like to add pleasing symmetry or some artful contrast to the upper half of your outfit, great sock-and-shoe combos will do the trick.

Below is a cheat sheet of sorts that you can refer to when matching your socks and shoes. Use this when shopping for footwear and accessories, like Burlix’s men’s socks, and take your personal style up a whole notch!

For Awesome Style at the Office: The Perfect Oxford and Long Sock Combos

Classic brown men's brogues shoes and a man in blue socks. Men's stylish look.In most traditional office settings, the oxford is the shoe of choice—especially if one anticipates a board meeting or lunch at an upscale restaurant with a client. That means that, from top to bottom, a man should dress to convey utmost professionalism. The closed-lace construction and classic leathery look of an Oxford communicate exactly that, and these shoes should be paired with equally professional-looking socks for maximum impact.

One rule of thumb that you can follow, especially when wearing black Oxfords, is to wear matching black or dark gray socks. Doing so will achieve a streamlined effect on your business wear, thus making you look effortlessly put together. As far as work shoes like Oxfords are concerned, the conservative approach is the best one.

Big Fashion for Big Events: The Right Brogue and Dress Sock Combos

Got a wedding or red-carpet-style event lined up soon? If so, it’s likely time to break out your most intricate wingtips, your smartest pair of monk strap shoes, or some other variety of dressy brogue. After all, the most special events in your life call for the spiffiest shoes. But you have a little more leeway in terms of the socks you can wear with them.

Formal outfits call for very exact pant cuts and tailored fits. That means that your socks will stay covered by your pant legs most of the time, and they’ll only peek out when you sit down. Knowing this, you can go for long socks in straightforward solid colors, like black for a gray suit or beige for a navy suit. Or, you can do the exact opposite and bring out your boldest sock prints. It’s totally fine to add to the festivities with your socks!

Putting the “Smart” in Smart Casual: Nifty Tips for Styling Socks with Loafers, Boat Shoes, or Moccasins

Shoe and Sock CombosHow about yacht parties, outdoor cocktails, or country club socials? These are the perfect occasions to bring out your loafers, boat shoes, or moccasins. But do yourself a favor and don’t slip your bare feet into them. The stitching on new loafer-like shoes can cut or bruise your feet. Additionally, moccasins aren’t very breathable and can cause your feet to sweat. This, in turn, can cause these shoes to develop funky odors.

What’s the best way to stay stylish when wearing these shoes with shorts or chinos? The best compromise is low-cut or no-sock socks, which are socks that only cover the sole and ankle. When you’re wearing your favorite loafer-type shoes, these types of socks will still cushion your feet without noticeably sticking out.

Effortless Style at the Gym: Socks for Trainers and Other Types of Exercise Shoes

You don’t have to be dressed to the nines when you’re at the gym, but many men complete their best workouts in sporty and stylish gear. Trainers and specialty exercise shoes not only provide comfort, but also a much-needed morale boost. Why not treat socks the same way?

When it’s time to get your reps in, don’t hesitate to pair some cool socks with your sportiest trainers. You can choose between crew socks or ankle-length socks, and socks with retro stripes or socks with more modern geometric designs. It depends on which style you think you’d rock.

The Urbane Traveler Aesthetic: Socks for Combat Boots or Chelsea Boots

Shoe and Sock Combos

If you’re traveling to a new city and want to be both comfy and stylish, you can add combat boots or Chelsea boots to your street fashion repertoire. Both combat boots and Chelsea boots can add a masculine edge as well as a touch of urbanity to ordinary denim-dependent outfits.

The high-top length on both of these shoe types demands that you wear long socks to stay comfortable. But it’s recommended that you go for plain and solid socks to emphasize the Chelsea boot’s stylish elastic panel. You have more legroom for combat boots, however—argyle socks and other patterned socks can work well with them.

For the Outdoorsy Gentleman: The Best Socks for Hiking Boots

Then there are the shoes that you’ll wear in the great outdoors, like your hiking boots. You may be more focused on the beauty of Mother Earth than your own sense of fashion, but there’s no reason why you shouldn’t look good on your next trek.

When you’re wearing hiking boots, it’s best to wear wool socks because these have great cushioning and temperature regulation qualities. Get these in your favorite color, or in a print that hearkens to the outdoors. Textured socks in colors like stone gray or autumn leaf brown are great options.

