We all know that you don’t have to spend a fortune to look good or to have good quality. Milani’s Color Statement Lipsticks are a must in every girl’s lipstick collection. These babies will change your world as they have a light and creamy consistency with rich pigmentation and a wide color scheme. Formulated with vitamins A and C, these lipsticks give a moisturizing and nourishing feel, so there’s no need to sweat the thought of dry, feathery lips midway through the day. Milani can be found at drugstores such as Walgreens and CVS and is priced anywhere from $4.99-5.99 depending upon store and location. Well-loved and popular picks that will look stellar and on trend for this season are Best Red, the perfect go-to red; Rose Hip, a beautiful pink to get you feeling in the mood for spring’s beautiful weather, and Uptown Mauve, a gorgeous in-between of pink and fushia. With Milani’s smooth and long lasting formula, a lip liner is optional, but not a must.

Complete Your Outfit With Your Nails

If you are as obsessed with your nails as I am, you live by two very important rules: chipped nails are your worst enemy, and the color must always go hand in hand with your outfit. Some girls don’t necessarily consider the color of their nails when getting dressed—which is fine—but let me tell you,  when you complete your outfit with your nails, it makes all the difference! Pairing a red top with bright orange nails can really throw off your whole get up.

Pay attention to the color wheel—yes, that big circular board with a bunch of colors that was taught in art class. The color wheel is a great way for you to visually see how your purple nails enhance your yellow loose knit sweater. All you have to do is locate the color of your choice on the wheel and match it with the corresponding color on the opposite end.

If you don’t like incorporating bright colors, flashy designs, or don’t want to change the color of your nails on a weekly basis, then shoot for the standard nudes. These can include light pink hues or different versions of pastels. For an added touch, incorporate some sparkles—they really add a feminine touch.

If you are getting into the fall spirit and love dark nails, deep burgundy reds are always a great choice for brisk weather outfits. But if you’re hesitant, stick with the one color that matches everything—black!

Spring Makeup Blossoming Colors

Spring—it brings bright and lively colors to the end of our dull and cold winter season. Let’s follow in its footsteps and bring some gorgeous color into our makeup! The advantage about using bright colors around the eyes is that it’s the first thing people notice and it makes our eyes look a lot larger. Why stop there? There are so many products in stores that can help bring some color into your everyday look, whether you just want to add a little color or make a long-lasting impression. With that in mind, I have searched for and discovered some great trends we can use this spring. By Jasmine Moustafa

Watermelon Eyes

For this look, you will only need four products: liquid eye liner, highlighter, and high pigment pink and green eye shadows. This look is pretty easy to accomplish and it will leave your eyes looking great for spring. The shadows I recommend to pull this look together can be found in the Sephora makeup academy palette. For the liquid liner and the mascara, you can use liquid eyeliner by NYC and high impact mascara by Clinique, or just use your favorites.

Rainbow Eyes

Warning: if the eyeshadows are too close to the same color, the rainbow look will not be successful. I suggest using only four colors: pink, green, blue, and purple. You should use green and blue on the bottom lid and pink and purple on the top lid. The eye shadows you are using must have a high pigment or you will not see the vibrant colors. To top this look off, apply liquid eyeliner and mascara.

The Perfect Pink Lip

If you’re just looking to add a little color to your look, it can be achieved with the right lipstick. Pink Friday by Nicki Minaj will give you that perfect pink lip you’re looking for. This is a semi-matte lipstick, which means if you want it to sparkle, you will need to layer it with your favorite gloss.

The Best Blush

To bring some color and glow to your skin, I recommend using L’Oreal’s True Match blush, particularly in the shade Barely Blushing. This blush adds a peachy natural glow to an everyday look. It’s subtle, but fresh and light, making it great for spring.

Pop of Color

If you’re looking for a way to add some color to your hair and you don’t want to use any harsh chemicals like bleach, then using hair extensions is the best way. There are a few pros for using hair extensions instead of coloring. One, you can switch you hair color as many times as you want. Two, it will not cause any damage to your hair. Three, the color doesn’t fade or grow out like it does when you dye your hair. I thought this idea was so great that I came up with a list of hair extensions you should try out that will bring a pop of color to your hair.

IRemy is at the top of my list. I own a set of neon pink hair extensions from them and so far they’ve been great. I’ve had my extensions for about four months now and they’re still nice and silky. They are very easy to put on; just divide your hair into sections and clip them in. Just like that, you can totally change your look. Another plus is that IRemy uses actual human hair so you can style it, and it’s the most budget-friendly extension I have found so far.

Satin Strands
If you’re really just trying to have fun with your hair and you’re not trying to pull off these extensions as being your real hair, then you definitely have to try out Satin Strands I-Feather. It is very fun and flirty. All you have to do is clip it into your hair to give it that feather look. The I-Feather comes in three colors—pink, purple and teal—and they can be found in most Sally shops.

