5 Stunning Eyeshadows For That Crimson Autumn Look

Just like every other season, autumn comes with its own scents, looks, and colors. You step outside, take in the cool, crisp air, and admire the leaves beautifully changing colors on the trees. The deep reds, oranges, and browns are so gorgeous that wearing them on our eyes is what any makeup lover needs during this time of the year.

What’s more enchanting than smoking out your eyes with rich shades of reds or deep tones of browns? The colors of autumn are inviting and wearing any of its shades will have you blending right into the atmosphere; that’s why we need them all.

Cosmetic brands almost never let the fall season slip away so easily. By taking advantage of the gorgeous season, brands turn the fall colors into shadows and complement these colors with even more charming shades, creating the perfect palette to wear throughout the coming months. There are tons of palettes to choose from, but we picked out our top five favorites for you to consider.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette, $42, sephora.com

It’s clear that almost everyone knows about this palette and just how amazing it is. Anastasia Beverly Hills came out with this essential eyeshadow collection with 14 shades in neutral to berry tones. From earthy yellows to shimmery golds with a metallic finish, these shadows are high-pigmented — they are also fade-resistant.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette, $54, sephora.com

If fiery reds are what you’re looking for, then this palette is what you need. The Naked Heat palette from Urban Decay features 12 amber-hued neutrals including warm browns, burnt oranges, and rich siennas. Smoke out your eyes with any of their smooth red-brown mattes or glimmering coppers and deep bronzes. Each shade blends precisely with a velvet texture and ultimate staying power, making the perfect sunset or crimson eye look.

Colourpop Yes, Please! Pressed Powder Shadow Palette, $16, colourpop.com

For Colourpop’s first ever fixed 12-pan palette, it’s stunning. The palette features the hottest shades from brick red to pale peachy nude to deep reddish brown. Each shade is highly pigmented and applies on evenly, feels ultra-velvety, and leaves your skin silky. Whether the finish is matte or metallic, they will always blend out perfectly to achieve smokey warm tones.

Morphe 35OM – 35 Color Matte Nature Glow, $22.99, morphebrushes.com

If this palette doesn’t scream autumn, then nothing does. Morphe’s Color Matte Nature Glow says it all with their warm-toned shades resembling colors straight from a forest during fall. Every shade is creamy, highly pigmented, and blends together perfectly. Also, each color is a matte finish for those deep smokey looks.

Juvia’s Place Nubian Eyeshadow Palette, $28, juviasplace.com

Juvia’s Place is well-known for their amazing eyeshadow palettes. Their Nubian palette features four transition mattes and eight shimmery pearl-textured colors that are breathtaking to wear during this season. The colors on the palette are essential neutral colors such as sandy nude, rich brown, and their reddish brown shimmer finish. Just like their other palettes, this one is highly pigmented and blends flawlessly.

The Strobing Products You Need to Try

The Starbucks Unicorn Frappe is not the only mythical beast-inspired product this year. Holographic strobing products inspired by fairies, unicorns, mermaids, and celestial beings are taking over the cosmetic market this spring. We have sampled, swatched, and assessed these magical products for how close they come to how they are advertised. To get a better idea of everyone’s go-to products, we scoured through reviews to compare to our own experiences with the holographic makeup and selected a few trending strobing products you need to try.

Milk’s Makeup Holographic Stick, $28, milkmakeup.com
Milk just released a holographic stick ($28) that comes in two iridescent shades: Golden Peach and Supernova. It is vegan and cruelty-free and packed with skin-friendly ingredients like coconut oil, mango butter, and avocado oil. It received a 4/5 on Sephora out of 299 reviews. The brand claims that it compliments all skin tones but from reading the reviews, it seems that the Supernova shade does not show up on pale skin tones. Other concerned users mentioned that it doesn’t seem to blend well with foundations and instead ends up wiping the foundation off. However, it can be applied to the face and body and the Supernova shade produces a beautiful violet sheen.