Bold Fashion Footwear: Expressive Socks for High-Top Shoes and Other Statement Sneakers

Lastly, there are some days that you just want to bust out your weirdest, wackiest, and most expressive shoes. If you’ve always liked wearing retro-style high-top basketball shoes or lace-ups, you’re in luck, because these have recently gone back into fashion. The same can be said for statement slip-ons that sport bold logos and metallic details. Sometimes, it’s more fun to wear these with a suit than it is to wear Oxfords or brogues!

For these shoes, you also have a lot of options. You can wear subtler high-cut socks to emphasize the shoe itself, or you can wear equally bold socks. The latter works particularly well if you’re wearing more conservative shirts or bottoms. Just embrace the style you want for yourself, because life is too short for you to always blend in.

Some Last Styling Tips for Going Beyond the Formula

These may be the unwritten rules for wearing certain types of socks with certain types of shoes, but in some cases, it may be best to break them. It can depend on the other colors, textures, or styles the rest of your outfit is sporting. So before you subscribe to each one of these rules wholesale, give yourself a glance in the mirror—and see if your shoes and socks help you look exactly the way you want to.

5 Jackets Every Man Should Own

Today we want to showcase 5 jackets every man should own.  We want to make sure that your spring and fall closet is at its full potential. We’re going to cover eight of the most stylish jackets every man should have in their collection.

Varsity Jacket

No.1 is the varsity jacket whether you’re an athlete or not, every man should have a killer varsity jacket in their collection. Kind of takes you back to those popular high school days and makes you feel like the real sartorial MVP you are. Usually, varsity jackets will feature a cinched cuff, collar, and waist bands. The mid section tends to be a little bit puffier, kind of like the bomber jacket but the biggest difference is that this one has a snap button. On top of that, the particular one is a full leather lambskin one from a company called PalaLeather, which I personally like since it’s almost more high-end with this classic cut. Usually though you will see varsity jackets with some sort of leather combination with other fabric, such as wool.

Black Moto Biker Jacket

5 jackets every man should ownSecond must-have jacket is the black moto or biker jacket. You’ll see everyone from dapper icon David Beckham to the streetwear king Kanye West rocking one of them. So, it is pretty safe to say it’s a pretty damn stylish piece that us commoners should have in our wardrobe. Now, this one is from a new company called PalaLeather. One thing that I really like that these guys do is that they provide extra custom services. Plus size, oversize, embroidery, patches, logo and many other elements you can ask for to realize for one perfect leather jacket. These tend to fit way better and a more precise fit in combination with their super supple goatskin and lambskin leather. You have a timeless classic piece that looks like you just dropped 2 G’s on it. It will elevate any look you throw that jacket over.

Blazer and Trench Jacket

Number three is the trench coat. No gentlemen’s closet is complete with that one of these jackets and the great thing is that here you can have a little bit of fun. You can get something plaid or more classic like your basic black, navy or gray. Point is that the jacket has stood the test of time and outlasted any trend that has come and gone. This is a classic must piece for any gentleman’s closet, at least one trench coat.

Denim Jacket

5 jackets every man should ownNumber four is the denim jacket. A perfect staple piece to own in any wardrobe. It kind of gives you that Americana vibe and it’s great for guys that don’t get to experience super cold winters. If you want something more classic than a darker wash, it’s definitely the way to go. This is the more timeless approach that’ll work great, especially with a smart outfit. However, if you are younger, a lighter wash with some distressing might be a better option to rock with more streetwear type of style. Either way, it’s a great investment.

Bomber Jacket

Number five is the bomber jacket. Now, I’m going to spend too much time here. A bomber jacket can match everything in your wardrobe. It’s such a classic and versatile piece. Definitely a must-have for any guy. This one from PalaLeather delivers insane amounts of quality, like their goatskin leather, crazy durable hardware and a precise attention to detail that truly puts to shame your basic run of the mill fast fashion leather jacket.

If you want to create a unique style, the first thing that you have to remember is to get a hat in your size. Not everyone has the same hat size, and a hat could sit differently from person to person, based on the size of their crown. A regular head circumference is about 22 to 24 inches. A small hat size is suitable for someone with a head circumference of 21 inches, while someone with a larger skull could have a circumference of 14 to 25 inches. With the right hat size, you can be sure that the hat sits comfortably on your head.

Stick to the Basics

If you want to keep your outfit low-key yet look sharp and smart, then stick to the primary colors while choosing a dad hat. Colors like navy, black, dark green, white, gray, or brown never go out of style. You can also choose solid, primary colors like red or blue to make a statement and stand out without looking overdressed.

