Where you keep your food plays a pivotal role in the success of your recipe. Make sure to have shelf-stable foods in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. You should store herbs and spices in a cabinet rather than on the back of the stove because the heat may impact them adversely.

Holiday Butternut Squash with Apples and Cranberries
Butternut squash is one of my favorite vegetables out there if I want maximum comfort and sweetness in a dish. Butternut Squash is high in vitamin A, responsible for cell and tissue growth, and Vitamin C, an important factor in the process of collagen building for the skin. Not only is this type of squash (there are many varieties!) great for maintaining beautiful, glowing skin but it’s also one of the most versatile vegetables out there. You can roast, bake, or boil it!

Salmon with a Pecan Crunch
Not only does salmon feel like a meal fit for a queen, but it’s also a great pick for the main course at any holiday party. Wild salmon is one of the best food sources out there to get your omega 3s, the fatty acids that keep skin looking smooth and youthful. I’m convinced that I eat sweet potatoes more than anyone I know. They are my staple in my kitchen yet I always feel like I’m treating myself when I make them. Thanksgiving is hands down my favorite holiday. What can I say? It’s the foodie in me. And if you’re as much of a foodie as I am, you may be in the same bandwagon. Don’t feel any shame! It isn’t about stuffing your face with everything in sight (even though we’re all going to be doing this, and that’s okay); instead, it’s about how food brings everyone together. From cooking delicious family recipes in the kitchen with your family who has traveled near and far to gather around the table and giving thanks, this holiday can leave you with some of the most blessed and touching memories. We’re adding a sweet touch to them with sweet dessert recipes for your Thanksgiving feast. You can’t have enough of yummy treats to go around, and we’re sure there will be enough mouths to gobble them up. Indulge in our favorite dessert recipes ahead; we know your sweet tooth will be incredibly thankful.

Barbecue Recipes to Celebrate Labor Day

We at Cliché have mixed feelings about Labor Day. While any holiday gives us the perfect excuse to relax and have fun (and in this case, to honor the American labor movement), Labor Day also marks the unofficial end of summer, and this year, it feels especially difficult to say goodbye. However, we’re ready to give this summer one last hurrah, and what better way than with a delicious barbecue? Here, we share some of our favorite grill-ready recipes from Sparkling Ice.

Coconut Pineapple Skewers

Ingredients:
  • 1 bottle Coconut Pineapple Sparkling Ice
  • ½ cup olive oil + extra to brush pineapple
  • 2 teaspoons harissa paste or other spicy chili sauce (like Siracha)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¼ – 1 ½ lbs. chicken tenders
  • 1 fresh pineapple – peeled, cut into 1½” chunks
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • Toasted coconut for garnish, optional
  • Cilantro for garnish, optional
Special Equipment:
  • 16 Wooden skewers for grilling
Instructions:
  • In large shallow baking dish combine Coconut Pineapple Sparkling Ice, olive oil, harissa, salt and stir to combine. Reserve 1/3 cup marinade for basting
  • Add chicken tenders, turning to coat. Cover and let marinate in refrigerator for 2 hours
  • Meanwhile, soak 16 wooden skewers in water
  • String marinated chicken on 8 wooden skewers
  • String pineapple on remaining skewers and brush with olive oil
  • Heat grill to medium high
  • Grill chicken and pineapple on two separate parts of grill. Grill chicken for 4 – 6 minutes per side (depending on thickness and heat)
  • Remove to platter and baste with reserved marinade
  • Grill pineapple until slightly caramelized
  • Serve with cooked rice
  • Garnish with cilantro and toasted coconut if desired

Graze’s Mango Coconut Freakshake

Ingredients:
● 1.5 cups coconut water
● 1 tbsp chia seeds soaked in 4 tbsps  of water
● 1 tablespoon shredded coconut
● ¼ teaspoon ground turmeric
● ½ mango (frozen)
● ¼ cucumber
● Juice of 1 lime
● Juice of 1 lemon
● 4-5 ice cubes
● Toppings: coconut yogurt, graze mango coconut granola protein topper, passion fruit spread and fresh fruit

Directions:
First, blend all ingredients into your blender until smooth.  Then pour into a cup or bowl, and top with fresh fruit and graze snacks.

 

Graze’s Guilt-free Piña Colada

Ingredients:
● 1 cup coconut milk
● 1 ½ frozen banana slices
● 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks
● ½ cup coconut water
● 1 tbsp coconut oil
● 1 tbsp honey
● 1.5 oz rum
● ½ cup ice (optional)

Directions:
Blend above ingredients and top with graze’s summertime punch featuring shredded coconut, dried pineapple, and delicious goldenberries.
