Hunter Blair Ambrose Releases End of Summer Single, “Alone Together”

New York City-based Pop/R&B artist and songwriter, Hunter Blair Ambrose released her new single, “Alone Together.” The single gives listeners the perfect closing summer bop while they begin preparing for Autumn.

Amid the early days of the coronavirus pandemic and a worldwide lockdown, Hunter Blair Ambrose found solace in songwriting and introspection, using this almost eerily quiet time for creativity and self-reflection.

When creating “Alone Together” she took 1980s bombast and met it with layered synths and soaring melodies after being inspired by The Weeknd’s pandemic era blockbuster album, After Hours. The single came together as a glittering, late summer disco banger with deeply reflective lyrics that a post-pandemic world can certainly relate to.

“ ‘Alone Together’ reflects a universal feeling of isolation, loneliness and melancholia felt around the world during 2020 met with my own reflections of failings in love.”Hunter Blair Ambrose

Inspired by dark, synth-pop, chilling Toronto R&B, and the melodic hip hop of the 2010s, Hunter has created a sound that has been shaped by the music that has been the soundtrack to her life. Influenced by iconic artists such as Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, Ariana Grande, Drake, David Bowie, Prince, and The Weeknd, Hunter creates immersive and well-rounded music along with an image that is equal parts provocative as they are compelling.

By the age of 17, she had immersed herself in the company of industry giants, working alongside Grammy-award winning musicians and producers such as Narada Michael Walden, and working as an in-house songwriter and studio vocalist Tarpan Studios in San Francisco, CA.

Shortly after the inception of her career, she enrolled in Boston’s Berklee College of Music and quickly emerged as one of the school’s many promising, young talents.

Following her departure from Berklee, from 2017 through 2019, Hunter wrote and produced material with her core creative team for her debut EP, Scorpio Rising (April 2020). The project was supported by the singles, “Right Now” and “November” which featured an interpolation of Lady Gaga’s “Alejandro.”

Listeners can look forward to more singles and music videos dropping this year to immerse them deeper into the world Scorpio Season created when released in April.

Sug Daniels Releases New Single “Heavy” Backed By New Record Label Weird Sister Records

What do you do when you fall in love with a friend after a tough breakup? Sug Daniels seeks to answer this question in her newest single,Heavy.”

Heavy is the horrible awkwardness of having romantic desires for a friend but not being sure if the feeling is mutual. “This song is all the things I’m still too chicken shit to admit,” Daniels writes. “I think people, queer and otherwise, can relate to the fear of holding a torch for someone when they are in a sensitive place in their life.”

The leading single serves as the first glimpse into Sug Daniels’ forthcoming EP Franklin Street, slated for release this fall through Weird Sister Records. The Franklin Street EP is also the first time Daniels is producing a body of work on her own.

Sug Daniels is a singer, songwriter, and producer who is using the tools around her to capture the emotions of an era. Daniels’ work is as colorful, vulnerable, and charismatic as her personality. She thoughtfully combines elements of folk, R&B, and low-fi alternatives to create personal and tender music interlaced with messages of truth and positive change.

Growing up in the rural town of Smyrna, Delaware, Daniels had felt first-hand both the extreme joy and the major isolation that many LGBTQ+ people experience in Southern Baptist-style churches. After coming out, she left the church but continued her journey armed with the love of powerful music and celebration of community. She currently resides in the city of Wilmington, Delaware, continuing to create music to share and inspire those around her.  After leading two successful musical projects, Hoochi Coochi and FlowCity, Sug Daniels has set out to create solo music that reflects her current views and personal stories.

On top of dropping her new single, Daniels is also celebrating her signing with Weird Sister Records, becoming the first signed artist on the label’s roster.

Sick and tired of the white dude music business machine, Deanna DiLandro and Madison Hetterly created Weird Sister Records, a label model that provides a safe space to women, trans and non binary people in creative industries. With a commitment to being an anti-racist organization that encourages equity, diversity and anti-racist actions in the music industry, DiLandro and Hetterly developed Weird Sister Records in order to amplify the voices of BIPOC artists and creators.

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Daniels is excited to have Weird Sister Records backing her for the launch of Heavy.”

“I am so eager and excited to make history with Weird Sister Records. They encourage my creativity and support my desire to tell my stories the way I want them told. Collaborating with them has been an exciting cycle of ideas and mutual admiration. I see great things in all our futures.” – Sug Daniels

Gavyn Bailey Brings Emotion Back To Pop With “NUMB ME, BAD”

LOS ANGELES, CA – October 17th, 2019 – Gavyn Bailey drops his second single,“Numb Me, Bad”, a song about his struggle with mental health. Deep, dark and driving, the track digs into your psyche, illustrating tangible reactions to innermost feelings. An Alt/Pop soundscape, “Numb Me, Bad” is the result of great pop writing, sonically delicious production, and raw, honest lyrics.

Gavyn Bailey

Produced by Trevor Muzzy (Son Real, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, and more) and co-written with Muzzy and Ashley Maietta (of the trio, Luci), the track dives deep into Gavyn’s relationship with his mental health. “It’s a cry for help from a younger version of myself,” says Bailey. “It’s my personal experience with depression and crippling anxiety, and feeling the need to self-medicate to escape that dark place we’re all capable of falling into.” As a Mental Health Ambassador for CHOC’s (Children’s Hospital of Orange County) Mental Health Initiative, Gavyn’s focus with this new release is to raise awareness and show anyone who is suffering from any kind of mental illness that they are not alone. “I want to connect with others on that level because I know how important it was to me when I was younger to have someone who understood what I was going through,” he says.

GAVYN BAILEY SINGLE RELEASE PAGE 2“Numb Me, Bad” was conceived over a period of nearly 6 months, but chipping away at the deep-rooted emotion behind it was a therapeutic experience for Bailey. “I knew that writing with them [Trevor Muzzy and Ashley Maietta] about such a sensitive subject would be an easy task.