Choose Unique Graphics

You can choose to flaunt a logo, image, or a word or phrase on your men’s dad hat. This is what makes you stand out. You can also opt for customized designs if you want. An exciting logo or design is sure to attract all the right kinds of attention. You choose to flaunt a corporate logo, a famous symbol from a book or a movie franchise, or even showcase a political or a social message.

You can create an entire outfit around a dad hat. The way you wear the hat also has an impact on the entire look. Most dad hats are meant to be worn with the bill facing the front while the strap should be back. However, depending on the mood, you might choose to wear it the other way round or even to the side. You can wear them with flip-flops on a beach, or with trainers on a regular day ou

Choosing the Right Top

Dad hats go well with jeans. For the top, you can wear it with a V-neck T-shirt and pair it with a jacket. You can zip up the jacket for a street-smart look but do not pair them with blazers or suits. Girls are also wearing dad hats increasingly. They can wear them with jeans, crop tops, and sneakers, or even a slip dress with knee-high boots, which looks very chic.

Team it with Casual Pants

Dad hats also look great with casual pants like sweatpants or khakis. You can make your casuals look dressy with a dad hat without having to go out of your way to seem like you tried too hard. The hats also look great with skinny jeans or bomber jackets. You can wear them with your favorite sports jersey when you are out on a game night with friends with the sports team logo on the hat.

You will always find that the men’s dad hat amplifies your look and makes you look better with it than without! Soon, you will have a good collection that goes with a wide range of outfits in your wardrobe.

A Men’s Clothing Guide To Color Co-ordinating

Today we want to give you a great men’s clothing guide to color co-coordinating.  Color coordination is an art. Certain colors can have a strong emotional impact or may have a symbolism attached to them. They may pair well with certain colors and clash with others. By understanding how colors work together, you can dress more stylishly. Below are just a few men’s fashion tips on how to incorporate colors into your clothing.

Dressing in neutrals

men's clothing guide

Photo by vickie vj on Unsplash

Neutral colors are ‘safe’ colors. You can wear them together in practically any combo and they will work. These colors include black, white, gray, navy, brown and.

It’s good to always own a few neutral items of clothing. In fact, it’s possible to dress entirely in neutral tones (as many men do). Items such as these ones from Arcteryx Veilance can be ideal for a minimal neutral outfit. Alternatively, you can try out different textures and patterns.

Adding pops of color

Once you start breaking out of the neutral color palette, you need to take care as to which items of clothing you wear together. Adding ‘pops’ of color to a neutral outfit is the easiest way to incorporate other colors. This could include wearing a red t-shirt with a jacket, jeans, socks and shoes all in neutral tones.

You can add two pops of the same color. For instance, you could wear a green jacket and green sneakers while keeping the rest of your outfit in neutral shades. These could be the same shade of green or slightly different shades.

Going monochrome

Dressing entirely in one color can be a little more daring. Often, it’s best to use subtle shade differences rather than dressing entirely in one exact shade of the same color. For instance, when dressing all in blue, you might want to opt for a dark blue t-shirt, light blue jeans and navy blue sneakers.

Black is the one exception where you can dress entirely in the same tone. It can look slightly gloomy when dressing in more formal clothing – unless you’re dressing for a funeral, you may want to add the odd pop of color. All black casual clothing can work more effectively.

Understanding color psychology

Certain colors can have a psychological impact on people around you. This could be worth noting if you’re dressing for a job interview or a date.

Red for instance can be a persuasive color, although it can sometimes run the risk of being aggressive in tone on men. Blue is a more calming color, although it can also come across as conservative in some situations. You can find out more about color psychology in clothing here at Fashion is Psychology.

Wearing colors together

When wearing multiple colors together outside of the neutral palette, it’s worth noting their relationship on the color wheel. This can dictate which colors go well together – and which colors don’t go so well together.

You can check out the color wheel here at Canva

Associated colors are any two colors directly next to each other on the color wheel. These can often be paired harmoniously together. Such colors include blue and blue-green, as well as red and red-violet.

Complimentary colors are any two colors directly opposite one another on the color wheel. These can also work well together in many cases. These include blue and orange or yellow and violet.

Blacks, whites and greys are not located on the color wheel, as are many mixtures of colors such as brown, burgundy and turquoise. For this reason, the color wheel isn’t always the best guide on how to use colors.