Okay, these extensions will definitely cost you; they run about $140 for a set and up. These are the type of extension you would buy if you are looking to keep them in for a while. These extension can be dyed, shampooed, straightened and curled because it is 100% human hair. They’re considered top notch quality, nothing to play around with. These extensions run closer to natural hair colors so you can use them to create high and low lights.

If you’re just looking to play up your look and create a flirty feel then I suggest looking into the first two on this list, but if you’re shopping for a special occasion or are planning on keeping them in for a long time then you really want to go with Remy. I really love the idea of having extensions and being able to switch them around when you feel like. And the best thing: extensions won’t damage your hair.

Mani-Pedi Musts

4733601645_0037326b60_zThere’s nothing like a fresh mani-pedi to provide feelings of refinement and rejuvenation. However, week after week of attention can lead to a lack of green in wallets with an excess of cobwebs in its place. So, why not bring the salon home and give yourself endless mani-pedis for a fraction of the cost? These tools and tips will have friends asking you, “Where did you get your nails done?” immediately.
Rough around the edges
Start with clean nails by removing all nail polish. Even if you don’t have any on, give your nail beds a quick swipe to remove any hidden polish or dirt. Then, exfoliate hands and feet with your favorite scrub or better yet, cane sugar. Most store-bought scrubs are sugar or salt scrubs. Make your own with a cup of sugar, some water, fresh lime and orange juice. This will smooth out hands, leaving them softer than ever.

Make them Melt
Cuticle oils and removers are essential for salon-look nails, but Formula10’s Pink Creamy Cuticle Remover is the most effective. The accordion shaped bottle makes application easy. Squeeze the bottle and run the long nozzle along nail beds. Allow to sit for one minute.
Nit Picky
Once your cuticles have absorbed some remover, use the flat end of a cuticle removing tool to push cuticles back. This will cause dead cuticles and skin to fold and the tweezer-prong shaped side of the tool can be used to pick away the melted cuticles. This will result in clean, moisturized and most importantly, healthy looking nail beds that are ready to be moisturized.
Silky Smooth
After all of that preparation, what seems to be simple would be applying lotion. It really is as easy as that, but the wrong lotion could have consequences for skin. Overly fragrant products are often only so, while body butters or creams can leave skin oily and greasy instead of saturated. Any of Aveeno’s lotions can conquer this issue, but the Aveeno Skin Relief 24hr Moisturizing Lotion targets dry skin and moisturizes it back to health.

Nail Beds of Steel
Salon quality nails must be durable and resistant to cracks or breaks. That’s why Sally Hansen’s VitaSurge Growth Gel is the best start to growing strong nails. Apply a small, spreadable amount of the gel onto each nail and then rub it in with fingers or applicator. The beads inside the formula infuse vitamins A, C and E into nails to promote growth. This is essential for nails that undergo lots of painting.

Growing and Growing
Before airbrushing tiny daisies, stenciling a French tip or simply applying a solid color, apply a base coat to nails. Essie’s Grow Stronger will strengthen nails while providing primer for the coats to come.
Final Don’t Touch
After all is said and done and each finger and toe is perfectly painted, the final piece to the puzzle is topcoat. Recently, matte coats have become a trend, but for on-the-go nails with high gloss, Nails Inc. London’s Kensington Caviar Top Coat does the trick. This top coat dries to the touch in 45 seconds, but fully dries in ten minutes and creates a slick, gel-effect—the perfect touch for salon-quality nails.
There’s some hard work behind a fresh mani-pedi, but with the right tools and enough practice, anyone can create salon quality nails.

No-Fuss Summer Lips

The sun is plastered against a clear blue sky, school is out, and your earbuds are blasting your favorite song. Summer time means no worries, and there are only three precious months of it to enjoy before school starts again. Don’t waste time in front of a mirror when you could be on the beach, underwater, or partying. These classic summer lips will help salvage those few extra minutes you need to pack some extra bottles of water into your cooler.

In honor of summer holidays, like Flag Day or Labor Day, fully embrace your red, white, and blue spirit with some fiery red lips. For perfect lines (and so that you don’t have to constantly reapply), fill your lips with liner after lining them to your desired shape. It might feel odd, but this provides lips with extra primer, and if your lipstick does wear off, no one will notice! Try Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in “Gash” ($19.00) underneath your red. The creamy liner will cover every spot.
Princess Pink
It’s summer! Grab an umbrella drink, your bikini, tanning oil, and embrace your inner girly-girl. Shades of pink will help increase the effect of tanned skin. Lady Gaga’s Mac Viva Glam is just enough pink to brighten up any look.

Au Naturale
If it’s too humid for an intense look, and your face is melting before you can even apply concealer, then your best bet is to go natural! I don’t mean skinny dipping, though. Any lip balm will saturate lips, but for a super glossy finish, apply a tiny amount of non-tinted aloe vera to lips. It’s a natural lip gloss that will get you noticed while curing sunburn.
Duck face or prune pout, these basic lips are essential to get you through the rest of summer. So pucker up and get ready to hashtag your favorite looks all summer long.