The Best Foundations for Spring

With the last of the frost melting away and the buds from the first flowers sprouting, the transition from winter to spring is officially in the works. Thank you, mother nature! It’s been a long and snow-filled winter for us on the East Coast, so as the weather begins to warm up, we’re happy to do the same. Not only are we bringing out our warmer weather wardrobe, but also our favorite beauty products made to be bright and full of light.
First on our list is none other than an important base to all our makeup needs (well, besides primer) — foundation. It’s safe to say that we’ve all been rocking that pale/light skin tone throughout the winter, and now it’s time to amp up our color for the spring without looking over-baked or unnatural. How do you do this? Just kick your winter shade up one or two notches. This will give your skin a natural glow that blends in beautifully with these upcoming warmer months. Just be sure to blend, blend, and blend some more.
Here are the best foundations for spring. Check them out for yourself in a shade that will compliment you beautifully. Remember your blenders, gals!

Fall Beauty Trends

We welcome back crisp, fall mornings filled with the smell of pumpkin spice lattes and warmed by cozy, oversized sweaters this season. Finally being able to enjoy delicious hot beverages and fuzzy apparel aren’t the only fall factors we’re excited for. It’s time to replace the bright, bold colors of summer in our makeup bags with the moody, shimmery shades of fall. Think dark liner, metallic eyeshadow, and rich, colored lips for a little preview of what fall beauty is all about. These beauty trends are what we really have been craving! Well, next to the free candy given out on Halloween, of course. Now if only we could score beauty products along with that candy!

Revlon Sultry Samba

(Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Sultry Samba, Revlon.com)

Nyx Merlot

(NYX Matte Lipstick in Merlot, $6, Nyxcosmetics.com)

Rich Lips
Our favorite lips shades all hold that dramatic factor that we can only get away with during the autumn season. Now is when we can adorn the wildest, moodiest colors on our lips. If you’re new to bold, dark lips, check out some of our favorites: Nars’ Satin Lipstick in Afghan Red, Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipstick in Sultry Samba, and M.A.C’s lipstick in Rebel. Rich hues of maroon, bright pigments of pink, and the deep, satin effect of purple are what we sure are taking advantage of each week—it’s safe to say my shade of Nyx’s Matte Lipstick in Merlot will be all but gone by December!

(Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow in Metallic Dusty Rose, $32, Stilacosmetics.com)

Shimmery, Metallic Eyeshadows
Let your eyelids flutter with a metallic sheen of gold, nude, silver, or even green. It’s a must-try trend this fall because it can easily be added to any makeup look. Stila provides gorgeous cream-to-shadow products in full-on metallic shades from Metallic Dusty Rose to Titanium. With these shadows, add some shimmer to a smoky eye for more depth or to an everyday look for some allure. Metallic eyeshadows bring that extra touch of glam that makes our beauty techniques even more fabulous. Try this shimmery trend this fall and see how many eyes will be on yours!
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

(Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper, $18, Sephora.com)

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Liner

(Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink, $24, Bobbibrowncosmetics.com)

Dark Liners
Brightly-colored eyeliners were all the rage this past summer, but it’s time to welcome back the classic black. Black will always be the new black. You can’t go wrong at all with a long-lasting ebony eyeliner. Some of my must-haves are Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner, Maybelline’s Eye Studio Master Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner, Bobbi Brown’s Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner and Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil. Each one is a definite keeper for being bold, smudge-proof, and easy-to-style. You’ll be rocking liner just as mod as Twiggy’s was in the 60’s!
Marc Jacobs Bronzer

(Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Bronze – Perfect Tan, $49, Sephora.com)

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil

(Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer, $30, Toofaced.com)

Glowing Bronzer
Even though the summer has passed, our handy bronzers are still kept in tow. They add that extra glow we want year-round in hundreds of shades that we can’t get over. For fall, it’s all about warm undertones in shades of cocoa, buff pinks, and gold finishes. Pat down your cheeks with a touch of Benefit’s Sun Beam, a blend of Marc Jacobs’ O!Mega Bronze, or a sweep of Too Faced’s Milk Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer. Your cheeks will be as bright as ripe apples this season.