A few colors that work particularly well together include:

  •         Black and white
  •         Black and grey
  •         Grey and pink
  •         Brown and burgundy
  •         Cream and brown
  •         Navy and white
  •         Green and khaki

There are a few combos that don’t work particularly well and should be kept away from. These include:

  •         Red and green
  •         Green and orange
  •         Purple and yellow
  •         Red and orange
  •         Brown and black

Wearing patterns

Patterned items of clothing should be contrasted with block colors. Two patterned items of clothing are likely to clash – especially if the patterns are in different colors.

This is something to especially when wearing a shirt and tie – only ever wear a patterned shirt with a block colored tie and only ever wear a block colored shirt with a patterned tie.

Shirts to Jeans: How Men’s Fashion Has Evolved in 100 Years

Have you ever thought how men’s fashion has evolved in 100 years?  Today’s men’s fashion has come a long way and has been forever evolving since. If we take a look at men’s fashion from the last 100 years, we can see how men have been styling staples from mens fashion shirts to crop tops. Here’s a short and brief history on how much stylish menswear has evolved!

how men's fashion has evolved

Between 1920-1929, you have what is called the Jazz Age. This era of dressing optimized different shades of colors; it had simpler, slimmer and brighter clothing styles. Men usually wore fitted jackets with sloping shoulders. Bow ties were commonly accompanied with slim tapered pants.

From 1930-1939, this was the age of the economic crash. Conserving fabric’s integrity is what it was known for. This is when the superman silhouette became most popular. It was all about wearing mens fashion shirts and jackets with broad shoulders, and tapered pants paired with thin waist coats and suit jackets.

Between 1940-1949, this was the wartime era, also known as the wartime austerity. This is when anything flashy was out of fashion, such as striped men’s dress shirts. This era was about patriotism amongst society.

From 1950-1959, it was the time to welcome the king of rock and roll! This was the era of men’s fashion that was made famous by Elvis Presley. You’d find many dark flannel suits, portraying both conformity and idealism. This era belonged to slimmer ties and subtle shirts, like mens fashion shirts with short collars.

During 1960-1969, get ready to be on stage because this era is for The Beatles! Work outfits were rather relaxed. Many were confident enough to walk into offices in army coats, denim jackets, and cool shirts for men. Skinny ties and slim-fit designer shirts for men were a popular outfit choice.

From 1970-1979, hold onto your seats for this one! This is the era of fast fashion. This era belonged to bell-bottom pants, fashion sneakers. and three-piece disco suits. If you were searching for cool shirts for men, this decade had the absolute coolest prints and patterns!

Between 1980-1989, this was known as the quirky decade of stylish menswear. Activewear was the most popular men’s clothing style. This is also when men’s fashion brands became more prominent and worn as a trend statement. Left and right, men were wearing high-end designer shirts for men.

During 1990-1999, hip-hop and high rave anyone? This decade was when loose-fit harem pants and cool shirts for men with trendy trainers exploded in popularity, along with urban graphic hoodies.

Then 2000-2010 came and went. I’m remembering this decade like it happened yesterday. The trendy menswear fusion is undeniable. These years welcomed graphic t-shirts, leather pants and puffer jackets.

how men's fashion has evolvedOf course, 2010-2019, we should be all familiar with this decade! History has a tendency to repeat itself, right? This most recent decade is where casual meets classy. From cool shirts for men to high-top sneakers to streetwear hoodies, millennial’s have an open attitude towards men’s fashion. Even K-pop is leading the world’s streetwear with men’s fashion shirts and drop-crotch pants. This is all thanks to the growing platforms of social media.

In this era, we are not afraid to step out the norm; we want to catch everyone’s attention. Today, everything from skinny jeans to designer shirts for men and the brands we wear are important to us. We can wear any style of cool fashion shirts for men and not feel unusual because everyone has become more open-minded with fashion.

Today, men just want to wear men’s fashion shirts that make them comfortable in their own skin, such as men’s dress shirts from trendy menswear store Differio. We should be trying out different styles, fabrics and designs to see what suits us.

Current men’s fashion trends have shown us a lot within the past 100 years. Look how far and daring we have become. It’s exciting to see what the next 10 years will bring. With the use of social media and creative minds, there’s a lot of men’s fashion waiting to flourish. What will be next?

How to Dress to Impress Your Casino Date Tonight?

Casinos have become a popular place for a date lately. It is still among the most common venues for the romantics, but more and more couples decide to visit one of America’s numerous adventurous casinos. We all want to stand out in a huge crowd and in places with lots of noise going around. This is where a proper dress code can make all the difference in terms of your overall experience for the night. If you look good, you will feel good too. There are no doubts you will have a much better time when you show off your personality in the most appropriate way through your apparel.

Men’s Fashion

We all tend to follow the latest trends in all life spheres. Just as all online operators need to launch a strong real money poker app nowadays, we need to take a look at clothes popular for the specific occasion at the specific time of the year to stand out in crowded environments like casinos. Fashion is quite simple for men as there are combinations you can never make a mistake with. You don’t necessarily have to wear a full suit to look attractive to your significant one on a date. A regular button-down shirt, paired with dark pants, a decent jacket, and adequate shoes will do the job on every single occasion. It is much more important to know whether something fits you well. As long as the pants are not too long and as long as your shirt is not wrinkled, you will be good. Eventually, you can go with regular fit jeans and a polo shirt with a light sweater for a more casual occasion.

Women’s Fashion

Women generally pay much more attention to details and usually need much more time to prepare a combination that will make you stand out in a crowd. In reality, there is something they can’t make a mistake with either. A simple midi dress and high heels will always be classy. The main tip for females would be to be careful about wearing something that does not actually fit their body types. Women usually exaggerate trying to avoid areas they are not huge fans of about themselves. Obviously, they should always wear something they will feel comfortable in. If you can’t walk wearing specific high heels, go for simpler shoes. Casino dates can include dancing and the more comfortable shoes will help you impress your partner on the floor.

What to avoid

A casino date is much more than gambling. It usually involves dining in a fancy environment and dancing on the podium. Bear in mind you are not going to drink beers at the pub. You should always wear well-fitted and classy clothes to show you’ve done the effort to look good. Both men and women should obviously avoid sports clothes, leggings, shorts, miss-matched prints, etc. Males should particularly avoid sandals.

The aforementioned tips represent the core fashion principles we should all take into consideration before going out to a fancy casino date with our partners.

How Men Should Accessorize In 2020 And Beyond

Today we want to give you some great tips on how men should accessorize in 2020.  In the past, it was only women who thought of augmenting their casual and formal outfit with extra items of jewellery, hats, scarves, or anything else they felt added to the appeal of the outfit. In recent years, however, men have begun to get in on the act as well, using rings, watches, and hats to set off their outfits. In this guide, we take a look at some of the trends for men and how men should accessorize in 2020.

Perhaps it’s because hats are super flexible, protect the head from sunlight or rain, and offer a gentlemanly prop when out and about. Still, just when you thought they had gone out of fashion, they come back again with a new style that catches your eye and gets you thinking about a possible new look.

Some hats never go out of style, like caps and beanies, then others come and go. Think trilby’s, brim hats, pork pie hats. Here are some of the ones that are definitely on point in 2020.

The Fedora hat is a classic brim hat with a lower and upper part. The crown is famous for having two dents in it. They come in various colors and are ideal for a sunny day in the garden or out in town.

The trilby hat was once trendy, then slipped out of style for a while. It’s back now! This classic performs a similar function to the Fedora but is more suitable for younger men. Add style to any outfit with a well-chosen trilby.

Coming into winter in 2020 beanie hats for men are on the A-list. Never far away from fashion, this years’ beanies are likely to be colorful but subtle. Men are on the lookout for beanies that are versatile and go with a range of outfits.

how men should accessorize

Rings have been worn by men for thousands of years to display wealth, status, or to show they are a member of an elite group. The reasons for wearing rings may have changed over the years, but the desire to display one’s personality through this unique accessory has not diminished. That’s why many men choose to wear a high-quality ring as well as their wedding band.

Alpine rings have a full range of tungsten wedding bands for men and perfect for any occasion or character type. The rings combine sleek classic styles with natural and traditional elements to create rings suitable for the modern gentleman. Below are some of the most popular choices for men this year.

The black tungsten with domed zebra wood exterior is bold and unique. It’s made from tungsten so it will last forever, precisely what you want since it defines your personality. Regardless of the occasion or your style, this ring was built for your finger.

The black tungsten wedding bands with African padauk wood interior is slightly different although it does sport the same durability and lasting qualities of its neighbors. The wood interior of this ring is smooth and distinctive, making it comfortable to wear. Furthermore, its tungsten quality means it will appear forever new.

how men should accessorizeThere are two schools of thought on the wearing of a watch. One group says that it’s pointless, the time is everywhere nowadays, on smartphones and computers, and almost every digital display you turn your attention to. But others argue that there is always a place for a watch on a man’s wrist. Wearing a watch to tell the time is a preference, on top of that its individual, adding style and character.

So what are the best timepieces to go for at the beginning of this new decade? Well, the Bamford London Mayfair Date is in with a loud shout. It has a black band that supports a titanium face. The monochrome color scheme fits in with any style, and it is robust and dependable, making it ideal for formal occasions as well as outdoor activities.

This year is all about sustainability and self-consciousness, and some watchmakers are meeting the market demand. Baume Small Seconds is offering a stylish slim-lined timepiece made entirely from recycled and upcycled materials. These watches are fully customizable and can be configured online.

The Bell and Rose BR03-92 Nightlum is designed for those who like a basic, uncomplicated watch, suitable for most purposes and styled like a government-issue military accessory. This is not too far from the reality since B&R do specialize in aviation. If you want a hard-wearing no-nonsense watch, the nightclub is for you.

When thinking about your style, footwear is all-important. Although it might not be the very first thing, you consider, it shouldn’t be the last either. Footwear can influence the overall look of an outfit and make or break its success. In the short guide below, we take a look at some of the styles in fashion this year.

Loake Mulligans are renowned for making shoes and boots that are designed to last. Their footwear has been made in the same family-owned factory since 1894, so they come with a strong reputation. Their derby brogues are made with sturdy brown leather and have a durable rubber sole. They work with any outfit, formal or casual  And are also pretty good for hiking.

Baker Alderley has released a new range of formal shoes in both black and brown that are classic in style but ready for today’s market. They are seriously smart leather-soled shoes with light punches holes around the lace and heel. 3 of the Best Leather Belts for Men to Wear

Leather belts for men always make a great Fathers Day gift.  Leather has been around nearly as long as people have even though leather is less popular than ever before.  Some may see this as a victory for animal rights, but it’s not.  Leather is often a byproduct of the meat industry. When a cow is killed for meat, the hide is harvested to be made into leather, which means cows aren’t usually killed exclusively for leather.

Some high-end brands may depend solely on leather, but in most cases, leather isn’t lucrative enough to support a farm on its own. It also doesn’t make any sense to sell just one part of a cow if you can sell multiple.  This means that if you eat meat, buying leather may be more ethical than boycotting it. With that in mind, we’ll talk about some of the best leather belts in the paragraphs below.

1. Levi’s Reversible Jean Belt

Leather belts for men

Much like Dickies, Levi’s products are fairly affordable. This reversible belt costs around $20, which isn’t a bad price for a decent leather product. Plus, since it’s reversible,  this belt can be worn twice without feeling like you’re re-wearing clothes.

In terms of ethics, Levi’s is a decent company. It uses leather, down, and wool in its products. This may sound bad, but leather is usually made from meat cows. Three-quarters of all down in the world is made from geese who are harvested for their meat.  Shearing sheep doesn’t harm them at all. In fact, it prevents them from getting overheated, so they need to be sheared to survive.

The only word of warning has to do with leather. A lot of leather from many companies is touted as ‘genuine leather,’ which means that the leather is sourced from animals, though not always cows.

2. Dockers Men’s Casual Belt

Dockers are known for being a classic brand that goes with almost any outfit. They’re also fairly affordable, costing less than $30 at most, and has a reputation for being durable.

Dockers aim to make sustainable goods, and they’re doing quite well at it. In terms of animal treatment, they’re similar to Levi’s.

3. ColsenKeane Belts

Leather belts for menColsenKeane hand crafted leather goods are known for making high-quality leather products. They make full-grain leather goods that are completely unique and meant to last a lifetime or more. They take pride in the fact that their leather goods will last long enough to hand down to the next generation and maybe the next.

Full-grain is the highest quality leather available, and ColsenKeane sources all of its leather from tanneries in the United States to help provide the best leather belts they can. It’s definitely worth looking into if you want something with a story.

The Best Leather Belts for Men

Choosing the best leather belts can be a challenge because everybody has different standards that help mark something as the best. We’ve mentioned a few of our favorites in the paragraphs above, but it’s definitely worth looking into others. You might want to do more research and decide for yourself.

License to Thrill: How to Get The Perfect James Bond Style

If you want to know how to get the perfect James Bond style, listen up. Whether it’s the Walther PPK or the vodka martini, James Bond has his own way of doing things. Through six actors and 24 (soon to be 25) films, some things haven’t changed: 007 knows how to dress. The gentleman spy always makes an effort and has the perfect outfit for every occasion.

It’s quite necessary for the life of an international spy. If James Bond’s life is as hectic as the films suggest then he has quite the schedule. He could have a morning meeting in London, a skiing trip for lunch, and be foiling an international criminal conspiracy before supper. And that’s not to mention the twelve to fourteen dates with supermodels and scientists he has each day.

Bond comes prepared and is ready for every occasion. Let’s look at how he adapts his clothing to the ever-changing needs of international espionage.

When it’s hot

James Bond is no stranger to the heat but for 007, it’s all about staying cool. You never know when you’ll be sent to faraway beaches so be prepared. Bond has done just that but things have certainly changed through the years. Back in the Sean Connery era, Dr No saw 007 in a powder blue wool polo shirt with matching trousers. The legs were rolled up for Connery but Roger Moore removed them altogether. His terrycloth play suit in Goldfinger is the stuff of legend.

But things soon changed. Moore’s Bond braved the heat with a rather fetching safari shirt and trousers combination in The Man With The Golden Gun but MI6’s finest got a lot more casual as time went on. By the time Pierce Brosnan had taken up the mantel, 007 was wearing Hawaiian shirts. If that isn’t your thing, just throw on a pair of blue swimming shorts a la Daniel Craig’s Bond.

When it’s cold

International terrorists need holidays just like the rest of us. So, Bond is used to a trip to the Alps to foil some dastardly plot. Daniel Craig did it stylishly in Spectre but that wasn’t the only time Bond headed for the mountains. Roger Moore’s incarnation dressed for the slopes way back in 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me with this rather shocking McDonald’s-inspired yellow and red one piece suit. Pack your ski gun and Union Jack parachute to complete the look. There’s a reason it was ranked by IGN as the number one James Bond moment.

When it’s formal

Ask anyone about James Bond’s clothing and they’ll think of a tuxedo. The gentleman spy is more used to a suit and tie than anything else, which is only natural considering how much time he spends in casinos. From Diamonds Are Forever to Skyfall, 007 knows his way around a game of poker or roulette. It’s a reason why James Bond is ranked by online casino Betway as one of the best examples of casinos in popular culture. That reputation is well-earned with Bond fully representing the setting.

To do that, you’ve got to look good. Bond typically went for a classic tuxedo, the black jacket, trousers, and bow tie with a white shirt. That has occasionally made way for a white jacket like Roger Moore and Sean Connery as well as Daniel Craig’s trip to the Casino Monte-Carlo in Casino Royale.

Of course, sometimes a tuxedo is just too normal. In those instances, Bond has typically gone for just a standard three or four-piece suit and tie. The waistcoats have become less common down the years but what has remained is 007’s sense of style.

When it’s specialist

But sometimes a suit just won’t do. Some occasions require specialist garb and fortunately for Bond, he has the full weight of MI6 behind him. The result is a rather extended wardrobe. Take for instance this scuba suit he wore back in Thunderball. Sean Connery’s Bond was bold enough to wear this red latex suit with a harpoon gun to complete the look.

Secret Service. 007 rocked the full kilt and sporran combination as well as a rather unusual golfing outfit in the same film.  But, of course, not everything is a big hit for Bond. He has occasionally ended up looking like a clown. Octopussy is the best example of this with the gentleman spy donning full face paint, red nose, and a wacky hat to complete the transformation into a clown. Clearly, Bond didn’t follow his own advice in this instance and ended up regretting it.  We hoped you liked our article on how to get the perfect James Bond style

Men’s Styles That Will Never go out of Style

There are certain men’s styles that are here to stay. If you’re looking to update your wardrobe or want to know what pieces you should absolutely have, here are some of the best items to have in your wardrobe that will never go out of style:

Leather Jackets

The leather jacket has long been a cool-guy look, and definitely a part of our list of men’s styles that will never go out of style. Leather jackets are now offered in a wide range of colors and styles for men and women. But if you want a truly timeless style, choose a black leather motorcycle jacket similar to the one Marlon Brando wears in The Wild One (1953) or else one with a more modern cut like a leather racer or bomber jacket.

You can wear a leather jacket just about anywhere now, even many offices (though this is usually reserved for creative professionals). It’s also a great date night look. But how should you wear it? For the ultimate classic look, pair it with a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and boots. To vary up this formula, swap in a graphic t-shirt, button-down shirt, black or gray jeans, chinos, or sneakers.

Oxford Lace-Up Shoes

If you love enduring and timeless men’s styles, this is, by far, one of the most classic menswear shoe styles.  It’s the perfect shoe to pair with a suit, but it also looks great with a button-down shirt and slacks, or even a more casual look than that. The most timeless material and color would be black leather oxfords, but oxfords in gray, a shade of brown, or oxblood would also be a great choice. For a more casual look, go for a suede material or a bolder color like blue or green. Want a more formal or polished look? Opt for black patent leather oxfords.

Well-Tailored Suits

If there’s one thing we learned from How I Met Your Mother’s Barney Stinson, it’s that a great suit never goes out of style. It’s one of the best ways that men can make a fashion statement and a great impression, no matter where they are — the office, the bar, or the poker table. Sure, a suit might look a little out of place at the beach or even at a casual sports game, but you’d certainly look great (and important). It doesn’t really matter how you wear it, either. Tie or no tie, unbuttoned or buttoned blazer — it’s all timeless.

A well-tailored suit is the most timeless type of suit. This doesn’t mean that it has to have a very slim cut, but the cut should fit you well and not be baggy or oversized. A black suit is the most timeless color, but other colors that will never truly go out of style include gray, navy, and brown (or tan). A fitted suit doesn’t have to be expensive, either — though a slightly more expensive suit will likely last longer than a cheap suit from H&M. But don’t focus too much on the fit when buying it as long as you like everything else. Once you find a suit you like, take it to the tailor. Before you know it, you’ll have a great suit on your hands — made just for you.

Button-Down Shirts

Men's Styles

This timeless style is another absolute must-have. Besides white, blue, or pinstripe button-downs for work or formal occasions, you should also have button-down shirts for dates, business casual settings, or even just day-to-day wear. One of the most popular casual options is a denim button-down, which would be a great choice for casual day wear or even a date (depending on the date’s location). For more sophisticated date button-downs, choose a shirt in a darker shade like navy blue, black, gray, or burgundy. Pair the look with slacks or dark-colored jeans.

Another classic style that is becoming increasingly popular again is the short sleeve button-down shirt. With this style, feel free to choose a bolder color or pattern, especially for daytime wear. If you want a more sophisticated look, choose this style in a plain color and button the shirt the whole way up.

ACID NYC Shines During NYFW Fall/Winter 2019 Showcase in Chelsea

It’s February, and you know what that means! No, it’s not the time of year where New Year’s Resolutions are typically broken. It’s not where you have to start thinking of how you’re going to top past Valentine’s Days. February celebrates New York Fashion Week. It’s the time where the best and brightest fashion designers – both seasoned and newcomers – present their new fall collections for retail buyers, the fashion press, and others that heavily influence the fashion industry. One fashion company that shined and received rave reviews in past showcases was ACID NYC. Spearheaded by the New York Native, husband and wife design team of Evelyn Luna and Scott Chester, ACID NYC had the opportunity to showcase their brand new 2019 fall and winter line in Chelsea, and once again, they did not disappoint.

She was born in the Bronx, and he in Brooklyn, and in March 2014, Luna and Chester were able to combine their creative and technical talents to launch ACID NYC. According to their website, the pair do not have to look far to find their inspiration. “We find our inspiration in the hidden beauty of our surroundings and then present them on the runway as museum quality prints on beautifully tailored garments.” Luna and Chester take pride in both representing and paying homage to the place they call home, the place that has given them so much: New York City.

On Sunday, February 10, ACID NYC took center stage at the Union West Events venue located on West 28th Street in New York City. At exactly 3:30 PM, the models gracefully made their way onto the runway unveiling a slew of unique designs for both men and women in a collection named “Architectura”. The prints were undoubtedly geometric in various shapes and colors and took inspiration by the breathtaking architecture – neoclassical and modern alike –  that covers nearly every inch of New York City. This was evident by the oversized, building-like coats that some of the models were wearing on the runway. When it came to some of the ladies wear, “the dresses that were orange and blue were inspired by the sunsets reflecting off of glass, or daytime sky and trees reflecting on glass”, according to Luna.

All of the models had the wonderful opportunity of having their hair done by ECRU New York. The styling of each model’s hair, was a perfect match to what they were wearing on the runway, allowing each timeless piece to pop the way they deserved to. As with previous showcases by ACID NYC, there’s no doubt that this was another hit for the designing duo force of Evelyn Luna and Scott Chester.
